I needed to get a quick and cute bouquet for my mom who was visiting for Mother's Day. I was on a tight schedule so I ran over around 10:30am. When I walked in, the vibe was a bit off yet I still stayed and asked if I just went ahead and built my own bouquet. One of the employees was a bit standoffish and short with her responses. Another employee noticed and tried to warm up the experience. There were not a lot of choices, although they did say they were getting more later. Once I finished, I was still getting rude energy from that employee, while the other young lady was assisting me. During my checkout, another customer walked in and had a completely different welcome which left a sour taste. My bouquet was pretty but small, yet felt very expensive. Safe to say I will not return and plan accordingly when I need a bouquet. read more

My son got me a 6 month flower delivery. Flowers were beautiful at first. Last two deliveries were about half the size and not nearly as nice. Staff members have involved me and/or my partner in the picking of flowers and the look of the arrangement as the grab different flowers. After the arrangement has been picked, the staff always make sure to double-check that we are okay with the price point if it is more than expected. I was torn on writing this review after receiving my Valentines Day bouquet from here. I had asked my boyfriend to order from Field & Florist because I had been following them for a while and love their designs. He requested specific flowers I like i.e. ranunculus and peonies and asked specifically that tulips and the like were not to be included. For $125 delivered, he was promised the bouquet would be "substantial." Substantial it was not, sadly. The bouquet was very pretty but very tiny for what he paid. I thought it was a decent bouquet for the $60-70 I thought he paid until he called me disappointed saying he had spent $125 on this arrangement. I understand the flowers he requested are not cheap but there were not many and the rest was made up of stock flowers and tulips. I still enjoyed them and I think the bouquet was arranged beautifully. There is just better value to be had elsewhere. read more

The bouquet I received didn't look anything close to the pictures and was very small. Someone brought it back for me and they attempted to fix it, but it ended up looking very sloppy and thrown together. I was waking down division one morning after grabbing a coffee and this adorable little shop stopped me in my tracks! Its in the basement of a building but caught my attention due to a few big planters full of greenery and a little sign guiding me down the small set of stairs. I walked in and was greeted by a small retail set up with pots, and ceramics, bunches of flowers and other knickknacks. There was also a room with big windows were I could see a florist working her magic. Pretty cool! They had a couple of small pots with plants already planted and these caught my attention right away! The pot was stark white with some texture and had a beautiful dark rubber plant included. It was reasonably priced and I snagged it up rather quickly. There were quite a few super cute options and it was hard to make a decision. If I hadn't moved away I know I would have gone back to add to my collection of plant babies! Last but not least, the staff was super friendly. They let me know that the wild flowers they had in stock were locally grown and they advised me on how frequently to water my exciting new addition! read more

They did so many beautiful arrangements for my wedding day, but my favorite things were: 1) they created a beautiful flower veil for the ceremony tree at my wedding venue, and 2) they made me beautiful flower crowns for myself and my bridesmaids! My fiancé got me flowers for Valentine's Day and gave them to me yesterday. He was a little disappointed with them because he said he spent $125 and was expecting something a little nicer and I have to agree with him. Every year he has gotten me flowers from a florist in Lakeview which have been gorgeous but we recently moved to wicker park so he tried a new florist. This is the cutest, most lovely little flower shop I've ever been to. The staff was really helpful in helping me decide on flowers for my weekend guests that would match the decor in the guest room. The ordering was easy and the sender trusted F&F to design something tasteful and modern without much direction - they did just that. I ordered flowers for my daughter over the phone from out of state. They were very accommodating but there ws a slight hic-cup in the ordering process. Heidi called right away (on her day off) when the hic-cup was discovered, and she went way out of her way to make things right. She even delivered the flowers personally after hours. So I don't know many other florists nor had an excuse to until I got married, but my goodness if the experience is anything like what Heidi and Molly provide then WOW. My husband and I sat down with Heidi to go over my thoughts of what I envisioned for the wedding day. 1) It was pretty vague and I barely had a color scheme. I just had a very sad start of a wedding Pinterest board. 2) My now husband was like..."Flowers, please." But somehow we started bouncing ideas back and forth, and the look materialized into something perfect and coincidentally seasonal. (I loved peonies and lucked out that our wedding date was when they're blossoming.) This leads me to why I love Field & Florist...not only is the work stunning, but the flowers are sourced locally and they are making their business as sustainable as possible, which was important to me. It was a bonus though that the farm they use to grow flowers is a 3 minute drive from my parents' home, so it felt extra personable. In fact, once it was springtime, we visited the farm to help plant some of this season's flowers, and it was great to be able to engage so closely with one of our vendors. They really worked with me on helping me find the right vessels and also adapted quickly to add in last minute ceremony flora. Anyways, after all the time leading up to the big day, we were already very smitten with Field & Florist, but then we saw the arrangements. Oh my God, they were gorgeous. My girls and I swooned over our bouquets, but by the time we arrived at the venue we had some family run up to me and say, "Did you see your reception area yet? THE FLOWERS ARE PERFECT." Throughout the planning process, Heidi was flexible, patient, and offered great suggestions and guidance. On top of everything, she designed an incredible chuppah for our wedding ceremony. My wedding planner scheduled meetings for me with two different florists (after giving me about 8 to choose my favorites from - and they were ALL amazing). I felt more of a connection with Heidi and liked her ideas better, so I chose her. I am so happy that I did! Heidi is both a flower farmer and florist, so she grows many of her own flowers and the other flowers she uses come from local farms. Buying local flowers is much more sustainable and better for the environment than having them shipped from all over the world (like most florists do!) I love to support businesses with sustainable practices. I didn't have too much of an idea of what I wanted my flowers to look like besides a more natural, wild shape involving sunflowers. I wanted some white pumpkins around the space, too. Heidi put together a very professional looking proposal with photos of all of the flowers she planned to use in each piece I asked for (bouquets, boutonnieres, table pieces, garlands, etc) so I could get a good idea of what it would look like. I suggested a few changes and she created a revised proposal. When Heidi arrived the day-of with my flowers, I was so happy. Everything was perfect. She did a great job with every single piece and installed them all in the space (and on my bridal party). I couldn't imagine the flowers or the space looking any better. The flowers are grown organically and sustainably, without the use of dangerous chemical sprays or synthetic fertilizers. Heidi, the owner and farmer, lovingly raises the flowers herself and then artfully arranges them into beautiful pieces. Working with F&F means supporting local small business and ethical, sustainable farming but won't blow your budget! Heidi and I (the bride) met one-on-one on the farm and discussed my ideas for centerpieces. She asked insightful questions to determine my style. Most importantly, she respected my budget, cast no judgment, and didn't pressure me to upgrade or make me feel that I would receive anything but lovely blooms. On the wedding day, Heidi showed up early and exuded a calm, happy demeanor. Without any fuss, she happily whipped up some extra boutonnieres (not on our order, my fault!) and transformed my mother's pin-on corsage to a wrist corsage quickly and easily. At this critical time, she was prepared, competent, and accommodating. In addition to the centerpieces, bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres, we asked Heidi to source some potted plants for our ceremony. She worked with me to choose the best plants for the season and for our color scheme and found quality pots -- all at a very reasonable price. One week before the wedding, she was able to add an additional pot to the order without a problem. (I would have understood if this wasn't possible, but she was able to do it!) Our centerpieces were gorgeous -- I literally gasped when I walked into the reception hall. There was a truly artistic mix of blooms, grasses, leaves, berries, and even herbs at each table. I have been the recipient of many beautiful Field and Florist arrangements; flower shares and gifts. Recently I received an herb planter! Heidi has an amazing sense of design. She selects beautiful blooms and then arranges them in artful ways. Somehow, she manages to make what is already beautiful even more so with her attention to color, form and texture. There is something wonderfully organic about her approach to arranging, as well as growing the flowers.
