I came in an hour before closing, thinking I needed my front wheel trued. The bike mechanic looked at the wheel, examined the brake, adjusted the brake and badabing badaboom! Fixed in 10 seconds for $10. Needless to say I felt pretty dumb for not looking at the wheel a little more closely to find that it was just my brake caliper that got knocked out of alignment. Whatever the case, the guys were cool about me being there right before closing and got me in and out in no time. read more

I took my Canyon Endurace to NP Bike Shop for a tune up, and to get some ghostshifting (that was only happening when it was on the small chainring and one of the middle cogs) taken care of. This kid from my local bike shop in SD took half a glance and attributed the issue to a stretched chain, even though it was new-ish and even though it wasn't even at 0.50 according to my chain checker. Marty from service did a little poking around and found that the rear derailleur cable was run in a way that spun around the front derailleur cable, so every time that cable pulled tension it affected the rear shifting which would make it difficult to adjust. He reran a new cable and now the shifting works perfectly. Thanks Marty, and NP Bike Shop! I will definitely be back next time I'm in TO if I need any work done. read more

This is a solid bike shop. My brother got me into mountain biking two weeks ago and I've been in love with it. NP is right down the street from me so it's incredibly convenient. On top of that, the staff are super friendly and don't mind going out of their way to support their customers. The guys at both stores are great and knowledgeable about the bikes they carry. You'll see a pretty good amount of variety on display from LIV (Giant's female oriented bike brand), Giant, Cannondale, and more! The plus side of the store is that you can test Ride the bike in the parking lot to see if it's really what you're looking for. The bike mechanics are all pretty laid back and they don't seem to mind when you watch them repair bikes or put one together. I had my bike sent to this location to be built and they were fast and prompt, and not only that, they helped fit my bike to my height. I'm very happy with their service rates for bike tune ups and repairs. This is a very quiet but excellent store to stop by for road cyclist and regular bikers who just want to check out the cool bikes hanging out in the store. read more

I truly wish I could leave a negative star review. My son picked out a new BMX bike for his 10th birthday that I saved for months for. The sales man was rude at the time we bought it, and against my better judgement, because my son liked the bike, I went ahead and gave them my business. My son test-rode the bike and everything appeared to be fine. The mechanic took it in the back to "tune it up" before we left with it. We took it home and that evening he went to ride it and the brakes wouldn't work and he almost ran into a vehicle because he couldn't stop. I brought the bike back to the bike shop where the rude sales man proceeded to not accept any responsibility, had the nerve to tell me that the bike problems were "on me" which he repeated half a dozen times, and then told me that I needed to parent differently and give my kid some "tough love" and "force" him to get back on a bike he was now scared to death to ride. I've literally never been treated so poorly, talked to so condescendingly, or told it was my fault for something that they clearly did to the brake system during the tune up. Because it had a TINY scratch on it, which probably was there when we bought it since my kid rightfully so wouldn't touch the bike that wouldn't brake, they told me they'd only take it back after charging me a 20% restocking fee. Such bullshit. Again, even after taking the bike to the back for the mechanic, and telling me ALL the things they found wrong with it, he would still accept NO responsibility that they damaged the brake system. I will never give this bike shop another dollar of my hard-earned money, and I wonder how any shop can stay in business with such awful customer service. Do yourself a favor and find a different shop who deserves your business and definitely don't take your kids here or go as a woman unless you like being treated like a piece of shit. Hopefully my bad experience will save someone else from the same. I seriously never write reviews for anything so it shows how horrific my experience was to even feel the need to write a review. Again, wish I could give negative stars. Update: Since I can't seem to respond to what the owner said in response I guess I'll edit my original post. How nice that all sounds and so wonderful that you "upgraded" and "fixed" it for free. Unfortunately, any repairs made I had to fight tooth and nail for and were done far from willingly, not to mention I had to endure constant disrespect and condescending statements from the sales guy. The damage that was listed was absolutely ridiculous. The bike had a scratch, and as stated before was most likely sold that way to me as it was sitting in a corner of my garage completely untouched for three weeks because my kid wanted nothing to do with it after being scared to death during his first ride on it where the brakes failed. Also, as stated earlier, the sales guy had a laundry list to tell me of things that the mechanic had to repair or "fixed"...but would not take an ounce of responsibility that they sold me a bike with a faulty brake system (or ruined during the "tune up"). All he could say was that every other bike in the shop would brake but that particular one had a different brake system and it was "at least better than it was," which was stated after I rode it and it still wouldn't stop. I told him I'd never be willing to drive a car that would only coast to a stop when I pushed the brakes. Why would I put my ten year old on a bike that wouldn't brake when he needed it to? And I was left with the reoccurring statement "well that's on you." Worst customer service. So glad that they care an ounce about a kids safety on a bike they sold with a ruined brake system. I appreciate the response from the owner, however it is typical to try and make it seem like they did everything possible to help me when really every "repair" or "upgrade" had to be fought for and was only necessary due to being sold a faulty bike. After all of the "free" repairs and upgrades I'm left now with a bike that is barely acceptable brake-wise and that screeches ridiculously loud the second you touch the brakes. It is a bike I will never trust to stop my kid. If that is an acceptable "fix" to the owner then my warning again to customers would be to take your business elsewhere. read more

What a great shop! We bought a couple of ebikes for Christmas and while we assembled them, there were just some things that were 'off' and we lacked the confidence to try to address them ourselves. Brought them in and the guys were quick to ensure I was served right away. Even got both bikes back later that same day and they are perfect!
