Walking down the aisle and seeing it for the first time is a moment I will never forget. It was absolutely breathtaking. I threw so many random details and inspiration photos her way, and somehow she took all of it and turned it into a cohesive, stunning color palette that felt effortless and intentional. One detail that stood out most were the orchids. In the lead-up to the wedding, Jessica actually texted me asking if I liked the flower, and the gorgeous pink-and-purple spotted orchids she ended up weaving throughout the design became one of my absolute favorites. That flower will forever remind me of my wedding day. But my favorite detail has to be the guest trees that held our seating place cards. They were probably the idea I was most excited about. I had this whimsical vision of a tree where guests could pick up their escort cards, shared through one inspiration photo and a lot of me rambling, and Jessica just got it. For the evening reception, she didn't just bring the idea to life, she elevated it into two breathtaking cascading trees that were accessible from every side. It was even more beautiful than anything I had imagined and truly felt like a centerpiece of the entire experience. Beyond the florals themselves, Jessica and her team were simply wonderful to work with. They were organized, responsive, and made the entire process feel easy and calm, which is no small feat during wedding planning. Walking into each event and seeing everything come together was one of the best parts of the weekend, and our guests are still talking about how stunning everything was. Jessica took my daughter's vision and designed unique and elegant florals, exceeding all expectations. She installed the venue florals at the ceremony location (outdoor gazebo) and managed this even with thunderstorms prior to the wedding. The bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, corsages/boutonnieres, the florals for the gazebo that incorporated a houpa and was transitioned to the pavilion, table settings were amazing. We had vases at the head table for the bridesmaids and bride to place their bouquets, incorporating them into the decorations. We were able to take the centerpiece floral arrangements at the end of the night-and they lasted several days after the wedding. Jessica was also very responsive from the start to end and I felt like she looked to see how to best incorporate the floral arrangements from the ceremony to the reception areas. It is inexpensive. 2. It is public trans/cab/parking friendly. 3. The ballroom is mostly attractive and has a large dance floor. The building could use some new paint, though. 4. You bring everything in, except for chairs and tables. (also kind of a negative if you get easily overwhelmed and it involves a lot of research to get good prices). It also allows you a lot of flexibility with food and beverages. 5. The bridal suite is rather large, though it does not have a bathroom nearby. Negatives - 1. See above #4. It was kind of a nightmare to buy and transport all of the extra things we had to bring. No one told us that we could bring anything earlier than 4 hours before the start time. 2. The bartender that I was forced to hire through the ballroom was not a bartender. He didn't know the difference between the red and white wines; he couldn't make a bloody mary with bloody mary mix and forget about my request for a dirty martini. My friends had to walk him through a bloody mary and the dirty martini. I wasted money on a lot of standard bar stuff that was not used at all - like simple syrup; Rose's lime juice; pickles for the bloody marys, etc. 3. Our group allegedly cause damage to one of the bathroom walls. The wedding was on a Friday and Michelle's had 3 events posted to their online calendar after our wedding. I did not receive a call until Monday morning regarding the damage. I am not saying that it is impossible that our group did not cause the damage, but I wish that someone had called us on Saturday or emailed pictures of the damage. Basically, we lost a chunk of our deposit for something that I am not sure happened during our reception. 4. Binny's said that they had problems delivering to that specific location and wanted a 4 hour window for delivery. They weren't really clear what problems they had in the past. We had to use a courier for the alcohol to ensure that it was delivered on time. Long story short, I would probably recommend having an event at Michelle's if you are on a tight budget. Just don't expect a real bartender and take pictures of the ballroom before you leave!

We don't just mean getting an approximation, we mean a fully accurate interpretation that honestly enhanced those stunning images. We used Life in Bloom for décor for our Indian wedding with four events across four separate venues all around Chicago. We are still receiving praise for how amazing each event looked, with guests specifically highlighting the attention to detail as well as the gorgeous floral arrangements. One guest told us that she had been taking pictures of every single floral arrangement because they all looked perfect. Another guest sent us a message that said, "the Wedding Mandap and the bridal walkway were the most beautiful I have ever seen. The floral arrangements at every event were mind blowing." From our very first meeting, Rachel, Tim, and Sara spent a lot of time understanding our wishes. They then crafted color palettes and mood boards for each event, giving each one a completely unique identity while making everything feel cohesive with consistent motifs throughout. One of our worries with so many events was that it might end up feeling repetitive, but every single event felt completely different to the one that came before. In this process, we loved seeing how excited the Life in Bloom team was, working off each other and continuously suggesting new ideas. They worked well together while never losing sight of what we wanted or what made sense logistically. When we arrived at our first décor sample, we knew we had made the right choice. Everything looked stunning, and their initial placements of linens, napkins, and tablescapes were already so well thought out. The actual events were no different, looking jaw-dropping at every single venue. We loved that we got to see each room first, and there are plenty of pictures of us literally on the floor in awe. We wish we got to see guests' reactions for the room reveals because we know every single one left people speechless. We also wanted to highlight how easy it was to work with the Life in Bloom team. We never felt any friction or resistance. We loved seeing them at every venue, watching our reactions from afar but never interrupting us. We later learned that one of the installers from one of our venues never showed up, and apparently Tim himself jumped in for an emergency complex installation of the large centerpiece item. On our wedding ceremony day, there was a lot of unpredictable weather. Instead of forcing us into the much easier rain plan, Life in Bloom worked with us through a lot of fluid decisions and installation that let us have our dream wedding outdoors, something we appreciate so much. We really hope people look through the Life in Bloom portfolio and see their impressive work, especially their florals. They did so many custom things for us that were all very intricate, and they had to work on a ton of different line items in many different locations, day after day. We can't recommend them enough.

Sometimes the vendors you end up choosing end up moving businesses and that's exactly what happened with Kehoe. We met with 4 different decor companies for my son's recent bar mitzvah and opted to go with Kehoe because we absolutely loved Mal- her energy, her warmth and (most of all) her fresh ideas. She was lovely and easy to work with throughout the entire process so I was bummed to learn a month before our big event that she she had moved companies. However, my planner assured me that we were in very good hands because Tom Kehoe was taking over our event and that most of our event was already in production. I guess this is the benefit of going with a large company like Kehoe. I do think things were a little more chaotic in the few weeks leading up to the bar mitzvah as Tom and his team (we mostly worked with Sydney) got up to speed. We had to redirect with some proofs at the last minute, but the finished product was more amazing than I even expected. The tennis decor they designed was youthful, classy and absolutely breathtaking. Even big sister (my 15 year old daughter) who is tough to impress walked in and said "WOW- this is actually really cool." And while there were many amazing wow moments from the night the #1 comment I received over and over and over again was that decor was unbelievable. It was definitely pricey and tough to swallow spending what we spent on what's essentially a 13 year olds birthday party, but I gave the same budget to 3 other well known decor companies and the budget went further with Kehoe than any of the others. And I thought their ideas were also more innovative and appropriate for a 13 year old boy. Overall, I couldn't have been more pleased. I'm bummed that Mal herself moved on, but would definitely consider using Kehoe again providing there is another designer who is a creative and fun to work with.
