I'll start off with why I gave this place 2 stars. I initially gave it one because I bought a box of whoppers and they taste like shit and extremely stale. So I'm going to assume they were old. Whoppers are supposed to be malty and you just let them melt in your mouth. But this box did not do me any justice. Here's what's great about this place. ZERO STARS !!!! He district manager .....today was attacking me and my family. I was asking another worker in the store to take a picture of my son and I . The container to one of the candies was open as I passed my phone to her when I came back .... The district manager was behind me and took it upon herself to close the case and also take the clamp from my hand. As I said to her I'm taking a picture with my son and also getting candy she stated. She said there you go you got your picture now get out. And I said what is wrong with you .... She responded ... It doesn't matter if this candy is open and if a fly touched the candy she had to damage everything . So what are you doing . And I said I'm getting my candy what's is the problem ? She responded so get the candy are you done . ....all with an attitude and closed the candy and told me to get out of her store she is a district manager and she will call security . This woman said after she will give me her business card and then went to the register and never did. She called security. All I wanted was her name and all of the workers refused to give it to me. I'm a huge sweets sucker and this store is a mini candy land. There's so much candy and all types of candy. I always go for the many different flavors of sour gummy rings they have. I come out with like a 5 pound bag every time. They also have cool mints with funny sayings on the cans which I love. They have all kinds of cool candy that you'll probably never imagine catching your eyes on. Whether you want to buy candy or just be amazed, this store is for all of you. They also have cool pillows and stuffed mini friends like a Bob Marley Ted bear I got. The staff if super energetic and down to earth which is great! This store is awesome but it's always pretty packed with tourists and stuff but hey it's worth it, trust me ! At this location, there's a Jelly Bean replica of the Statue of Liberty. It's right at the doors to the bridge/walkway on the New York New York side connecting to the MGM. They accept Credit/Debit cards. Be prepared to pay a little extra than you're used to at other candy places. read more

Since covid the selection has really gone down alot. They have many if their candies that are pre wrapped. They also had a pretty good sale on their pez candy. The only down side was the staffing there in the store. It was very unprofessional, there was a group of four people standing towards the middle of the store talking very unprofessionally. I had asked them a question about product and they had not heard me the first they were just talking still. Then I asked again but louder while saying excuse me, they slightly heard me, then i had to repeat my question. Before asking the question again the group of people looked at me as if I was interrupting them. I asked my question and then said thank you and changed my direction from them. There was also a man who was eating product when it came out from the box and he looked to be working, he was also part of the group that was standing in the middle of the storw what he was eating was a yellow popcorn bag. He popped it open and started eating it out on the sales floor while others were around him. He was husky had a potbelly and short black hair. The language he used was alternative names for African American people that started with an "n". That word is not professional at all and should not be used in the work place. I come to Universal studios city walk often and i have never had an experience like this before at this store. I am not sure if they have new staff but the staff needs to understand what is work ethics. Very disappointing to see a place use such volger language. read more

I got cavities just walking past this place! This is one of the most amazing candy shops into which I have ever taken my teeth. It's the home of the "World's Largest Snickers Bar" ($19.99 or so) as well as several other novelty and over sized items. Take a look at the huge gummy bear ($40.00 worth of sticky!) that weighs about as much as a bowling ball. While they have tons of novelty candies, the best part of this store, in my opinion, is their large selection of retro candy, such as candy cigarettes, bubblegum cigars, Fizzies, Pearson's Nut Goodies, etc. This is stuff many people over 40 remember fondly before political correctness killed our childhoods. I bought a packet of Fizzies, a giant box of NERDS, and some "Doctor's Choice" (lol) candy cigarettes for the pure nostalgia value. If you have a sweet tooth after spending the day at Universal Studios or you want to bring home a really unique gift, pop next door to It's Sugar and chow down on some of these unique goodies. Wow! Even as an adult, you come here and you feel "like a kid in a candy store." There is a huge off white jelly bean sculpture in the shape of Marilyn Monroe on display in the front, upon entering, that was valued over $24,000. It's quite unique. But "do not touch" as the sign instructs. There are a number of bulk candy self-service stations where you scoop your selections into a plastic baggie (1/4 pound or pound increments- it's weighed at the cashier anyway- gummi bears, nonpareils, chocolates, etc.). There are specialty items like chocolate covered ants and crickets (yuck! not for me, I'll pass, but hey to each his own, right?). I also saw lollipops, and dipped apples (in the glass display at the counter). There are huge-monstrous candy offerings like the reese's peanut butter cup (when you see it, you'll understand) or extra lonngggg red licorice- my husband saw the pbc at the Sam's Club at home. There is a jelly bean station according to color (kinda reminds me of the M & M's station at M & M World back home on the Strip). There are candy-related items (pillows, bags, etc.) as well. This is a huge store with lots of different types of candy (it's not just chocolate folks). I enjoyed looking at everything as well as choosing some bulk candy for me and my husband. It's a bright store and the aisles are not all crunched in- you actually have some space to walk around and browse. It's definitely a must-stop. Candy, candy, candy!!! There were so many kids walking around at the City Walk that I wasn't even sure if they were sugar high or just being normal hyper kids. I spotted this candy place while walking on the walk and man...are there a lot of choices of candies. What attracted me the most was the Candy statue! Don't touch it, else you'd have to pay 25k for it! I was really tempted to get the 5lb gummy bear box, but heck, I didn't know where I would put it if i gotten it. Maybe another time. Great place to look around with your kids, just becareful of feeding them too much sugar. They might drive you crazy on the walk if you just barely start. read more

If you're heading to a movie it's still better to come here and get candy then to buy it at the AMC though. read more

This ain't your ordinary candy store. Sure you will find the bins of normal chocolates and gummy, but what gets people coming in is the novelty items and oversized candy boxes. While strolling around City Walk you can't help to notice the absurd amount of candy. You walk in and you see everything from pool floaties, to obscene magnets, drinking games, candy logo t-shirts, plush pillows... and more and more. They have something for everyone if you are looking for a sugar fix. Nothing fresh but plenty of candy bits to fill bags to go. Just browsing is a great time killer and worth a laugh. They have jumbo sized candy and assorted boxes of some of your favorites, and a section of nostalgic candy for old timers, and a adult themed section in the back right side. They had an oversized box of rice Krispy treats, and other oversized candy, but not my favorites... and a little pricey. Old time candy from the 50's and 60's for the old timers like rolling, abba zabba, bit o honey, etc. the adult themed section had games and novelty items like Trump toilet paper, etc. in another section they had a cereal called colon blow with super fiber... I think the ingredients listed wood chips or something. A see through container of crickets or something like that... yuck! Loved this place, though I do not eat sweets at all it was great watching my families face light up walking into this store. From my 5 year old nephew to my 65 year old dad. Everyone was in their personal sweet happy place. They purchase jaw breakers, the large cereal box candy, gummy bears, chocolate, toys, even root beer. Yes, It's Sugar had so many great varieties. They even had my FAVORITE soda and a North Carolina classic... Cheerwine. Its not often that you'll find cheerwine on the west coast. Don't know for sure as I didn't get the guys name but he was a real jerk. Before ringing me up for the $50 worth of candy I selected, this employee felt compelled to lecture me and my husband for the one piece of candy I ate while standing in line. Well excuse me, I was under the impression the $14 per pound price tag compensated for the one piece of candy I ate in addition to the many pieces I saw littering the floor and counters around the bulk bins. But This is why I'm giving a 2 Star rating yesterday instead of having a great time/expense shopping for candy as I always do with my husband and kids, this employee (Chris) comes out from the employee room with a broom to go pick up some jelly beans my 8 year old daughter accidentally dropped while bagging to purchase, so when he came out from the room, I apologize but he rudely ignored me, then when he pick up the candy that accidentally was dropped,he rudely turn to me and shuts "you cant try the candy before purchasing the candy" once this was said to me so rude and embarrassing. I ask the other employees for his name because none of them had a name tag and she just told me to asked him because she couldn't give me that information, when I was just asking for his name. I came here on a Friday night (9-30-2016). This store has lots of unique products but they can be expensive. The service here is mediocre. The lady at the register who rung me up seemed like she didn't want to be working that day. She also forgot to put 1 product in my bag which I paid for. Had I not checked my bag before leaving the shopping center I would of been ripped off. After realizing I was missing one product I came back to the same cashier and she just ignored me until she finished ringing somebody else. She then grabbed the receipt out of my hand and began searching for my paid item underneath her table. The whole time she never apologized or even said a word to me. She just handed me my item and I left. Customer service here needs to be revaluated. read more

I felt like a kid in a candy shop! No but really this place is awesome if your looking to get a quick sugar high! As far as candy goes, they have basically anything you can think of. Even over sized candies like the one you can see of the Reese's bar in my pics. They also have the option to fill up a bag of candy of your choice and pay by weight. I ended up buying chocolates filled with tequila to eat during the movie we went to see after. They were actually pretty strong...Obviously you can assume the prices were a little high but that's expected from a candy shop located in City Walk. How about Hostess cupcake shaped purses and wallets? How bout boxers w/the Tootsie Pop owl asking you "how many licks?" My seldom-seen sweet tooth had an orgasm in here. My inner (and outer) kid came bursting out and I didn't stop them. There's just something unique about this store..and I think it knows it cause they sell a lot of souvenir items- shot glasses, T-shirts, Pjs, etc. The outside of the store has neon lights and sexy models posing w/candy. I just had to buy a shot glass for a souvenir of my experience here. I went through aisles of cute, unique items and tons more aisles of old school candy I haven't seen in years! Remember candy legos and big league soft chew? gahh! I love the candy lunch boxes, which I'm secretly waiting to come back in style. There are walls dedicated to all M&M colors. This is a pretty fun store with a lot of things to look at like the jelly bean Marilyn Monroe and retro candy selection. They had these mini jawbreakers in a case with a sign on it that said "Tiny Balls" so of course me being the mature person I am had to take a picture of it. I bought some chocolate bars with funny wrappers on them to send to my friend for her birthday and this is where stars begin to drop. The cashier was on the unpleasant side. He rang me up, I paid, and I thought he would put the candy in a bag because that's usually the way things go when you buy something right? After he gave me my change he just sighed and looked around. The bags were right in front of me so I just decided to grab one to put my stuff in. IT'SUGAR was a must-go back when I had a Universal Studios annual pass! I always brought the goods from here inside the park as a snack. This place is a little pricey but worth it in my opinion since I am a sweet tooth! There's candies in here that i forgot even existed! I always go for the juicy pear Jelly Bellies! Mmmm... I get a separate bag for those babies! They even have Razzles for you 80s kids out there! There's interesting products for sale here and some pretty groovy decorations. Located right next to the AMC Theater, it is the perfect place to stock up on candy before heading to see a movie (greater selection at a much better price). IT'Sugar also sells nostalgia candy and has a wide variety of Pez dispensers, which threatens the nearby Sparky's, which specializes in retro candy but is much smaller. read more

While it's easy for me to walk past Sweet Factory in the mall, a gigantic, brightly-lit, tchotchke-filled candy store beckons me like flies to a bug zapper. I really did go in with the intention of not buying anything: the retro-themed candy shirts were cool, the Hello Kitty change purses were cute, the gigantic variety of candy, including plenty I'd never seen, were laid out temptingly around the store, with the bins of mix-your-own candy organized by type (gummy, sour, chocolate, marshmallow, etc.) on islands, plus chocolate truffles behind glass at the counter. And, despite my best intentions, we were in there too long and I caved and ended up with a bag in my hand, scooping candy in. Why a three star review despite everything I just wrote? First: price. Bulk candy was expensive, and I ended up spending way more than I normally would on junk food. So far as I could tell, there was only one scale, and it was hidden over by the wall, there weren't any at the little islands. Second fault: the quality of the bulk candy just wasn't that GOOD. The red licorice wheels were old and hard, the licorice bites were waxy and gross, the cherry sours had a chalky texture/flavor in the coating. I ended up eating just my sour cherry shapes and the red Swedish fish, yet paid ~$7.50 for that. Totally not worth it. If you skip the bulk candy, though, you should be ok, and it's a neat place for gifts. read more

If you're some kind of chocolate purist, you might prefer the chocolate shop a few doors down but there really isn't a good thing there they don't have at Sugar. Everything from jawbreakers to starburst to M&Ms to carmels... everything. They even have my much-loved chocolate licorice (hard to find and under appreciated, says me). Every seen a gummi bear the size of your fist? They have one. It's like 5 bucks but if you spring for it, do let me know-- I am dying to know if it's any good. One thing missing I always enjoyed: chocolate covered gummi bears. Is it pricey? Well, at this point, show me a candy shop that isn't. Skip the shit movie candy and splurge on some goodies here. Secret confession: sometimes, I only stop at CityWalk to get my goodies from It'Sugar. Even if I have to park my car in the Metro lot and hike ALL the way up that steep hell of a hill!...And then I won't feel as guilty for eating the whole bag before I get back to the car. :) This store really does bring out the little child in me. Open spaces, colorful candies and candy novelty items (some of which are more...adult), not to mention a humongous JellyBelly statue of Marilyn Monroe (ugh, the temptation to just eat a little....)! There are several stations of candy throughout the stores: a licorice station, sour belts, chocolate, and massive multi-colored columns of M&Ms and Jellybeans...but the enormous candy station in the middle of the store is my FAV! There is really nothing lacking in the store, from "seasonal" candy corn to weird gummy shapes like centipedes and octopi (a personal favorite being the butterflies) to the more traditional gummy bears. Then again, not even the gummy bears are all that traditional at ITSugar. There are more flavors of gummy bears here than I have ever seen in one store! And they come in small or covered in chocoloate or big and crunchy or sour or huge or on a freaking STICK! My dad goes gaga over their sour gummy bears, and I would personally never exit the store without possessing crunchy gummy bears. It is very easy to spend 10-15 dollars on what would seem to a normal candy consumer like a normal amount of candy. But if you are in Universal CityWalk, there's no better place to enjoy a sugar fix or sugar rush or sugar high! read more
