    Spicy chicken plate
    Jessica C.

My family and I came here to satisfy a sushi craving we had and it delivered! We had sushi rolls and the kids had a plate and some noodles. So full of flavor and great texture on the chicken, even my kids finished their food which is rare. Our sushi rolls tasted good, but want to go back to try other sushi rolls they have. I love the crunchy texture so I'd want to try some of their other rolls. The server was so friendly and tended to us so patiently with the kids. It wasn't too busy on a week night so it felt like service could've been quicker but not that bad. The place looked clean and cute for the most part but the tables are a wood type of material and felt sticky even though it was wiped down.

The food was delicious. I got the teriyaki beef box that came with miso soup a roll of choice rice tempura and a salad, we also ordered the beef udon noodles and spicy garlic edamame as well as a few other rolls and chicken teriyaki plate Everything was delicious. No one had any complaints. Our service was awesome although the food did come out a little slow, our server was amazing. She was so sweet. It's casual vibe and great food I'm sure is what brings its regulars back. Definitely worth stepping in and checking out!

Absolutely love this hidden gem. My favorite sushi spot in all of Temecula. From the owners to the servers, ambience and absolutely delicious rolls. The restaurant is quaint and cute, love the vibe. Always enjoy my visits/dinner.

I think the staff here are very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, wait time for your order is significantly lengthy. Considering the amount of customers that were present, I didn't understand why my order took an hour plus from order to delivery. On top of that, the orders came out sporadically so I was finished before my family members. On average, 15-20 minutes apart. The food was average but satisfying. Unfortunately, I would not come back.

Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every roll was perfection! This place is very small but the interior is so nice. The staff is extremely friendly. Easily my new go-to spot for sushi in Temecula.

Upon arrival we were greeted immediately and was asked to put our name on the waiting list. There were two tables open and the entire bar was open. However since it was our first time there, we just thought the bar was closed since they didn't mentioned we can sit there. As they clean the tables another table wanted to switch tables, so that they got to clean that too. It's not a big place at all. It felt really busy though. I don't think they have a system down so it felt kind of all over the place. One person cleaned and sat everyone while the other two I saw was doing other things. The one person who clean and sat everyone also ended up taking our orders as well. She pretty much did everything. We ordered and sat, while doing that regulars came in because they sat at the bar and was served immediately. They knew what was up. Have we have known we could have save 30 mins waiting. It was so strange. Anyhow the food was good and very enjoyable. The service as mentioned although all over the place it was very nice and thoughtful. I would definitely come here again when in the area. Thanks a bunch for the recs. Can't wait to try their other dishes.

I've been thinking about this meal and how good the sauce is for those noodles !! Definitely will be going back! Service was also incredible and provided for a beautiful environment for our Saturday outing.

I'd give this place 3.5 stars. I don't know if this place would have been better on a weekend due to being staffed better, but we'll see. I would still go back. My husband and I came on a Tuesday night around 8:30. There were a few tables open, but they were all dirty and covered in previous guests' plates. The host told us to wait there until they could get it cleaned up. It didn't seem too priority though and we waited awhile. It also took a bit to get the menu and a water order in. The table was really sticky so we felt like we couldn't put our elbows up. That being said, the food was good, the waitress was nice, and The food came out quickly. We ordered the sunset roll and the Cajun roll. We also ordered this thing called a firecracker that wasn't on the menu. It's a fried rice with spicy tuna on top. It also came with avocado on top. It was good. The Cajun roll was my favorite. Overall, I'd go back, but I'm hoping the service is slightly better and the place is cleaner.

Perfect for anniversary dinner:…read more Omakase sushi is one of the most refined and memorable dining experiences you can have, especially if you appreciate attention to detail, freshness, and craftsmanship. From the moment you sit down, there's a clear sense that this is not just a meal--it's a curated journey guided entirely by the chef's expertise and intuition. What makes omakase stand out is the trust you place in the chef. Instead of choosing dishes yourself, you allow the chef to present a sequence of sushi that highlights the best ingredients available that day. This often results in a progression that feels intentional and balanced, starting with lighter, more delicate flavors and gradually moving toward richer, more complex pieces. Each bite is thoughtfully designed to showcase the natural qualities of the fish, the texture of the rice, and the subtle interplay of seasoning. The freshness of the ingredients is immediately noticeable. High-quality omakase typically features fish flown in from top markets, and you can taste the difference. The fish is clean, tender, and often melts in your mouth. The rice, which is just as important as the fish, is seasoned perfectly--slightly warm, lightly vinegared, and shaped with precision so it holds together without being dense. Another standout aspect is the craftsmanship. Watching the chef prepare each piece right in front of you adds a level of appreciation you don't get with standard dining. Every movement is deliberate, from slicing the fish to forming the rice to brushing on just the right amount of soy or adding a touch of wasabi. It becomes clear that years of training and discipline go into even the simplest-looking piece of sushi. Omakase also introduces you to varieties of fish and preparations you might never order on your own. This expands your palate and helps you discover new favorites. Seasonal ingredients often play a role, which keeps the experience dynamic and unique each time you go. Service is typically intimate and attentive, especially if you're seated at the counter. The chef may explain each piece, offer guidance on how to eat it, or adjust the pacing based on your preferences. This interaction adds a personal element that enhances the overall experience. While omakase can be more expensive than regular sushi, the value lies in the quality, skill, and overall experience. It's not just about eating--it's about enjoying a carefully orchestrated meal that reflects both tradition and creativity. Overall, omakase sushi delivers a level of quality and thoughtfulness that's hard to match. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines artistry, flavor, and a sense of occasion, omakase is absolutely worth it.

All of the servers were friendly, attentive, and quick to check in on us. We never had to flag anyone down or wait long for assistance. The menu offers a great variety of options, making it easy to find something for everyone. We ordered the Black Garlic Ramen, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Garlic Edamame, and a variety of rolls. Everything came out quickly, was fresh, and tasted great. The ramen and rolls were especially enjoyable, and there wasn't much left behind except for the broth. The only item that missed the mark for me was the Garlic Edamame. It was coated in quite a bit of sauce, which ended up overpowering the flavor of the edamame itself. I'd recommend ordering it with less sauce or asking for it on the lighter side if possible. Overall, the prices were reasonable, the food was good, and the service was attentive. If I'm back in the area, I'd definitely stop by again.

The grilled fish and fried shrimp heads were also delicious, fried to a crisp, and made a great side dish. Overall, I was very satisfied with my meal and give it a five-star rating! We have tried other local sushi places around the area and we always find ourselves comparing everything to this place. My daughter asked for another cherry and she brought a whole bowl. When you go to the restroom right before dinner and this is what you see, it is very unappetizing. 2) our chef was very boring and did the bare minimum, even after I requested a chef who is extra good with kids when I made my reservation. The restaurant is clean and inviting, and the staff consistently contributes to a positive dining experience. One area that could be improved is the organization of the menu. The lunch menu and regular menu are separate, so matching lunch specials to photos of the rolls can be a little confusing at first. That said, I imagine it becomes much easier once you're familiar with the menu and have visited a few times. I've tried the lunch sushi special ($23.95), which includes half portions of select rolls and offers a good variety for the price. The sushi is more westernized in style, which is common for many sushi restaurants in the area. If you're looking for specialty rolls and creative combinations, you'll likely find plenty to enjoy here. Compared with other local sushi restaurants, Toro Sushi's biggest strengths are its attentive service, reasonable prices, and generous portions. Like many sushi spots in Temecula and Murrieta, the menu leans heavily toward westernized specialty rolls rather than a traditional sushi bar experience. The lunch special offers particularly good value, making Toro a strong option for casual dining and sushi roll fans. Service is notably better than many comparable local restaurants, which helps set it apart. Overall, Toro Sushi is a solid neighborhood sushi spot that I'd happily return to. While it may not be the place to seek out a highly traditional sushi experience, it delivers fresh food, great service, and good value, especially at lunch.
