Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably already know that Yale Repertory is a world-class theater in downtown New Haven. They have multiple productions each year and bring in world-class acts. I've found my brief interactions with people who work here very straightforward but also warm. They really make you feel welcomed here! The two shows I've seen were very thought provoking. Father Comes Home in March 2018 was truly epic and moving. The Prisoner in November 2018 was not as enthralling to me, but it was unique. On our most recent visit, we learned we could not bring in bottles into the theater after it had already been opened. No big deal because we had time to drink it quickly, but keep that in mind.

The tickets really are a steal, and I've enjoyed every show (I think that's Tartuffe, A Woman of No Importance, and Happy Now?). Just a note, though - if you want coffee at intermission, run. You can pee later while everyone else in the building is waiting in line for coffee.

I requested a refund and was told they would refund it back to the card. Never received it, reach out again via a-mail. Ronald then told me I had to check with my bank. Never got my money. Awful! Be careful when purchasing tickets they are not accommodating or like to refund your money even when they cancel their shows.

We had the pleasure of going to our first show this past weekend, which was the closing weekend for Small Mouth Sounds. I really liked how unpretentious this theater is, with the super high-quality acting and minimal fanfare. The show we saw was in stage two, which made the experience even more intimate. I appreciated the concession stand at the entrance. Drinks are allowed inside. On this night, the crowd tended to be on the older side. No problem with that, but it was noticeable. If you're being somewhat spontaneous, definitely go for the standby tickets. Even on this closing weekend, we found out about an hour after getting on the standby list that we had scored two tickets for the same evening. And the tickets that were given up happened to be second row, which was lucky and awesome. I am definitely excited to come back for more shows.

Because it is a small, intimate theater, you can really appreciate facial expressions and hear vocals and dialogue. With the orchestra tucked up above the stage, you're wicked close to the action. I laughed, roared, snickered, choked back tears of sadness. As this was my first visit, you can be assured I'll be back. Get there early. You are in a residential area and must find on street parking. Bring cash for snacks. Also, there was a spontaneous auction of a handcrafted Repertory Theater mascot to raise funds. You might want to carry a credit card! FUN.

The calendar is packed full with events. Show on 2nd floor, restrooms and concessions on first floor. There is a small balcony area. We came for a meet and greet with Stewart Copeland along with his show. The meet and greet began at 5:30pm and the we had to leave the theater until it opened at 6:30pm which was quite incoveneint and wish we had known ahead of time. The Kate staff was very friendly. There is free parkiing but can be tough to find a spot.

The parking lot next to the theater is very small and a little walk to the entrance. Other parking is quite away from the theater, therefore get there early if you want a good parking spot. The seating is set up so there is no bad seat in the house. I thought there was enough legroom, considering what you get on a Broadway theater. The building is new and modern and I would not hesitate to see other shows there.

Tickets are reasonably priced and the show was good for a small production house. I went to a 2 PM show , so I had no parking issues. I parked in front, but there are two free parking lots within walking distance to the theater The theater is in the heart of Stoney Creek. Walking distance to the beach and a few small local restaurants. They had a children's show this morning that was $25. This is a good way to get interested in going to the theater. I hope it's successful because it's an asset to our town and the shorelines community.

I was fortunate enough to have one of my plays included in the 2008 Playwrights' Conference, and…read moresince the playwrights are asked to stay for an entire month (even though our own workshops are only 1 week), I got to have the full-on O'Neil experience. While in Waterford I saw an extremely diverse batch of plays (in terms of style, content, and execution), a handful of so-new-they-wrote-the-music-yesterday musicals, and all kinds of special panels and events -- all worth the price of admission. The staff at the O'Neill were beyond friendly, and the creative team we worked out for my play were top-notch. My room in the cottage did what it needed, and a bit more by being a mere 50 feet from Blue Gene's Pub. The productions at the O'Neill are workshops, meant to help their creators refine and develop the work. Consequently, the actors have scripts in hand and the design is only sketched out. I thought this meant things would be pretty rudimentary, but I was surprised time and again at how there were just enough elements present to allow me to imagine a full production. The work they do is truly remarkable. I haven't a negative thing to say. If you can make it up, catch a show. You won't be disappointed.

Saw a terrific reading there today. They've got all kinds of programs running through the summer. There's a cute little cabin on the property where you can get a drink and a snack, and you can walk beautiful grounds right down to the water. They have indoor and outdoor theater settings and there's more than one thing going on at the same time. Very cool.
