Mediocre chocolate. Slowest service I've ever seen. Hot and claustrophobic. I went there hoping to get chocolate as a host gift for my family. It took 30 minutes to check out two people, even when we were the only two there and I'd politely mentioned, several times, that I had a time crunch. The check out person took each truffle, examined it, put it on a tray, didn't weigh the tray or anything, examined it again, then put it in a box. She stopped while ringing me up, adding whole sentences unrelated to the chocolate or store. I don't even know what she was talking about. I'm really sad to say, I found a chocolate store that I dislike. read more

Had a mommy & daughter outing today and decided to try out this adorable chocolate shop! Our local news station did a story highlighting local businesses and this was one of the businesses they chose. I have always wanted to pop in, and was happy to finally have a chance to stop by. Parking can be a little difficult depending on the time of day. It is located near the Mukilteo ferry and although this place doesn't have it's own parking lot there is street parking. Depending on the time of day it can be easy or difficult to find a spot. The shop is small, but does have two small tables for customers to enjoy their treats. We saw a lot of chocolates, ice cream and all kinds of other non-chocolate candy! We ended up getting birthday cake ice cream cone for my little one and a box of 9 chocolates. This was our first time in a chocolate shop so I was happy to see that you can customize your own boxes of chocolates. We tried nine different flavors and all were delicious, but my personal favorites were the almond clusters (both milk chocolate and white chocolate) and orange! As far as the ice cream goes, well she gobbled it all up and has no complaints! The lady who helped us was very friendly, patient and was able to answer all my questions about the different flavors. We spent about $27 on the ice cream cone and box of nine chocolates. The prices were a little up there, but it is worth it when you want a nice treat! read more

Those triple-dipped malt balls!! I thought I didn't like malt balls until I visited the Mukilteo Chocolate Company. We chose dark chocolate, and it was mostly chocolate with a small crunchy center... deliciously amazing! Dark chocolate dipped Oreos are a small sinful delight, too, colorfully wrapped in foil... perfect as a tiny gift. My wife really loves the chocolate from here so that's a big plus. It's more expensive than I expected, but it's premium and hand crafted. My rating is low because I have visited three times during normal business hours and they've only been open once. I am really busy with work and family. Oh my heavens this place is a hidden gem... literally It took me a minute to find it very surprisingly it's in this little group of businesses converted from old houses! I walked in and was treated by the owner as she helped another group! I was drawn quickly to the back room where the candy was! Quite the selection for a small chocolate company! My boys aren't huge chocolate eaters so I grabbed the gummy snakes! They are huge and they loved them. I chose chocolate covered Oreos for the girls however at one point I had the chocolate covered marshmallows in my hand! I went to the front because I was craving ice cream. I went with Mukilteo mud which was delicious. It was a smooth rich chocolate! I also got a hazelnut truffle which is made by the owner! She has all kinds of chocolate treats available! I could buy them all. We will be trying the espresso beans since my husband loves them! Great chat with the owner and I was on my way! Definitely a small business to support! Didn't swing in here for chocolate, however did have a craving for ice cream and boy did they fulfill that craving! The ice cream is local to the area. I had two small scoops of the Coconut Almond Fudge and White Chocolate Caramel. Very good, especially the Coconut one! The owner was very kind to sample almost all the flavors. This spot is located in a cute, tiny plaza with I believe two or three other businesses. It has a beautiful view overlooking Elliot Point. Just take your ice cream or chocolates outside and walk towards the cafe and BAM, you got yourself a romantical date with some delicious dessert to end the night. read more

I first visited this place about 17 years ago by happenstance when I was exploring my hometown of Mukilteo. After that, I would stop by with my allowance and buy their fudge all the time. I brought my family from Texas here, my parents, and over the years, my friends from over the world. I was thinking of them today while eating some subpar fudge and wishing I was enjoying their delicious mint chocolate fudge. This quaint little chocolatier is located in the cool business area just above the Mukilteo Ferry. I believe this shop used to be located somewhere previously, but they moved into their new space over the summer (they are adjacent to the Diamond Knot restaurant (not brewery) up on Lincoln Ave). The store is small, but it is filled with huge choices. Choices of the sweet, dark, and chocolaty variety. The woman behind the counter was super nice and didn't make a big scene about my slobbering. They have something for everyone, including dark and milk chocolates, non-chocolate candies, and various foods dipped in chocolate (my daughter loves their chocolate dipped nutter butters). The best place in town to tease your tongue in public without fear of arrest. Yes, good things do come in small packages and with gourmet chocolate, and this is, a little lick and a naughty nibble goes goes a long way toward total satisfaction. With a penchant for dark, exotic chocolate combinations, I tried Mukilteo Chocolate Company's Palenque with chile pepper and cinnamon, and as a sucker for citrus, their orange truffle, and well, embarrassingly, can't recall what rounded out the trio. I am itching for Jan's promise to blend me up a custom batch of dark chocolate coating one of these days when she whips up a key lime batch. This is the best chocolate I've had outside my all-time Portland favorites, Alma Chocolates' bizarre-sounding but amazing Thai Peanutbutter cup with coconut milk, ginger, lime and chile, and Sahagun's seasonal summer rosemary-infused truffles. Finding it: a few block up from the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal, off the Mukilteo Speedway right behind Red Cup Cafe, and across from the Rosehill Community Center, Mukilteo chocolates re-opened just in time for the 2011 Lighthouse Festival. I bought fudge for me and the expensive truffels for my wife and she loves them so much she only eats 1 a day to make them last. This was a hard place to review. Let me start by saying the chocolate products are very tasty, delish and high end. Five stars for the product and service. However, to me, product and pricing go hand in hand. That is where I fell out of love with this place. I choose 5 small chocolate pieces and was told it would be $15. Seriously??? For what???? Here's the thing, each chocolate was no bigger than a gumdrop!! I kid you not. About the size of a quarter. $15 for five quarter size pieces of chocolate??? It didn't even have liquor in it!! I've had top artisan chocolate in Seattle and had high end truffles the size of a small shampoo bottle for $2.50 a piece or less. This shop pissed me off because I don't think I got value for my dollar. Maybe charge a $1.50 or less but $3 for one gumball size chocolate, bite me! I won't be back. This is a cute little shop located close to the Mukilteo waterfront. There was a great variety of chocolates, fudge and ice cream to choose from. I had some of the peanut butter fudge and a salted caramel. My mom had the licorice ice cream, which was a real treat for her since it is so hard to find places that have that flavor. I took one star off my review due to the astronomical prices. I have had specialty chocolates from other shops that were bigger AND less expensive. What a great find this little chocolate shop is! It's in a beautiful location and it has so many unique candies. Most are made on the premises and they're such high quality chocolate. I got the Ghost Pepper Milk Chocolate Caramel (which was too spicy for me) but loved the milk chocolate bars and peanut butter crisps. The prices were so affordable that I plan on driving up here to get gifts for business clients whenever I get the chance. The staff were very nice, too. read more

They had great products, excellent quality and good selection, but their customer service was very poor. The woman staffing the shop was chatting with a friend when I arrived and while I was there she ignored serving two other people at the counter, one for ice cream and one for truffles. I was interested in buying truffles from the display case but after seeing her ignore customers to chat with a pal I selected a few pre-packaged items instead. If it wasn't for their great products I'd probably never go back, but the chocolate is just too good not to. read more
