I wish that Galt Food Center would prominently display the price and from/to dates whenever you have a sale. Too often, your customers don't even know you're having a sale. And that is a very poor business practice on the part of store ownership. I mean, why have a sale when no one knows you're even having a sale. Someone needs to get a clue over there. Interesting that there are no reviews after the new ownership. I went in 3 days ago and wanted to buy some New York steaks. The butcher said if I bought the whole strip he would give me a dollar off a pound. I agreed and then was told they didn't have one until the next day. I went back on day 2 and was told no delivery because of the holiday. I went back today and was told by a different butcher that there would be no discount. I walked away. I'm from Montana, people there seem to have more integrity than people in California. If I say to you, I will do something, don't you expect me to do it? Lori , Who worked at the Check Register on 98/18/2024 has fraudulently and grossly overcharged me . What I bought is 4 bags of Yellow Onions and she in turn changed me 1 bags of Onions and 3 bags of Green Bell Peppers which is 3 times more expensive. Just before that she charged me 2 GBP . So she knew GBP is more expensive than Yellow Onions.This woman is a threat to Your Store Integrity. Please discipline her by taking her away from the register. Nice family owned grocery store. The meat department is great only local place you can purchase meat by the pound, very fresh meat. Absolutely amazing meat. I came here from Elk Grove last week to try out this "new local" grocery store. Its meat and veggies are super nice inexpensively at all. Even though I have to drive 7 miles it seems worthy. I used to drive all the to Sac downtown for some Asian food and groceries. This new store is definitely one of them I will come back for low price groceries. read more

I withheld one star because of the high prices, but it costs a lot to operate a big grocery store. The pluses here are short lines and nice people running the show. Also we were able to shop Christmas day after realizing we needed a couple of things. What we bought was really expensive including $6.50 for orange juice in a big plastic jug..minutemaid and about $3 for 18 regular eggs..not cage free or anything upscale. Still I would go back any time. Spending a few extra dollars for speedy polite service in a well kept store with good parking is worth it for me. Supporting locally owned businesses is important to the success if everyone in the community. Spending money there allows those people the means to spend their money at other community businesses. Wish i could give ZERO stars. If you are a women of color you should not support this business. I was racially profiled and accused of stealing by management. The cashier had to explain that i paid for my items and that i was just going back to buy another item. Absolutely disgusting that we are still facing this in these times. Well that's the last time I'm going in there! I was told my total was 74,56$ then looked up after handing ny check over to the cashier to see the total was 78.55$ I pointed it out to her. Her response " Maybe you heard it wrong!" The cashier and I don't get along to begin with because of a neighbor issue but if you cant leave your hate for me at home I need not do business here anymore. I usually stay away from here when she works but God forbid I figure she be mature enough to be professionalwhike at work, HA! I always spend a minimum of 100$ and a max of 300$ each time I come in. I bought less than I typically do because I wanted to make sure there wouldnt ve a problem with us. This place is slowly losing business, now they've lost mine too. Went home and reviewed my receipt. Well I was correct on what I was told. She provided the total before adding the last item which was 3.99$ without that item it indeed would've been 74.56$. Well it doesn't matter anymore. This is a pretty good little market. We mainly come here for their produce which is often priced very reasonably and is good quality. They have a little bit of most all the other basics thought the store. A meat counter (haven't tried yet) and a little nook to get some decent Chinese food for cheap. I've never had to wait in line here they are super fast which is nice if you're just trying to quickly pop in for something. Checkers are always sweet and very helpful. read more
