This has become one of my favorite med spa's and there is no secret about it! I saw Briana the first time for 1cc of Juvederm. She was very nice and detail oriented but for me, just took a little too long. I try to be an easy client so I like to be in & out without the extra fluff. I returned a second time and this time I saw Brooklyn. She is THE SWEETEST & I love her. She is knowledgeable and thorough. I was never worried about asking questions and/or "critiquing" an area I thought needed some extra love. She is very easy to talk to. She's done both my lips and my Botox. I would definitely recommend this spa. I love that they are also open on the weekends which is a rarity but it does make me feel bad for the girls who manage the desk. They are also all super sweet, responsive, and all-in-all this is a wonderfully run med spa. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. I originally came to It's a Secret Med Spa (South Lamar) in February for Botox. Before anyone had thoroughly assessed my skin or understood my skin type, I was encouraged to sign up for their $300/month membership, which included Botox and a monthly treatment (chemical peel, facial, or skin tightening laser). Looking back, I believe the focus was on selling a membership rather than creating a treatment plan that was actually appropriate for my skin. After my chemical peel and facial, my skin had the worst reaction I've ever experienced. I trusted their recommendations and purchased over $300 worth of skincare products they suggested, but my skin only continued to worsen. What was most concerning was that, despite my skin barrier already being compromised, I was advised to continue receiving laser treatments and was told they would help improve my skin. Instead, my skin continued to worsen. Looking back, I felt there was a greater emphasis on continuing treatments and maintaining my membership than on reevaluating whether the treatment plan was right for me. This experience has been both physically and emotionally devastating. I was, and still am, embarrassed by how my skin looks. I eventually had to repeatedly ask for my membership to be canceled. The before-and-after photos speak for themselves. I deeply regret walking through their doors. See photos below of immediately after chemical peel where my skin had zero acne. The other photos are after receiving various treatments recommended by its a secret staff. Since then, I've spent hundreds of dollars trying to repair the damage. I'm now under the care of a dermatologist, taking prescription medication, and seeing a new aesthetician every two weeks just to get my skin back to a healthy baseline. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend It's a Secret Med Spa. I hope others carefully consider their options and make sure they feel confident that any recommended treatments are truly tailored to their skin before committing to a membership or treatment plan. read more

I have been getting botox for years and just got it done 5 months ago . I came to this place to try it and all i can say is DONT waste your time or money . My injector Jamie was great however, after less than 2 months my Botox has worn off . I got the same amount of units I always get and have been getting in recent years and never ever had this issue. The salon owner called me to tell me I needed to get 60 units vs the 40 I usually get and that's why it wore off . After looking at their yelp page there is at least 1 more review that includes the Botox wearing off in a short time . The manager also told me that my injector had suggested that I do more units at the time of service and I'm the one who declined . Which is an absolute lie. Like I said my injector was great and she and I both agreed to the units I was treated with . Manager offered to grant my discounted pricing to come in and do more units, however why would I got back to a place I now don't trust, to inject way more Botox then I ever have gotten . This is my absolute favorite MedSpa in Austin. I've been coming here for services for a few years and every time I come in, I'm more impressed than the last time. When you walk in, you're greeted with a smile by the person behind the front desk. If you're new to coming to medspa's, the front desk host is more than happy to help you and answer questions you may have. I go to Rachael by my filler, and China for my skincare. Both women have remembered minor details about my life through the short conversations we have had through our appointments. It always makes me feel appreciated as a guest. This place does get you in quickly and they're always available, but I don't trust the quality of the products they use. Pretty sure their Botox is basically water. The two times I've had Botox here, I had to get Botox again at another place literally a month later because it wore off already. The last time I went, I asked the injector specifically where she was going to put the units and she said, "Oh, we don't really discuss that with patients because they don't know any better anyway," which is laughable. Any professional and reliable injector will discuss that with you. Also, the amount of units they did for me was way overkill, more than what I usually get, and did not even last a month. Not to mention, I felt like something was seriously wrong with my face for like three weeks afterwards but I decided not to panic. The quality of the product is either bad or (hate to say it) the injector is unskilled. When I get Botox at the other place (Refine Aesthetics), it lasts a good four months every time. I've been coming to it's a secret for a year or so now and have fallen in love! I've had a few filler appointments with Brianna and Rachel. They were both very friendly and knowledgeable. I get my facials and laser done by chyna. Chyna is my girlllll. Love her!! I refuse to let anyone else touch my face. I have issues with hyperpigmentation above my lip and chyna has always been more than helpful with teaching me a proper skin care routine to lighten the area. I have a monthly membership and on my day off It's my favorite place to go to and relax. I feel at home there. I really do, they all make you feel very comfortable. I've been seeing Emily as my aesthetician. She is super sweet, nice & very easy to talk to about everything. She knows her skin products and knows what's best for your face and so on. I was recently here for an event and very disappointed. They never bothered to ask how strong I like my Botox, she just started injecting 64 units in the upper third of my face. That is WAY TOO MANY for a 30 y/o. She also didn't withdraw the Botox in front of me which is a huge red flag. I've been dealing with a headache I can't shake off because my muscles are so tight. On top of that, I was told there would be goodies and snacks, there were none. Someone arrived 30 minutes early to their appointment and they let her cut everyone else and gave her my injector (who I specifically chose) when I was there on time. It was chaos. I was planning on returning for cheek fillers but after dealing with this headache I don't think I will return. They're also very overpriced. She really knew what she was doing and the results spoke for themselves when the very next day I had such smooth, clean skin (day of- typical extraction redness). I've gone elsewhere for hydra facials, but this place goes above and beyond in their protocol, at least Kayla definitely did. I just recently moved to Austin and was looking for a trustworthy and affordable place to get my lips done and I'm so happy I found Its A Secret Medspa! I have pretty thin lips and had gotten them filled once before 3 months ago by a plastic surgeon, and she was nothing compared to Rachael! Rachael took time to listen to my concerns, look at the photos I brought in as inspiration, and she gave her honest reccomendation and advice as to what type of filler I should get. She was friendly, considerate, and took her time placing the filler to create the perfect pout that I wanted. I went for the $250 Quick Lip and highly recommend it for anyone who is new to filler.
