So I have been receiving deliveries from It's Organic for about 4 months now (weekly) and I am definitely pleased every week. The items are always fresh and sometimes unusual (but that's the fun of it, right??) My experience with customer service has definitely been a pleasant one. They are very informative and accommodating as much as possible to my questions and needs. I think the best thing that has come out of this for my family is that my children always look forward to our Thursdays deliveries and opening our box of goodies, it has heightened their desire for fruit and veggie snacks over other pantry items, and since we are a juicing family my kids have have become more involved with added kale or spinach to their smoothies! My produce always seems fresh, but it is ORGANIC and does not carry a shelf life like other pesticide and GMO inflamed foods. So my family and I always try to consume it all before it expires. I am definitely a happy camper and will continue my membership with them until otherwise! read more

Thank goodness for finally some straight for the farm organic produce! This place makes it sooo convenient for me to feed my family fresh and healthy in-season items. We have loved it and actually save money as compared to going to the store (which often has a smaller selection) and purchasing organic produce. These guys also deliver to my doorstep which makes things easier on me as I am in grad school and the mother of a 5 year old. I've been getting produce from It's Organic for a few months now and have been happy with the service. I was surprised to see such a low average rating on yelp. Seems like a lot of negative responses have more to do with people not following the instructions on the website /having trouble with Groupon (i.e. not cancelling before a certain cut off date), or not actually liking the idea of eating from a CSA box (i.e. produce eventually goes bad, you need to eat it). If you like the idea of eating food that is local (mostly), in season (mostly), and fresh, I recommend using It's Organic. I get the large, mixed box every month. These are my thoughts: Pros: **You are allowed to list up to 6 or so "skip" items on the website. As far as I can tell, this is pretty novel as far as CSA services go. Usually you get NO say whatsoever, so I'm THRILLED that they are offering this. For example-- in my second box I got 1.5lbs of russet potatoes. I prefer sweet potatoes to russet so I went ahead and listed "russet potatoes" under the "no" list online. Now whenever they go to pack russet, they see this-- and I get sweet potatoes (or whatever else they have) instead! It's GREAT. ** The greens are BEAUTIFUL. I always look forward to the greens the most. Swiss chard, rainbow chard, kale, mustard greens, etc... they are always very fresh and gorgeous. If they did a mini weekly box of greens only I would sign up in a heartbeat!! **You get awesome delicious produce delivered to your doorstep once a week (or every other week). No trip to the grocery store-- how great is that? ** You're supporting local farmers and eating in-season produce, so there is less energy wasted importing goods from far away. **If you need a break from the service (going out of town, etc) you can go online and give them the dates you are away and they will stop all boxes during that period. It takes 5 seconds to set that up, and it's even easier to resume when you get back (either it resumes automatically the week after, or you can hit a button that says "I'm back early" or something to that effect). I've already done that twice and it's worked great. **They always deliver on-time/consistently. I like that they re-use the cardboard boxes (you just leave it out on the doorstep). ** There's a handy little sheet that comes with each box that gives some basic recipes/tells you how to best store your veggies/fruit and gives some interesting nutritional information about a product that's in season. Cons: **Occasionally I will get something that will go bad within a day or so (meaning it was already past its prime when it was packed), or I'll get a sour orange but that has only happened maybe twice. That's about the same chances of coming home from the grocery store with an accidental dud, so I don't mind. ** Once I got a pumpkin that had a "organic, mexico" sticker on it, but I imagine they were low on stock that week and needed some extra produce for the boxes. It seems like most everything else is local. Note about eggs: they are fairly prices and I've had them delivered once--- the quality is good. The eggshells seem a TAD on the thin side for free-range chickens. It would be helpful if It's Organic could upload to the website where these eggs come from and clarify if they are from pastured chickens (meaning, they are outside all day). Free-range is an empty phrase these days... Overall: A+ I'm thrilled with It's Organic and look forward to many more delicious boxes of food in the future. We started the service with a Living social deal and have kept it for over a year. We get a mixed organic box every 2 weeks and have the option to add additional items such as eggs etc as well as opting out of items such a grapefruit that we can't eat. I love the challenge of trying new items I have never had like dikon radish and heirloom varieties that you don't see often in the store. I would highly recommend this service as they are dependable and easy to work with. read more

What a fantastic service! Looking at all these "Groupon" reviews one thing clear: some people don't know what the phrase "Terms and Conditions" means. You sign up for a recurring service and things are going to continue happening until it is cancelled. Don't be cheap and whiny, go buy your own produce if you don't want someone to pick it, clean it, pack it, ship it, and deliver it exactly as promised. I couldn't be happier with It's Organic. As a grown man who is (mostly) vegan, I dread trips to the procude eisle. The annoying bags, sifting through conventional and gmo crap to get to the organic goods, and the occasional tussle over the last bundle of tomatoes, all make it a trip I dread. With It's Organic, I can obtain all I seek without going to the store. It shows up every Thursday and customer service is outstanding! I have been dealing with Monica and she is extremely helpful and always ensuring I am satisfied with the product. The box was delivered to my place of business in Walnut Creek, CA. Perfect size, and that beautiful USDA Organic label smacked on top make all of my coworkers jealous, I'm sure. It's awesome, I know it's fresh, I know it's local, and I know it's organic, all I have to do is show up to work! Cost me like 30 bucks for produce. Saved me a trip to Raley's in the process?! Do not do business with this company. I have called numerous times since I did not receive my order on 12/20/17. But they charged me for the 12/20/17 order. I cancelled after I did not hear back and they charged me again on 1/3/18. They now owe for 2 deliveries I did not get. The driver said on 1/3/18 that he would talk to his supervisor but he did not sound very optimistic. I am beyond furious at this point. read more

I received my box yesterday. The quality of the produce is great and there was much more than I would have expected. I have spent basically every Sunday for the last 4 years at the downtown Farmer's Market. After moving to the hills it is difficult to make it anymore. The quality and quantity provided in the It's Organic box is actually a better deal than the market because it is all organic and delivered to my door. Although I miss the bustle of the market, this is a great alternative. I'm happy It's Organic came through. I would encourage anyone to try them.....it sucks that their computer system is wonky, but I'm told by the owner it's being changed. That said, it is not wonky enough to pass them by. We've been using it's Organic! to get fruit, veggies and eggs delivered to our door each Monday for over a year. We signed up with a door-to-door representative and haven't had any issue with customer service, charges, etc. My only issue was with the timing of when the list for the next week's harvest would come out and trying to time it with the cut off for updates. Most of the time I get the email after the list is up - but not always. As far as the quality we've been as happy as if we had picked it out at the Farmer's market ourselves - except it's cheaper and more convenient. I mean - it shows up on my door even if I do NOTHING! That's AWESOME! The pros: -Again, it's incredibly convenient -The website shows you in advance what you're getting, so you can plan meals and other shopping -It's usually CHEAPER than the Farmer's market -You can exclude things you won't use and get a substitute My few cons: -it doesn't replace my veggie shopping because there are some staples that I must have for my family every week. Instead, we switched to a smaller box and supplement. -Winter is a bit tough since you're getting local, in-season produce. We switched to all fruit during winter. -Our exclusion list isn't followed 100% all the time (although I feel like we sometimes get the substitute AND the item to exclude... so we're all good - just hate to waste it) One last thing - you get recipe ideas. Not only was the customer service horrible for starters. These reviews alone scare me about the rest of the process i will have to endure to cancel. Not only did I not recieve my order that I'd purchased thru a groupon special but because it requires a credit card be entered for recuring orders it billed my card for the full amount. For a service that should have only cost me $15 it cost me $50. Considering I purchased this groupon to save money I'm extremely unhappy with this service and will tell others not to purchase it also. I've received 5 boxes now and this last one had so much moldy or wilted fruit/veggies that I don't want to deal with it any more. I hate throwing away good food. Their representative told me that the food was delivered within days of harvest, I'm pretty sure this isn't true. The spinach was halfway cooked, over half of the strawberries were moldy and the melon was small, deformed, and moldy. No thanks! 1 Star for the concept. That's it. I bought the Living Social deal for my parents as a gift and they received their fruits today. My parents are pretty reasonable people (well at least my mom is :) and for her to complain about the quality of the fruits says A LOT. The fruit selections ranged from kiwis to bananas and from the picture I received of the fruits it showed rotten minneolas, very tiny, unripened kiwis, very unappealling mangoes and so on. Only the Fuji apples were of edible qualities. That means only about 30% of what was sent are edible. I called to complain and the person that responded was very indifferent. In short, I would advise to pay a few extra dollars and go to Whole Foods. At least you'll know exactly what you are getting and paying for! Booooo to It's Organic. What a disappointment!! read more

I love the idea of getting fresh produce delivered to me - and I took full advantage when I first started getting my deliveries...I'd make up some new recipe, etc. But now - it's kind of getting old :( I don't get deliveries until I get home after work. And this does pose a problem in the heat. It's kind of pricey...I pay about $30 every two weeks. I do get some kind of freebie with every delivery. I try to use whatever is delivered to me...one week I made beef and barley stew(ish). It was pretty good. Not sure I'd purposely buy barley again, however. I am so conflicted .... A Groupon dealio for It's Organic was exactly what I was looking for, so I took up the offer. I became a routine member and all was well for awhile ... until I tried to change my address. I don't even know how to summarize this without it coming out as word vomit but basically customer service is seriously lacking. I really do not want to have to talk poorly of a company or a specific person but it has come to that. The main customer service rep, her name starts with the letter M, is seemingly incompetent. Lots of long awkward pauses on the phone and zero confidence that I was getting anywhere in any of the 5 phone calls I made. After not receiving 3 deliveries it turns out that the problem was that she changed my billing address instead of my delivery address? How this makes sense really beats me! I was still being charged. When she discovered this all I got was, "ohhhhh, you changed your billing address not your mailing." Uhhh, nope, sorry missy, YOU did that; not I. She would be best suited in a different role because customer service ain't her forte. Can't teach a horse to fish or whatever the saying is. I made a complaint about her to only have her respond that I'd get my last delivery for free, rather than a refund like I had asked for. So be it. Good riddance! Quality of product is generally good. Some weeks were more of a hit than a miss but that's to be expected when you're dealing with seasonal, fresh produce. read more

This was going to be a 3 star review, because the service isn't all bad, but dropped down to 2 which I'll explain why. I signed up for the Regular sized Fruits/Veggies service. The salesman didn't really pitch anything else, even though he was aware we had a family of 5. I had assumed that the size we were getting would be sufficient enough for $35 a delivery. There is no real complaints about the quality of the fruits and vegetables. The onions looked perfect, the avocado was huge and the golden potatoes were massive. When my wife told me that we only received 2 golden potatoes, I picked up 3 more from Nugget and there was an obvious difference in the size between the two. But despite all of that, the quantity we get for the money we spent doesn't really add up. I could get just as much food or more for $10+ cheaper. We received two apples. That's enough for half of my family for a single day. The potatoes were used for dinner, and I'm still going to have to go shopping for more later on in the week so we have some for next week. We received 3 oranges which is already about half gone. The single romaine lettuce we received will last us about 4 days and was not as perfect as they guaranteed. And we received an item that we put on our "do not deliver" list. With a service like this, we're literally cutting out the middle man. There's no grocery store to purchase our vegetables from, so the prices shouldn't be higher than stores, they should be lower. I appreciate that it's not easy to grow food and delivery it, but be leery of any company that sends out door to door salesman. I went against my better judgment; so lesson learned. And here is why this company will go from 3 stars to 2 stars from me. I did call to cancel my service and I do remember signing on for a 4 box guarantee service so I could receive 1 dozen eggs for each of my 4 deliveries.Two of those egg shipments were supposed to be free and very conveniently were set up to be free on the 2nd and 4th delivery. I was told by the rep that since I'm canceling before the 4 deliveries have been completed, I'm being charged a $10 termination fee. Something that was most likely not on the document that I signed. I would have considered potentially coming back as a customer in the future, but after being hit by this fee, I'll never be a customer again. It's the principal. The whole 4 delivery guarantee was more for their benefit, not mine. It's a gimmick to deter a customer from canceling because they don't have enough confidence in their services and is a way to recoup some of the money they had anticipated receiving. It was signed up for with the promise of two dozen free eggs that I will never receive. It's something that can easily be waved for a customer who was unhappy with the quantity of product they received. And on after thought... The eggs we purchased were $5.49 and $6.99 if we wanted the brown eggs. The salesman quickly scribbled out the price for the brown eggs on his sheet that said Brown Eggs $4.99 and fixed it with his own pen. Sketchy at best. read more

Love love love this service! As a working mom I often don't have time to go grocery shopping as often as I need to, and now I don't need to drag my three kiddos through the grocery store as often as before since I signed up for this service. At first I signed up to receive a box every 2 weeks but now I get it every week because it's just that good. Everything's organic and the quality is much better than you find in most stores, especially for organic produce. The variety is fantastic too. Some of the things they've sent me would be hard to find organic unless I made the trek to the Natural Food Coop, and that's not something I have time for usually. My kids love it too. They are so excited on Thursdays when I pick them up from daycare because they know when we get home the box will be waiting for us. They've been eating more fruits and veggies since we signed up. Another thing I love is the "freebie" I have received in every box. There is always a surprise product in my box....one time I got organic pasta, a couple weeks ago I got organic barley (which I'd never tried but they included a recipe and it was so yummy), and this week I got all-natural eggs. read more

Not sure about the bad reviews about cancelling. I started using them with a living social deal I got. I loved what I received in my box and everything was fresh. I cancelled because we have a local farmers market that's opening in a few weeks. Otherwise I like the idea of getting the produce at my door step and I love that the box is unmarked. From my experience it was a good service. As far as cancelling all I did was send them a quick email and heard back within the hour that my service was cancelled, no ordeal. I'd use them again. They do not offer great customer service and for that reason I cannot, and will not do business with them. I received a few boxes and I saw a lot of repetitive items such as plums. I initially registered to receive my box every two weeks, but realized a lot of it was going to waste since it did not seem so fresh when I initially received the box. I asked they change me to monthly services and they did; however, my card was charged within the next two weeks and I had no delivery scheduled. It has been over three weeks and they have NOT refunded me the money. They use multiple excuses why they have not been able to refund the money, but really? Does it take three weeks!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I had this service for several years and had to cancel in November. A food box was delivered for which I was charged, well after my cancellation. I called and was advised my card would be credited. I've been trying to get my money back ever since. Multiple times I've been given excuses and told that I would be credited. Now, six months later, no one will even return my phone call. I've left 5 messages within the last two weeks. When you call them you have an option of leaving a message or speaking with someone. There is really no point in giving the option, because every time I call it goes to voicemail anyway. It's unbelievable how little anyone there seems to care. We've been getting fresh fruits and veggies now for about 6 months. Most of the time the quality is very good. I've noticed lately that the carrots haven't been too crisp, but it might be my fault for not putting them in the crisper right away. Overall I think most weeks we get a good selection and amount. Every so often I think we should've gotten more stuff in the box, but for two people it's usually just fine. (We get a box every other week.) And I like that you can specify what items you don't want (e.g., I'm allergic to bell peppers) and add on extra items (oh yeah, I need more eggs!). I love that I get what's in season and that it's organic and local. And considering it's delivered right to my front door, it's a pretty good deal! read more

I really like having options of organic delivery to my home. I have used the other local delivery service and they too had organic mangoes that were brought it from Mexico...I didn't mind. I still go to the local farmers markets too. It is a great way of connecting with foods you may not have even noticed in a store. When you run out of creative ideas you just got to turn on the food network or better yet dig out some cook books and find all the wonderful things you can do with what is offered. I saw a show where Emeril Lagasse taught things to do with stuff from you organic delivery! This particular CSA has add on options that others do not which I think is great! Keep eating that good stuff that comes your way and create a new way of eating instead of falling back on habits of eating the same old things. read more

A week later, I received a box full of fruits and vegetables which finally did NOT include any apples or plums. Don't do business with this company, you will eventually write one of these. I canceled my automatic deliveries, as required before, my "cut -off" date, (I had to sent an email in order to do that since they dont answer phone calls or return messages) 10 days after my first call they told me that the got my message and would cancel deliveries, They charged me for a non existent delivery afterwards, anyway. When someone, finally, returned my next calls about the charge, I was told that I would get a credit, several weeks after this, i began calling again...she, finally, returned one, as a result of this call I was told that they would mail a check to me. That was January 8, still no check in sight and they still do not answer calls, and are not returning calls. Just got my first box of produce today! Everything looks awesome and fresh! We got cabbage, kale, green beans, cucumber, zucchini, romaine, corn, grapes, mango, bananas, and plums! Everything looks good, but one negative thing was the plums are not amazing. I have my own garden so I can tell that the cucumber, green beans, kale, romaine and grapes were very fresh! The cucumber was huge and delicious! This service reminds me of the olden days when you could have milk delivered to your door! The delivery guy even waved and smiled when I came outside to get my box after he rang the doorbell. Love the concept of buying local and having it delivered. And they even include some recipe ideas and tips on how to store produce for optimum freshness! REAL produce does not have a long shelf life so knowing the best way to store is helpful. read more

I've been receiving fruit/veggie boxes, from It's Organic, for almost a year...and have been very happy with them. I didn't look at these reviews until I was already established with them, but I have to say...I was a little surprised to see all of the negative reviews. The produce has been great and the staff has been helpful. I recently emailed the staff to request to change my deliveries to once a month, from twice a month. They emailed me back the next day, and my deliveries changed immediately. I love that they include recipes for some of the more obscure fruits and veggies...it's super fun and helpful. The only thing that I would say needs just a little more improvement is the website, it's not overly easy to operate, otherwise, I think they're great and would totally recommend them! read more

I'm so annoyed with this company! Over a year and a half ago I called and cancelled. To my surprise last week I got a delivery and was charged. I called to question what was happening and they said my account was put on vacation for a year and a half. I asked if that was even logical that I would put an account on a year and a half vacation hold and was told "a lot of people do" . When I questioned that statement was told "well maybe a couple have". I was extremely upset and said I wanted a refund and was told the manager would call me back. 2 days went by and still no call. I called back again and was told my account still wasn't cancelled and asked about my refund and was told again the manager would call me back and was out of office until later in the day. I had been looking into CSAs for a few months and then Groupon had an It's Organic offer. It seemed very convenient to have locally grown, organic produce delivered directly to my door. As others have mentioned you must create an account with your credit card even though you are just interested in redeeming a coupon for one delivery. There is no place on the site to cancel the subscription and there is no "one-time only" option for delivery. Now let's address the "fresh" and "local" produce. I would love to know where bananas and kiwis are grown locally in the Sacramento area. Many of the fruits have stickers on them (proving they're organic?) so it doesn't seem exactly farm-to-table. As others have indicated many of the items arrive in a decent state but need to be eaten within a day or two. Some of our fruit arrived moldy and bruised. I recommend finding a real CSA (Full Belly Farms, Farm Fresh to You) instead of using It's Organic! Hopefully, with time, they will learn to listen to their customers and make delivery easier. read more

I purchased a Living Social deal and was excited to try the service and potentially keep the service since we had bought a new juicer recently. I agree with other posts that I did NOT like having to enter my credit card on their website to sign up. If they charge me this week, I'll be furious. However, I did it anyway and after emailing with the company and recieving quick responses regarding delivery to my neighborhood I got past that. We recieved our first box of veggies/fruits last week to find: 2 rotten, shriveled lemons, 2 non-ripe tomatoes that were split, some veggie I had never heard of before and the leaves were wilty, driscolls strawberries (I get these at the grocery store), nearly wilted green lettuce, 2 very small and hard pears, 3 small apples (one was rotted in one place), some dried up looking carrots...I think that was it. We ate NOTHING that was delivered, except the berries. I was SOOOO disappointed. I was so looking forward to the delivery and to find that they did not come through in terms of quality and service. How on earth are you to gain new business when you send this type of produce out on a first delivery? I then emailed and nice letter to them explaining how disappointed I was and all I got was "We're sorry you're disappointed. I've cancelled your account.". WOW! I order from a CSA currently. Heard this was less costly, so I tried a box. Not sure the fruits came straight from farmers. Nectarines had stickers on them and were very green; by the time they ripened, they were all shriveled. Grapes were extremely small and sour. 1 pear was overripe and beat up. Avocados went bad by the time they were ripe enough to eat! I quit as soon as I received this box. It seems to be more of a grocery store type delivery service than a farmer sourced CSA. Low quality produce. Although the melon was good as were 2 pears, it was not worth it at all! read more

I am sharing my experiences with ItsOrganicDelivery.com from the perspective of a customer and new employee, (ind. contractor status). My room mate signed for bi-weekly delivery based on the verbally expressed claims of the door to door sales rep who signed her up. We share food costs, so even though she is technically the customer, I am also a customer as I pay 1/2 the cost. The company claims that the typical mixed selection box (1/2 produce - 1/2 fruit) weighs approx 13 -16 lbs. The first box delivered to me weighed just under 12 lbs and the 2nd box was under 11 lbs. The discrepancy over the weight of the delivered boxes mentioned above, speaks to the credibility of the company. As a door to door sales rep (ind. contractor) I was required to form my presentation from the sales script provided to me by ItsOrganicDelivery.net During the first night in training I had several questions about how to address what I felt were discrepancies, or misrepresentations of the product and or service being offered. None my questions were answered in a definitive, non subjective, straight forward manner. The freshness of the produce was generally good, but not great - which I expected based upon ItsOrganicDelivery.com claim of delivering each box to your door within 3 days of its harvest from a local organic farm. All the produce was spoiled within 4 days of the delivery. What we were unable to eat within that time was lost. The items we did eat were all good. But again. not great. The difference in the quantity they delivered compared to what was promised made the actual price much higher. I can purchase fresher organic produce from a number of stores for considerably less money and get better, fresher produce. The quality and quantity of the produce was misrepresented, The script provided to me for the purpose of selling new customers contained statements presented as facts that were at best misleading, and at worst - calculated lies. Having recognized that this was not a company I could represent with any sense of pride and was not consistent with my personal ethics, I informed the owner of my decision to stop selling for them. On Friday, Dec 14 he told me that I would have a commission check available on Monday, Dec 17. I called him later that day to ask that they mail the check to me.
