The fresh baked bread here seems to be the best compared to other grocery stores in the area, however it costs a lot more. The pugliese bread is my favorite as it is soft, fluffy, and taste delicious! The sourdough is also yummy and has a light airy consistency.  The sandwiches are made with the fresh baked bread and are delicious! Even though the store opens at 6am, the bread is not ready until 8-9am, therefore it is best to order a sandwich a couple hours after the store opens for the optimum selection of bread. I once made the mistake of ordering a sandwich at 7am and was only presented with two bread options: sliced bread or focaccia. I selected the focaccia and although the bread was tasty, it made for a very soft and ultimately soggy sandwich.  There is a large prepared/hot food section that is self-serve. On one occasion while I was selecting a soup to purchase I witnessed an employee wiping up the spilled food from the counter and putting it back into the large food tray. It was absolutely nauseating and I immediately questioned if I should even purchase the soup given the lack of proper food cleanup/handling.  The grocery items cost much more than other grocery stores for the same exact item. Nugget seems to carry a variety of high-quality ingredients and typical well-known brands. The cost of produce and meat is much higher than other grocery stores, although the meat is typically sourced from local farms.  During Thanksgiving Nugget carries a large selection of high quality turkeys. There are a few turkeys that are sourced from local farms that are advertised as natural, antibiotic free, and free range. When purchasing a Turkey for Thanksgiving it is always advised to call and preorder as the high quality turkeys sell out fast. read more

I love the Juice Bar, Deli, Hot Foods, and Bakery sections here--and the fact that it's conveniently close to me is a big plus. They offer a great variety of freshly made juices, smoothies, and coffee. My go-tos are The Protector, C-Madness, and Nananut. The coffee is pretty standard, but they also feature seasonal drinks on their menu. From the bakery, the Champagne Cake and Burnt Almond Cake are both amazing. I like that they also sell individual slices, perfect when you just want a small treat. The store itself is clean and well-organized, and the staff are generally helpful. Prices can be on the higher side, but the quality of their produce, meats, and cheese selection definitely makes up for it. Overall, I love the Nugget and so do my kids. This Store is AMAZING! Clean, Great Prices & Top-Tier Service! Omg, I am in love with this Nugget Market! I was immediately impressed with how incredibly organized and sparkling clean the entire store is. It just feels good to shop here. On top of that, the customer service is by far top-tier. Every employee I interacted with was friendly and genuinely helpful. Now, I know what you're thinking--a store that looks this nice must be expensive, right? WRONG! I was so pleasantly surprised by their price points. I looked around and immediately noticed that anyone can shop here. They have plenty of sales and great deals on all sorts of grocery items, so it's not just a "special occasion" store. By the way, I found my favorite Non-Dairy Ice Cream for under $5, which is a super great deal that you just don't see very often. And here's the kicker: they have a Tesla charging station right outside. I was able to get all my shopping done and come back out to a fully charged car. Always able to find what I need. Big parking lot. Have not had any customer service issues. No self checkout here so it's nice to have human interaction now that so many stores have self checkout. I often come here because they have Producers Dairy ice cream, which is a family owned business based in Fresno. I do wish they had more ice cream flavors from them but so far I've enjoyed their peanut butter chocolate ice cream. I like that this supermarket carries a variety of ice cream brands and continues to have Thrifty ice cream after all the Rite Aid stores have closed. read more

Every time I'm in Sacramento, I have to stop by the deli counter for a Californian. It's loaded with marinated portobello strips, goat cheese, basil, tomato, and arugula - all on fresh-baked bread that's ridiculously good. I've been obsessed with this sandwich for years. When I was vegetarian, it was my go-to. And even now that I'm not, it's still one of my absolute favorites. Every friend I've ever recommended it to has loved it. I practically force people to try it, and they always thank me later. It's that kind of sandwich. The other sandwiches are solid too - the Firecracker has peppered turkey, pepper jack, cheddar, roasted red bell peppers, red onion, spring mix, and house-made chipotle mayo. It's spicy, flavorful, and super satisfying. Their Banh Mi is also surprisingly fresh and well-balanced. Just a heads up: the deli gets busy, especially on weekdays, and they usually run out of the marinated portobello around midday. If you want to try the Californian, get there early! I'm also a big fan of their cheeses and salads. The strawberry goat cheese salad with sliced almonds and balsamic drizzle? Phenomenal. I ordered a cake for a birthday. The process was ridiculous. It took forever. I picked the cake up today and there was no birthday writing on the cake. It just had balloons on it. I love Nugget, don't get me wrong. I love all the artisinal cheeses, cakes and grabbing a freshly made sandwich. I mean how can you go wrong a slough of epically curated gourmet foods. I like Shopping at The Nugget. They carry everything I'm looking for when shopping at a grocery store. The Meat and Deli/Bakery service was Exceptional! The employees who worked those counters immediately greeted us with a smile and assisted us without delay. It was so nice. Unfortunately during Checkout the Cashier was Not friendly and unhelpful. My Son who is special needs likes to play Scratchers/Lotto and had a hundred dollar bill he received from his Grandparents for Christmas. We asked the cashier if she could break up the bill and she responded like it was an inconvenience for her to do that. My wife got a little frustrated with her and said she was going to the service desk next to the lotto machine because there was an older gentleman there. NO HELP!!! He knew she was there and ignored her. He looked like a manager and that's what was so disappointing. I guess the front end people work by example. There is a certain vibe you get that has been increasing steadily in this store. As if you get looked at as if you do not belong. You then confirm this when the cashier asks you if you got organic. Which they should know due to the bag, rubber band on sight. They ask, to see if you lie and say it's not. For what a 5 to 25 cent discount? Love coming here for desserts and cheeses but last time I was here, I waited and waited and was never helped at the bakery, so I just left. I'd still go back, just maybe when I have more time.
