Great atmosphere, fun bar, good drinks! Even a Basil Hayden smoked old fashioned with crystal clear square ice cube! Fun decor - small lounge sitting area looks good too bring your friends!

Came here with 2 friends on a Saturday afternoon. Its very convenient, right in Old Town Temecula. Parking - we parked at the parking garage and walked around and my friends decided they were hungry and wanted to check out this spot. One guy ordered the ramen - and got really sick later that day, and we weren't sure if the ramen may have caused that, since I don't believe he even had any sushi. My other guy friend ordered the 4x4 sushi platter, and I got to try one of each. It was pretty good sushi. This spot is more on the expensive side, but its for the ambiance of the restaurant. Its nice and fancy - but lacks attention to details. Restrooms weren't nice. Service - no complaints, but nothing exactly memorable, which is both a good and bad thing. This place is nice out of convenience if you're in Old Town (although I wouldn't mind driving a little to a nicer and cheaper spot), but its not likely for me to go out of my way to refer my friends to come back here.

Our server beau was absolutely great! He had an awesome personality and great customer service. This new sushi spot actually surprised me! The fish was really good and fresh! We tried the hot Cheeto sushi roll which was better than I expected if you like hot Cheetos you have to try it! They had a lot of indoor and even outdoor seating the wait wasn't bad on a Friday afternoon. The food came out quickly as well. Def will be back to try more sushi rolls on their menu. The gyoza was really good and love how they were fried perfectly.

Good sushi restaurant in old town Temecula that also has a speakeasy. Service was good. We ordered crispy rice with spicy tuna, edamame, poke bowl, and sushi rolls. Sunday wasn't busy around dinner time. Right after we had cocktails at the speakeasy located next to the hostess counter. Once you walk in it's like you're transported to Japan. The cocktail menu included classics and some unique flavor profiles.

Just came here for drinks. I've been here before when it was a different speakeasy and it was chill. I like what they did with the japan style. the drinks and service was good.

I was expecting more from a sushi place in Old town Temecula. There are many other sushi places with better quality in Temecula/Murrieta. Not a good experience overall. Food was not tasting good.

    Atmosphere

(3/5) This was our first visit to Kage Speakeasy and Tabu Sushi & Grill. We ended up having a great evening, but it started with a lot of unnecessary confusion. First, the positives. Kage is absolutely beautiful. The Japanese-inspired décor, lanterns, neon lighting, and overall atmosphere really set the tone. It has a unique vibe that feels intimate, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. The bartenders were fantastic, knowledgeable, attentive, and their cocktail recommendations were excellent. The drinks were beautifully presented, and once we were seated at Tobu, our server was just as wonderful. The food and service were great. Unfortunately, our experience with the host was disappointing. We were told the wait for Tabu would be about 20 minutes, and when we asked if we could wait inside Kage with a drink, the host told us yes. Since it was our first visit, we naturally assumed we had been added to the restaurant's waitlist. About 45 minutes later, we found out our name had never been added because Kage and Tabu have separate hosts. That was never explained to us, even though we had the conversation right in front of both hosts. A simple explanation or quick handoff could have prevented the entire misunderstanding. What bothered me most wasn't the mistake, it was the lack of communication afterward. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the confusion. I also asked the same host where the restroom was since it was my first visit. She replied, "At the restroom," while vaguely pointing toward herself. Because we were inside an enclosed speakeasy, I had no way of knowing the restrooms were actually outside the speakeasy, inside the restaurant near the bar area. I ended up wandering around until I eventually found them. Thankfully, one of the bartenders stepped in to help, even though it wasn't responsibility. He checked with the restaurant staff, and shortly afterward we were finally seated. Although we had originally requested a table, we were seated at the sushi bar instead. By then, we were simply happy to finally eat and didn't want to make a bigger issue out of it. We appreciated that someone took the initiative to help us after all the confusion. Once we were seated, everything changed. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we enjoyed our meal. The food, drinks, bartenders, and restaurant staff were all excellent and truly turned the evening around. As first-time guests, we were simply trying to enjoy a night out together, and a little communication and hospitality at the beginning would've made all the difference. I'd absolutely come back for the atmosphere, drinks, food, and the outstanding bartenders and restaurant staff. My only suggestion is that management improve communication between the hosts and restaurant team. Kage and Tabu have everything they need to be a five-star experience it just needs to start with the same level of hospitality at the front door as it does throughout the rest of the experience.

I love this sushi spot. They have great lunch specials. The service is always very quick and attentive. I've probably eaten here 4 times in the last month. If you're looking for some fresh sushi, this is your spot. Shout out to Alex for always making the most fire ass rolls and sushi!

Service was excellent and the sushi rolls were tasty and filling. Surprisingly the avocado bombs were super tasty.

I love it here! Exactly what old town Temecula needed. The food is so yummy and they have a wonderful happy hour. I work from home and love coming here and enjoying the outside breeze and the good vibes with the staff. They have a speak easy opening up soon too, exciting.

Came here for the first time on Tuesday and the sushi was so damn good!! I always loved going to the San Marcos location so figured I'd finally try temecula location & it didn't disappoint! The Kage speak easy was so fun with all the lights and in house custom drinks they made! Try the Michelada there as well, best one I've had and it's in a Tokyo themed speakeasy!! Always can expect the best service from tabu both in Temecula & San Marcos!

When we said yes, she offered to help us navigate the menu with a few recommendations. After asking us some simple questions about what we liked she pointed us toward the Chicken Satay Burrito and the Poke Burrito - and she absolutely nailed it. Both burritos were fresh, colorful and packed with flavor. Every bite had the perfect crunch from the crisp vegetables, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. The sauces were served on the side, letting us customize each bite, and they complemented the flavors without overpowering them. The decor itself had a freshness about it like the food they served with bright inviting colors. What we appreciated the most was how satisfying the meal was. We left feeling full, refreshed and energized instead of weighed down.if you're looking for a healthy meal that does not sacrifice flavor, Toss'd is definitely worth checking out.

I ordered the rainbow poke salad, hubby ordered the salmon and mango salad, and son ordered the chicken satay salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. We liked the food so much that a week later we went there for lunch. We realized we had been here once before right when they opened. It's a cute little space neatly decorated like a Chipotle where all of their add ins have been chopped in front of you and are waiting for your selection. This time I ordered the poke burrito wrapped in rice paper, the son ordered the chicken satay burrito, wrapped in rice, paper and hubby stuck with the same salmon mango salad. We took the order to go which they made with love and effort. Again, food tasted healthy and fresh. It was delicious. We'll definitely go back for either a healthy lunch or a healthy dinner. Bonus - the lovely ladies told us that they're also turning this into a champagne lounge during the evening hours, something else to look forward to!

But that's not even the best part - we are gluten free (celiac) and our waitress, Yesi, was absolutely PHENOMENAL. We even decided that we had such a great time we needed to bring our kids back today. I did not think the food or experience could get any better. It did. My husband had an amazing Gf burger (so messy and delicious- due to his add ons cooked by Aaron). I had Amazing GF salmon (moist and delicious) Our kids had amazing food as well. They asked if we can make this our "go-to" family spot. The ambiance was honestly second to none. We had a great view of the duck pond and I truly have never felt so peaceful eating anywhere else.

Alisha was our server and she recommended some amazing beers and drinks and food. The old fashioned smoked was incredible. Even with it being busy, she had no problem splitting our bill. She was able to answer any questions we had about the fettuccine and even had some good add ons to the food like adding bacon to the burgers. She let us know that the fettuccine is spicy and explained the name meant spicy sauce. If you don't like spicy foods, I wouldn't go with that even though it was so good. Her letting us know that it's spicy saved my girlfriend from a bad night. We stopped for dinner and the did not appear busy. There was plenty of free parking available in the shopping center and indoor/outdoor seating. It was very windy and too cold to eat outside, so we opted to eat inside. There were only four tables to choose from and one bathroom. This became an issue when someone was already using the bathroom, probably blowing it up since it had already been five plus minutes, and both of my kids had to go (we ended up going to Trader Joe's to use the bathroom). The food finally came out. We ordered 2 tri-tip plates, a chicken sandwich, a kids quesadilla w/rice, and 4 drinks. I was concerned about the tri-tip after reading many others complaining about it being overcooked. This was not an issue. The meat came out cooked perfectly, but the pieces were small. The mashed potatoes were good and buttery. The mac & cheese was good and had a nice flavor. The Brussel sprouts were undercooked, hard, and bland. The bread had soaked up the blood from the tri-tip and was soggy gross. The kids quesadilla was literally 2 store bought tortillas and some sprinkled cheddar cheese that wasn't even melted in between. I didn't care for it, but I'm glad my son ate it. Overall, I had high expectations for this place and it was lacking.
