    Crab stuffed halibut

Came back to this establishment after a year had past for another birthday. I love seafood, but for some reason this menu did not really excite me that much. Food was definitely better this time around. I opted with the seafood salad, which was what it sounded like. The one thing that stood out to me were the smoked scallops, which I could have just ate a whole plate of. There was a fair amount of seafood amongst the plate. Tip: Mondays are half price bottled wine, which was probably the best deal of the night. Now for my salad and bowl of soup I think was around $50+. I'm not afraid to spending money, but I can say you must be paying for the view, and I get it. But the overall price we paid. Idk. The service was a glaring issue, in which I think there were a total of maybe 10 tables that were taken in the whole restaurant. The server was nice enough, but not attentive at all. Now I'm not going to lie the birthday boy set up his dinner for 7pm on a Monday. We did not know that Ivars closed at 8....and no one even told us at any point. I get this was to be polite, but had we known we probably would have been out of there a lot earlier. We did end up leaving at 10 to 9, but probably could have been gone a lot earlier had anyone mentioned that they closed at 8 or we didn't have to wait for our bill for 20+ minutes. I did feel bad after knowing we stayed so late, but like I said there was a definite lack of communication. Also one last thing. Charging for the bread, I don't know if that's new, but seems rather silly to me. I feel like I'm being generous with the 4 star review, in actuality closer to 3.5, I just feel bad making them stay until after close.

This place is much more for the view than the food. Our server was great, but they were trying a new menu and my parties dish came out wrong twice. It was comped so they did take care of the issue. I would recommend grabbing good at the walk up and eating outside if the weather is nice rather than sitting down for dinner in the restaurant

I was visiting Seattle and happened upon this restaurant. This restaurant has a great view of the bay so you can eat while enjoying an amazing view. There was plenty of indoor seating so reservations aren't super necessary while dining here. For the entree I got the Alaska halibut and prawn dup. The prawns were delicious and perfectly cooked. They were topped with this sun dried tomato and artichoke cream sauce that was super rich and added a great depth of flavor. The halibut was a little dry, and I didn't end up finishing the whole fish but I cleaned my plate of the prawns. We also got the calamari. Calamari is a 3/5. I've had better calamari at other places for a cheaper price, but not bad. Service here is amazing. I loved the wait staff. I wish I remembered the name of our waitress but every staff here is so sweet and kind. I can't wait to return here for the warm hospitality.

The chowder and fish and chips were great. The rest of the experience not so much. I ordered the new seafood cocktail. Not at all what was described on the menu (shellfish and cocktail sauce), it was sitting in Thai sweet chili sauce. Not what I ordered, not what I wanted. A friend ordered the seafood linguini. Again, not at all as described on the menu, it has a lot of heavy cream sauce. Another friend had the crab cakes, and there was so much mayo(?) and fillers, couldn't find any crab. The warm rolls were delightful. The service was very slow and it was hard to flag down the server. Wouldn't go back.

Its a PNW classic and it always delivers. We made reservations and got a prime dinner table by the window which gave us a great view of the sun setting over the Puget Sound. The menu has a great selection for everyone even the pickiest kids. * Mussels in garlic and wine sauce. This was excellent. Juicy and plump mussels in a delish broth with bread to soak it up. What is there not to like about this combination?! * Crab crusted halibut was delish with a generous serving of fish topped with a perfect crab crust on top. * Alaska sockeye salmon was perfectly cooked and paired well with the sauce. The potato was ok, but would sub it out next time for something else. * Halibut fish and chips was great. Large flakey chucks of hot and most halibut with a crunch. love that it was not greasy at all. I could eat this all day long. * Harissa seared halibut and prawn due was good. The pepper drops did not add much value and would have liked a bit more of the passionfruit sauce otherwise a very strong dish. * Vanilla burnt cream...aka creme brulee...always delivered and had a nice crunch. Enjoyed this. * Chocolate mousse was good as well and rich. paired perfectly with the double espresso. Overall this place is a great PNW dining experience whether you come here for brunch/lunch/dinner. I would not hesitate to come back again.

I called the restaurant before I left my hotel to see if I could bring my 2 pieces of carryon luggage as I was headed to PAE airport after lunch. John the host answered the phone and with no hesitation whatsoever he said sure bring my luggage!!!!! This really impressed me. I arrived by LYFT to the restaurant and the location did not disappoint as it is on the shore of Possession Sound. The interior of the restaurant was warm and welcoming. What a unique place. John sat me by the window facing the Sound. The ferry was passing every few minutes. The view was spectacular!!! My food server Linda M was very prompt and friendly. My beverages arrived quickly. I ordered the fish and chips (cod) and Linda M mentioned the famous clam chowder they serve. Well I ordered a bowl and it was the best clam chowder I had ever tasted !!!! I thanked her for the great recommendation. Soon after my fish and chips arrived and the cod was so most moist and tasty!!!! I highly recommend the clam chowder and the fish and chips !!!!!

Sat promptly, interior had low/cozy lighting with a nice view of the water. Service was good. We started with calamari which had a nice crispy breading. I ordered a 3 piece halibut and chips, halibut was good while the fries were okay, not very crispy. Hubby got a seafood trio that was good just not very much if you're hungry. We ended with the oysters Rockefeller which had good flavor.

Ivar's has been a staple of the Mukilteo waterfront. The restaurant is beautiful inside and has one of the best views. The staff is top notch. Very friendly and definitely a boilerplate for other restaurants. The biggest problem is the food. The menu consists of the same signature dishes they've preparing for years. Not very tasty and mostly bland. Lots of potential, but definitely needs an update.

I love Ivars and wanted to finally try one of their sit down restaurants. We got a couple different seafood dishes that our server recommended. All the seafood was super fresh and tasted great! Even with all the food we had, it wasn't heavy at all or overly sauced/seasoned so you could really taste the seafood. The creme brulee was just ok, but you mainly come here for the stunning view and great seafood. Definitely worth a drive to! Friday at 530 pm nobody here maybe the service should be fast and the food stepped up

Went Friday night around 400 wasn't busy at all service was so slow ordered half dozen shooter they were huge and tasteless wouldn't order shooters again there. I had a wedge salad it was ok a bowl of steamed clams that were also tasteless and a cup of chowder because I was still hungry it was again tasteless I am not a big fan of going out to eat and leaving like I need to eat dinner if this was my first time going to eat here I would not come back the view was excellent but I would have like something good and tasty not tasteless do better

View from our table at Ivar's.

Beautiful sunset view! Truly enjoyed the clam chowder and fish and chips. Loved that the clam chowder had generous clam chucks! We had a basket of sourdough bread. It was ok. A little too hard and not moist. I'd pass on that next time. My friend had the chicken piccata and gave it a B- Next time, stick to the fresh fish options. Service was great--attentive and polite staff.

I've been here a few times throughout the years and realized I haven't written a review yet! Ivar's Mukilteo Landing has been great for Happy Hour for my family and bf! As far as I know, we've eaten lunch here before as well but I distinctly remember more of Happy Hour. The hosts are always so friendly as they welcome you in! The staff is attentive and checking in every now and then! Happy Hour is 3-6pm daily and offers a few good menu items. 1) You have got to try the grilled sockeye salmon sandwich! (Literally the BEST salmon sandwich that Ivar's has on their menu!!!) the salmon is cooked well, and with crispy bacon, crispy onion strips, lettuce, tomato on a ciabatta bun...it's *chef's kiss* Flavors are incredible! 2) I also love their mussels in garlic white wine broth, and their seared ahi tuna! The clam chowder is tasty and thick! You receive views of the water and Whidbey island across. The patio is nice to sit by when it's warmer weather -- you get to see the ferry boats pass by in the distance.

Crab cakes, fried platter, and seafood salad

3 of us were not very hungry so we shared 2 entrees and an app. Portion size were decent. Crab/lobster cakes: not my favorite, it's much more flat and I thought the curry flavor was interesting but overpowered the seafood taste. My friends liked it though. The seafood salad: this was much better than I expected - the smoked scallops were so good and unique, the little shrimp were interesting to eat. The blackened salmon was on the drier side though. I wanted vegetables which is why I got this and I'd get this again. Northwest fried platter: the cod is fluffier than the halibut. The shrimp and clam strips were both decent too - liked the shrimp more. The fries aren't bad and the platter comes with 2 each of cocktail and tartar sauce. I had a flight special that they were running for Earth Day I think where I picked 3 out of 5 wines. The white blend and malbec I liked, but the merlot was not as good. These were all PNW wines. The views were nice and we caught the sunset. Another Diner caught glimpses of seals in the water which is apparently not uncommon.

It depends what you consider "fine dining". Very lovely atmosphere, wonderful menu and scenery. I would say this is not a place for flip flop sandals, but jeans and a nice shirt are fine.

This place is located in a plaza of other restaurants and businesses. Parking was plentiful outside. There were many tables to choose from inside, and it wasn't busy at all when we arrived. We ended up ordering both Inihaw Plates, one with Beef BBQ Ribs and the other one with Chicken BBQ. The plates came with our meat of choice, mac salad, a little salad, and two scoops of rice. I wasn't expecting much but I was wowed when they brought our food out. Presentation was gorgeous. Our ribs and chicken looked pretty good, saucy and plentiful altogether as an entree. When I had that first bite of the Beef BBQ Rib, I was floored. I'm pretty sure I took one bite and was just speechless, I'm not trying to exaggerate. The beef ribs were flavorful, juicy, tender, and fell right off the bone. I couldn't ask for anything more. The mac salad was good, it didn't taste like the mayo was too heavy for me. It tasted nice and light. And I had a couple bites of the Chicken BBQ, it was just as delicious as the beef ribs. Also the portion size was amazing. I think I'm a little partial, but the Beef BBQ Ribs definitely altered my brain chemistry. They were that delicious and I'll be thinking about these ribs for a long time. It felt like I was back home at a Filipino barbecue or I was in Hawaii eating at an uncle's backyard. It truly felt like the meat was grilling out in the back and we ate it fresh out the grill.
