I was in the area, so I stopped in to the store again the other day, and ended up meeting the owner. Really nice guy, helpful, friendly, and a perfect example of what the owner of a local family run business should be like. Best new Swedish candy store in town! If you're familiar with Sockerbit, I'd say this is a step above that. The only other place I've been that I prefer more is BonBon in NYC. They have a good selection, with some seeming slightly more fresh than others in terms of texture. Why am I just trying this place out ? Omg ... the candy here is so good. So many options of Swedish sweets made just right. So many flavors and textures. Love it all. I got to choose a variety of candy one or two of each just to try and let me tell you .... They are all soooo good. Specially the cute marshmallow ones and the sweet and sour ones willed with soft candy. Sour strawberry Rambo bites is the one I loved. Really good candy and reasonably priced. Bubs!!! So happy that this location doesn't have a big online presence as it means when we come into the store we can actually find the rare items. Bubs are my favorite and sockerbit no longer has a good selection in person or online, so I needed to find a new spot. Beyond happy I ran across Kandi. Colorful, pretty nostalgic store. Lots of whimsical gummy or marshmallow candy. Limited amount of chocolates. They charge $19 per pound but my friend had fun choosing, literally like a kid in a candy shop. They sell some prepackaged gift bags, unmarked. It made me miss The Sweet Factory of decades gone by. The employees greet you but otherwise leave you alone. It's clean and organized but a lot of unused space, one long bare wall for aesthetics. There's a fun color changing full length mirror. Stopped in here to get my daughter some Swedish candy she absolutely loves the stuff. We came in on a Sunday and the store was empty, which made it easy to browse. We were greeted right away by the associate at the register, which was nice. My daughter had sent me a list of what she wanted, so I grabbed a bag and scooper and went to work filling it up. They had everything she asked for, including sour skull Bubs, banana caramel Bubs, bubble gum flavored Bubs, and sour Coke bottles. I ended up with just under a pound, and it came out to about $18. Clean interior and set up but I wish they gave tongs as an option for those that just want a piece or two of some candies, it took longer with the scoop. Another thing is that the whole row of candies open up, which caught me by surprise. Candy wise they taste different from regular American candies so if you're trying it for the first time I recommend only getting a piece or two. Took my wife and kids on a little adventure from Bell to check out Kändi in Studio City and it was totally worth the drive. The store was easy to find, located right on the main strip. Street parking only, but we found a spot pretty quickly. The shop itself is clean, bright, and has a modern Scandinavian vibe. We picked out a sweet little haul: jelly hearts, Coca-Cola gummies, and peach bubs simple picks, but all hit the spot. The kids were hyped, and even my wife (who's usually not big on candy) found a few she liked. Service was awesome, they were very attentive when a bin was running low. Rhubarb, lemon, and licorice all showed up, brought snacks, and started dancing. I didn't even know I liked rhubarb until this licorice showed up like, "Surprise! You do now." I've only ordered online, but the service? Impeccable. Like, if this licorice could deliver itself with a tuxedo and a bow tie, it probably would. This store is significantly better than the candy options found at Sockerbit in WeHo, and substantially cheaper. I met the sweetest girls working there, who were super helpful and kind. They iterated that this is a small business that orders direct from Sweeden. I will happily spend all my candy budget for the month (not an insignificant sum of money) at this location, I don't care that it's a 30-40 min drive from me in traffic.
