I went to see a movie with a some friends, We are all under 18 however, we were charged extra money for an adult ticket even though we were supposed to be getting the younger aged ticket that is cheaper as well. We are watching the movie and some of my friends are talking but it's quiet, someone complains even though there was 2 other groups of kids talking that we weren't with, they only told on us. We were given a warning by a worker and then he walked by the exit and stood there. Then he realized we didn't have an adult with us. We did have an adult though who actually bought her own ticket but left part way through because she had to do something, we had a parent. We told the man we had the parent that bought a ticket and watched with us, he didn't believe it and made us leave in front of everybody. He said we couldn't be in there without an adult, he made us leave the whole area and didn't give us a refund at all even though the movie was 5 minutes in. Also, you can't charge kids with an adult ticket, but since this place thought we were adults, we shouldn't have been kicked out and we should've been able to stay without this random worker thinking he's all that. In conclusion, this place tries to take every dime out of your pocket in any way possible. The chairs are ripped and not comfortable compared to other movie theaters, the prices are horrible, the quality of the movies are bad too. Don't come here, they are wrongfully strict and are not kind. By the way, there was probably 15 other kids in that theater without a parent, I know that because those kids were all sophmores, that's not 18, they talked too, they didn't have to leave. I like this location we have been going here ever since it opened the customer service is always good and everyone is very respectful but the only problem is that it's an desperate need of an upgrade as far as the chairs go this is the condition of most of them and some of them don't even work. Went to see a movie this week and had an awful experience with the manager. My husband and I were looking forward to a date night after a very difficult day. A family member had passed away and we just wanted some escapism, Got a babysitter and everything. We got into the theater to see the movie Together and the AC wasn't working in our theater. We were the only ones there, it was probably 90+ degrees in the theater just a total sauna. My husband left to let the staff know and they said you can either see the movie another time (not an option again we got a babysitter) or we can comp the tickets. Staff was also complaining about that specific theater (#11). We decided to get a refund and just suffer through the heat. We thought cool at least it's free why not? About 20 minutes into the movie a young girl (apparently the manager) comes storming in demanding to see our tickets and telling us we cannot see the movie unless we paid for it. We calmly explained the situation, that her staff offered to comp the tickets, and she continues escalating and aggressively yelling she wouldn't leave the theater until we paid for the tickets (again). Mind you there is literally a loud horror movie playing while this is happening and I'm trying to look at my husband and chat with to decide what to do in this strange situation. It was just so rude and aggressive for something that was clearly a misunderstanding on her staffs part. So in the end our tickets weren't refunded and we paid for this movie experience TWICE. Missed half the movie dealing with this. Infuriating and just bad bad customer service. Sadly won't be back even though it's the closest theater to us. read more

One of my favorite theaters. Comfortable seating, good prices at the concession stand & 5.00 Tuesday tickets all day ! This theater is very clean and so is the restrooms. They have reclining seats and big auditoriums. On Tuesdays they also have a $5 deal at the concessions you get a small popcorn, drink and a choice of candy from the selection available. 4 months ago they added Boost Bowls to the lobby area. For 8.99 you get a fabulous fruit smoothie bowl to watch the movie instead of the regular sweet & salty snacks . You pick a base and then three toppings. Great value! This theater is in a plaza with Big lots ,.Moes, pizza place , a nail salon ,hair salon and Family Dollar to name a few . So after the movie take a nice walk around the plaza have a bite to eat and shop til you drop . read more

If you've been to the theater in North Haven, you know that it's really one of the creams-of-the-crop in New Haven county, so everything (fairly or not) is likely to get compared to it. This theater is definitely not as fancy and you can't order a Starbucks latte or get a glass of wine, but the tickets are $10! I was pleasantly surprised by the cost. I also liked the fact you DON'T have to pick seats. I'm still not a fan of the seat picking thing. The lobby area isn't huge - just room to get some popcorn or candy and to buy or pick up your tickets. Staff have generally been friendly each time I've come here. The theater itself (at least the one we were in on Thursday) is comfortable and not huge. Each seat is an individual recliner that can lie back pretty far and the arm rests can be pushed up if you'd like to hold hands or attempt to snuggle with the person next to you (ideally someone you know..strangers don't always enjoy that). The screen isn't massive, but you kind of lose track of the size of the screen anyway. Audio was great - not blaringly loud, but no difficulty hearing anything. I go to movies VERY infrequently but I'd definitely choose this one as a strong contender, especially due to the inexpensive prices (and others have said their weekday tickets can be even cheaper). read more

I don't know how I feel about this theater. It's closer to my house and cheaper. But as a movie theater, it doesn't look as polished like Cinemark North Haven. I know people don't like Cinemark because it's self serve for most things, seats you pick ahead, and the layout is a bit confusing- but the one thing that stands out is that it looks and feels fancier, cleaner, staff seems to be nicer, etc. You're paying more for the ticket there though... So better quality? Over at Holiday Cinemas 14, you're paying less but you're not GETTING anything less than the quality that you've paid for. The food is cheaper but still expensive. There's nothing that really stands out about this theater to me. If you're low maintenance and just want to see a movie for the heck of it, this is the place for you! The theaters are occasionally dirty with popcorn between the seats and sticky residue in the cup holder. There's always a huge trashcan in the hallway so the stink really eminates. The bathrooms are mostly clean though. I know it's hard for workers to clean each and every seat in the theater before previews start but they can at least try to get the blatant popcorn spills between their seats? The one thing that I'm sure everyone appreciates is the low prices at this theater. Especially on bargain Tuesdays AND Wednesdays now. read more

Very disappointed on how this movie theater went down hill. It's to be are favorite theater to go to. The last few times we have been here the concession stand has very limited choices. But still has the best popcorn. And the theater is extremely dirty. Half the seats don't work. And could not hear the movie with all the kids running thru the theater and flash lights during the movie. Bathroom could use some repairs to. No sinks where working. My local theater has always been a favorite of mine -- it's a good location with plenty of parking, good food choices within walking distance or easy driving distance, they have $5 Tuesdays... really, nothing to complain about. The new renovations are amazing. Walking into the theater last night to see the new Star Wars, I was surprised to see the capacity of each theater is a fraction of what it used to be - 90 seats now as opposed to the hundreds of old seats. Now they have recliners that move with the push of a button, armrests spacious enough to share and, my favorite, aisles wide enough that you can still easily get by your neighbors even when their chairs are fully reclined. They need to update their website, but otherwise I am very happy with the new changes here! read more

First time here. Tickets are cheaper here than most theaters with recliners. I came here to see a movie and the theater room wasn't working so I ended up buying a ticket for my 3rd choice movie. Went to theater room and the projector wasn't working either but the movie started after 15 minutes of waiting. I was about to get up and ask for a refund since 2 others already complained. Cashier came in to let us know that the movie was about to start and then asked if someone was sitting in the row before me. I can't decide if this place has gone down hill or uphill. I find the theater to be dirtier since they added the reclining chairs (I always find popcorn in between the seats and sticky stuff in the cup holders between the seats). I also find that the theater has had a sign to excuse the mess while they are renovating for almost a year now. It's almost like the project is half finished or they aren't sure what they want to do with the entrance area and are just leaving it in the state it is in. Honestly the theater looked better before. I'm also disappointed with the amount of people I see on cellphones in theaters and the amount of nothing that's being done about this. This is a great movie theater! I usually always go to another theater with assigned seats but when a movie is out for some time already and you know there won't be a mad rush, this is the theater to go to!! I loved they had local ads before the movie opposed to big name commercials. Staff are friendly, seating was comfy and sound was great. The popcorn was delicious and I love their soda machines where you can add vanilla and cherry flavors. This place knows it's not a big name theater and keeps it local. Any movie, no matter how new, only five bucks on a Tuesday. It's the sweetest deal ever! The theaters are nice and clean and never get too packed, in exception to the Harry Potter movie coming out and then it was jammed packed. I usually only come here on Tuesdays, which are actually quite popular, so get here early cause the lines can get a bit long. And if you have outside food or drinks be sure you have a good hiding spot cause if the dude who takes your tickets sees it he will make you throw it out. But this is definitely my choice for movie theaters in the area. It is the cleanest and most affordable and the people that go here aren't as ghetto. I walked in with a very small bag kinda like a backpack and I walked up to the counter and asked for 2 tickets. I got the tickets and then the woman at the counter working at 11: 50 on a saturday morning. She said I needed to put my bag down near the counter and it had my personal stuff in it. So I listened and did. Then later I saw 2 women and some children have bags and they were able to bring their bags inside of the theater without being asked not to. So I went up there and she said "it's a new policy about backpacks, and my boss told me not to let them keep their backpacks" so I said well I have literally nothing in it and it's a very small bag too. She said "it is for safety precautions." So My small backpack can carry more weapons and harmful items than regular purse, I think not. I am extremely frustrated with my experience and this has never happened to me before. I hope next time it will be better. read more

I have been here a few times, when I was living in CT as well as when visiting friends or my boyfriends family. This theater is nice! Some of the theaters now have the reclining seats which is great. I like the new renovations and I can tell they are doing more and more each time I come here. It can get crazy crowded on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as it is $5 movies on those nights. The theater is also clean and the staff is friendly. Things are kept up nicely here. Definitely a great theater to visit if you want to see a movie and are in the area! read more

Decent theater. As all theaters there concessions are way over priced. There is a Big Lots next door that sells all the same candy for 1/3 of the price. Tuesday nights are deal nights, currently $5 a movie. If you stay too late the crowd can get a bit shady. read more

Sad to say but Holiday Stadium is slipping a bit as of late. I love that they have upgraded most of the theaters to the luxurious recliner seats but recently on my last few visits the seats and isles have been incredibly dirty as if they have not even been cleaned between showings. I thought it was just a fluke the first time it happened but it seems to be commonplace now as my last few visits its been messy. On my most recent visit it was the worst I have seen it as there were literally half eaten popcorns, soda cups, candy wrappers, food crumbs all over the floor and on the seats/in the cupholders. It was an early showing and it wasn't crazy busy so it's not like they wouldn't have enough time to get someone in there to tidy up. People in the theater were actually complaining about it to each other and were pretty shocked it was that bad. The woman next to me had to move an entire half eaten meal to the floor near the railing so she could use her nearby cupholders and she wasn't too happy about it. No one wants to touch someones gross food remnants just so they can get into their seat. I really love Holiday Stadium and consider it my favorite theater so I hope they get their act together and start getting the theaters into good condition for each showing. Not much of a point in having nice seats if the rest of the space is a mess. read more

The seats smell like ashtrays and after the movie so did I and I don't smoke. My car seats now also smell and now must get detailed. My clothes smelled so bad after. The customer service was great and the employees are friendly. The place is dirty though. Very dirty. I will not be going back. I would rather drive 20 minutes to find a clean place which won't leave me smelling like a smoker. And I don't like that now I have to waste time getting the smell out of my car too. read more

I appreciate their effort in upgrading all the main theaters to the comfortable adjustable seats after he competition came to North Haven. It makes the movie going experience even better! Best Cinema around. Living in Waterbury, I am tired of old rundown cinemas or refurbished ones with high prices. Wallingford cinemas is my theater of choice. The food was once very cheap, but has been brought to modern day theater prices. Theater rooms are clean and have recently been built/rebuilt. There is a nice arcade in the front and the staff is friendly and does their best to keep the lines moving and everything in motion. Parking is not a problem, but expect to walk on opening night. Isles and front end are very clean. No sticky floors, no popcorn in the isle, and no week old popcorn in the machine. This place is extremely sanitary. Never had a problem with a film cutting out in the middle, the climate of the theater rooms, or the fire alarm going off in the middle of the movie like I had with other cinemas I have visited. If you are going to take your family to the movies and live 10-20 miles from Holiday Stadium 10 Cinemas, make it your theater of choice. You will not be disappointed. read more

Yes, Five Dollar Tuesdays. Great idea, but hardly original. Rave in North Haven also has Five Dollar Tusedays. The theater is clean, the seats are comfortable, especially if you're on a date and want to snuggle. The arms between the seats actually raise, and this is something I've never seen in North Haven. Popcorn is decent, the artificial butter flavoring is nasty. Couple things to take in consideration, here. Yes, concessions are expensive, just like any other movie theater. What most people don't realize is that theaters pay a bundle to the studios for the right to show these pictures. In fact, on average, the ticket revenue from the first two weeks of a picture just about covers the cost to the theater to show it. So, the theater makes it's money at the concession stand. Don't like it? Fine. But don't cry when Five Dollar Tuesdays disappear, or perhaps the theater closes its doors altogether. People just don't seem to grasp the concept that companies are in business to make money, not because they feel like throwing a party to celebrate the jerks who spit on the floors and leave their trash behind. Still don't want to pay the concession prices? Fine, but operators read these reviews, too, and when they see someone has stupidly posted techniques for sneaking in candy, they're going to be on alert for it. So, if you must sneak candy in, have the good sense to keep it to yourself before it becomes ruined for everyone. My big gripe. I took my tribe to see a family movie. We could barely hear the movie for the first half-hour. This was not because of the volume in our theater, rather because someone had the poor judgement to place a very loud, very action-packed, very explosive movie right next door. We heard mostly low bangs and bumps which really ruined our movie. Considering the movie we paid for was being shown in 3D and the other movie was not, we also paid more for our tickets. Been to this movie theater multiple times...Do not go on $5 Tuesdays unless you want kids talking during the movie and the annoying security guard coming in and shining a light on everyone that checks their phone....which makes for a bigger distraction. Its worth the 10 minute drive to go to the movie theater in Southington..nice and quiet and if you show a student ID the movie is only $5 everyday. read more
