Therapist is professional, considerate and top-notch. Front desk is flippant and incompetent.

I sprained my ankle for the first time in my life last October and my orthopedist recommended physical therapy. After doing research, I found Elite Physical Therapy. There are two locations in Providence. My experience was with the 285 Governor St location. There is a huge parking lot and is easy to navigate to when there is no construction. A few times, there was construction and Governor street was blocked so I had to go around it. It was easy to make an appointment. I first came for a consult and then made a plan with Shemaiah on how I can improve. The appointments were scheduled for a few months at a time. After the sessions, I definitely felt my progress improving. Shemaiah is personable and really friendly. She wants to see you improve and will work with you to obtain your goals. Their billing is done by a third party and after calling Elite Physical Therapy and their billing office multiple times, I finally got my patient refund after 4 months of waiting. I am not sure why it took them so long to process the refund and when I asked, they had no answer. Other than the patient refund issue, the space is clean and spacious. After a few months of therapy, my ankle was a lot better and I was able to walk normally. read more

Came here for knee PT before I found out I was going to need surgery. We got lots of strengthening in though, the staff team members are amazing! And also came again when I developed a dizzy problem. JP diagnosed it as "vestibular ocular dysfunction" after about 2 month of PT twice a week I was completely better. Haven't been dizzy since! They treat each patient with respect and even have small chat to make the patient feel more welcome. Everytime I got discouraged they were always there with kind world and motivation. The receptionist is also super nice! Facility is clean and sterile. I loved how it was convenient. I wanted to come back after my knee surgeries but my Orthopedic (university ortho kettle point) wanted me to be in house PT because of the type of surgery I was having MACI and it's a daily new surgery and not all PT know about it yet. But if I ever need PT for something else in the further I would def go back to Elite! read more

I went to Elite for a variety of issues (concussion, ankle sprain, meniscus tears, etc.) on and off for about five years. The physical therapists were generally quite helpful, and it was an overall positive experience. That said, they over billed me, and I overpaid after hitting my out of pocket. This would be an easy problem to solve with a refund. However, I have now been calling for a full year attempting to get my money back. It has been a wildly frustrating and baffling experience essentially doing the same thing over and over again. I would encourage anyone going to Elite be very wary and diligent with their health insurance company and payments. Despite the decent level of care here, I will probably never go back because of this. read more

Elite Physical Therapy provided excellent Physical therapy over the last two months for me. However as far as their billing department I am quite disappointed as it took them two months of providing me appointments and then stated that my Health Insurance does not cover any of the PT visit cost. Elite Physical Therapy should of told me two months ago on day 1 that my insurance will not cover any of my visits and never scheduled any appointments. I am not paying any of these bills as this was fault of Elite Physical Therapy in Johnston Rhode Island. Now I have to find a new Physical Therapy place for the remaining of my therapy. read more

Absolutely the best physical therapy I have ever experienced! Not one of those "here's some heat, do some exercises and buh-bye!" type of places. They ask about your daily movements, how your injury has affected those, your pain level and don't just give you exercises to do but perform actual physical manipulation to assist you heal. Staff is kind, caring and down to earth. read more

The team at Elite Physical Therapy is wonderful. This East Side office is conveniently located (walkable for me from work), and the approach to PT at Elite is the right mix of tough love and massage/heat/ice. Jackie was great to work with -- she gave me exercises I could realistically keep up with and performed helpful manipulations. I could see and feel a lot of progress through my eight weeks of working with her. Scheduling appointment times that were convenient for me was not difficult, which I greatly appreciated. And the times I needed to work with other therapists also went well -- everyone communicated with each other before and after, making my progress forward smooth. read more

I've been to Elite twice - once for a sprain and the other for a back and hip injury. Both times I had great treatment with great physical therapists. They also have great admin staff at the front who schedule appointments very efficiently. I highly recommend this place. read more

Really talented Therapists. They get a 10 out of 5. The billing department gets a -6 out of 10. December of 2018 they told the office how much my deductible would be and what that would make my co-pays. In January I paid the deductible and for all the PT visits that were set up for me. Then, in March, I get a bill for another doctor saying I owe the deductible. After inquiring about it I was told it would be corrected - which it never was. After months of this, in August I again go back and forth between them and my insurance who said they were not supposed to be asking for that deductible so I should never have given it to them. Finally, I get an answer from their billing rep that was - that she knew it did not belong to Elite back in March but it's sitting as a credit on my account. Took the rest of a month to get them to send me money back - which they took $60+ out of without explanation or response. They take a credit card to ensure that you always pay them - I would control how much they can access off your card and DO NOT GIVE THEM THE DEDUCTIBLE,WAIT!!! TO FIND OUT WHICH MEDICAL OFFICE YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY HAS DETERMINED IT IS DUE TO AND PAY ONLY THAT OFFICE. The new year isn't far off and Michelle will be telling the office to ask you for it. read more

I've had back surgery three times in the past 2 1/2 years. And, I've also had physical therapy 3-4 times as well. For the most part, the other therapists were overbooked and I felt I wasn't getting the attention I needed or wanted. Nor did I ever progress as desired. On the other hand, the folks at Elite are exceedingly gracious, show real interest, and demonstrate incomparable skills. I don't know how much better I can get, but I'm gaining strength and a lot of flexibility. I finally feel like there may be some hope for me, after nearly a year mostly confined to my bed, and unable to stand or walk more than a few minutes at a time. These folks are simply great, and I highly recommend them. read more

If you are in pain, go see Travis at elite physical therapy(east side). He is Kind, caring, easy going and extremely knowledgable. Before I started going to elite, I had severe pain in my lower back and right leg. I was unable to work/walk/stand/sit due to the pain I was experiencing. I could not even come close to touching my toes! (I'm a 33 year old athlete). I was afraid I would never get back to a normal way of living. Travis listened carefully and provided me with an easy exercise routine along with some manual manipulation. After just 3 weeks, I started to feel improvement and I returned to work full time!. I continued PT for an additional four weeks and I am beyond happy with the results! (Also, I can touch my toes again!). Huge thank you to Travis and the Providence Elite team! :) read more

Great team here on the East Side, been going for a few weeks due to a back injury after my pregnancy. Brittany has been great- friendly, and knowledgable. (My sister and my brother in law are also PTs, so I'm biased and expect a lot). Been really happy Shelley is also super friendly and helpful with appts. Appreciate the attention and knowledge here. It's usually pretty busy, but I never feel rushed and feel like I get the attention I need. And pretty flexible with appt times too, considering most places close early all the time. Fantastic!!!! Elite Physical Therapy supported a charity bike ride that participated in named Bike to the Beach for autism! Their team set-up at the finish-line for the event to help the cyclists address any issues incurred during the 100-mile bike ride and help alleviate any issues afterwards. After the ride, my shoulders/back was aching pretty badly. My shoulders are tense, tight, and there were knots in my muscles. The therapist did worked the muscles surrounding my should, neck and back, and it felt a million times better after. I don't think that I would have been able to get home comfortably if it were not for the great people at Elite Physical Therapy. 100% recommend them to anyone in need of physical therapy! read more

I have been taking my 6 year-old son to Amy for about 7 months now and she is amazing!! She is passionate about helping people feel better, and it shows every session we have with her. She is always upbeat, patient, and takes the time to listen to our son and find ways to keep him engaged. She makes his sessions fun and he LOVES going. I am so grateful for Elite Physical Therapy. I have been going to PT at the new office in Lincoln. The staff has been excellent! They have been able to put together a schedule of appointments that fits into my work/life schedule. Treatments have been going well and my therapist has been able to provide relief to pain and discomfort in a short amount of time. Extremely unhappy with Elite Physical Therapy. Will never go back nor recommend to anyone. They were on time for the initial visit but none of the subsequent ones and the facility was extremely small given the number of patients in there at "prime" times. I don't feel that they were able to adequately address and amend my injury over the few months that I was a patient there. Finally, they screwed up horribly on the billing for my account and their excuse was "oh well". At that point, I'd had enough. I was done with them. There are so many other places to go and they have so much more to offer. Please save your time and go elsewhere. You'll be glad that you did! read more

Even if they partner with your insurance agency they illegally ask you for your deductible up front, while billing the full amount to the insurance agency at the same time. Hence, they try to get money from both the costumer and the insurance agency at the same time for the same service. Asking them to refund this deductible is a nightmare, and they repeatedly broke their own refund deadlines. Don't fall for this trap! read more
