Fastest dryers I think I've ever used. Light fabrics can dry easily in 20-30min. Heavier fabrics may still only take 40min. Tons of machines, never seems difficult to have a couple available. Coin style is a bit old school, so bring the quarters you keep stashing in that bowl, or some bills for the coin changing machine. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this laundromat. They have been "Under New Management" for over a year now though. Maybe the old place was really bad. Loves: -Clean -Bright, but not too bright. -Close to my Apartment -24 Hour Bodega Across the Street -$1.50 for regular load, $3 for a double load, and they have some Giant Loaders too. Sadly, no freeloaders. -Dryers are $0.25 for 8 min and really work. -Out of order signs let you know which machines will steal your quarters. -Stay in and do your own, or drop it off (if you drop it off, be sure to get a Frequent Washer Card for 20lbs of free drop off laundry after you get 10 punches). -Most of the employees are very nice, but very shy. Hates: - Not enough seating (only 2 small benches) - They often lose one of my socks when I do drop offs. Just one, but never the same one twice. - Video Games and TVs often annoying loud when I am trying to read. But all in all, this is a better laundromat than most. I'm shocked the rating is as high as it is. This is the most disgusting laundromat ever!!! Truly not being over dramatic. There is a thick, (I mean thick!) layer of dust over every single surface, and the same for the floors. In all crevices along the floor there is dust, dirt and debris. I get scared to drop anything. There is a bathroom that has no soap and the man who owns the place has used the restroom (#2) when there was no soap. I know because my partner went to use the restroom and then waited in the sitting area next to the restroom and was hit with a heavy smell after the man used the bathroom. He then handled people's clothes. He also is always loudly hacking up phlegm and coughing without any care or concern to cover his mouth, again over people's laundry he had also been handling. Also be cautious of the washers. Many times I've had things come out sopping wet, or completely dry with only a few small wet spots on all items I put in the wash. I'm curious to know if there are any health standards a laundromat is required to meet. read more

Awful management, little kid is left in charge and doesn't know how to work the machines. The machines are EXTREMELY expensive (8 dollars for a big machine that isn't that big at all) has almost no water and less and less wash time everytime I go so it stained my clothes on my last wash here. DON'T EVER COME HERE. It's a nightmare it's also extremely dirty, and dry cleaning clothes are in the back catching dust. And they lost my suit when I left it for dry cleaning a couple weeks back. 2 Stars BASED OFF OF WASH & FOLD ONLY I've been to this laundry for over 2 years now and only rate this business AFTER it was sold to new Owners! NOOOOOOOO They ruined they're wash and fold services! :( Here is what happened Est. end of November 2011: I actually have a job change that was allowing to actually do my own laundry! And no complaints there. But alas, we all run out of time once and a while. So, my boyfriend dropped off our laundry for the N-th time and when he received it back, the folding lady was overly apologetic about our laundry, which confused him a bit. He then realized there was a man there reassuring him that now that there are new owners, things are going to improve. We received a dozen of white briefs that ARE NOT my boyfriends AND NONE OF OUR SOCKS. I kid you not. I took out my laundry and started putting everything up and at least 12 pairs of socks were missing. Im honestly okay with a blouse or shirt getting a little janky because it's wash and fold, but not ALL OF MY SOCKS! ALL OF THEM! GONE. :( No socks. None. It was a very sad sad sad sad day. It was holiday season so I was out of town a lot and unable to complain. But what could they do? Buy me new socks? Probably not. And now, an Update! Est. January of 2012: My room mate does more wash and fold than I do there. And he just told me he received three boxer briefs that are not his. Ugh. They're still at it! Come on guys, get it together. Thank God I have time to do my own now! So it's official: I WILL NOT wash and fold there again. read more

But I think it warrants an extra star!! This place is clean and very convenient for me - right around the corner, and I'm confident enough to leave my clothes there while they are washing because the rest of the crowd there isn't scummy. Prices are reasonable and FREE DRYERS DURING THE WEEK!! (Note: you can only put in 8 minutes at a time for the free dryer deal, so you have to stay there with your clothes). read more

This is the closest laundromat to my apt, and yet for most of the past two years I have chosen to walk an extra block and a half to avoid going to this place. The reason? My first several visits here all consisted of the machines taking my money and the staff refusing to do anything about it. Well things have changed, new ownership, and so I'm back giving them another chance. Free dryers on weekdays doesn't hurt. So far I'm very happy with level of service and cleanliness. The only negative for me, which Josh R. already mentioned, is the lack of seating. read more

Angrily disappointed! I came here for the good reviews on tailoring. I had a dress that needed the shoulder straps shortened, a pair of pants that needed the hems re-sewn, and a few things for dry cleaning. The dress was done beautifully and now fits perfect (2 stars for that). The pants were just an okay job- it looks like it will soon fall apart again, and she charged me an extra 3 dollars at pick up since both legs needed to be done. Who charges individually for pant legs? I didn't see too many peg leg pirates in there getting things hemmed. Makes even less sense since I explained to her at dropoff that both needed sewing. At the time, I chalked it up to a language/communication error since she was so friendly and pleasant. I wish I checked my items before leaving- just because someone is nice to you doesn't mean they provided a quality service. This morning I went to put on a blazer with leather trim on the collar I had dry cleaned here- the trim is completely warped and ruined on one side and looks terrible. They ruined a brand new blazer that I had only worn a few times and looked perfectly fine before. I am so mad I don't even want to go back to complain. Bring cash if you're stupid or desperate enough to bring your stuff here. read more

I'm sooooooooooooo happy to see Shirley here! When we moved from our old apartment here I truly missed her. She "Always" greets you with a smile and will do everything possible to help you while you're there, which is really helpful for a guy like me. I've been dropping off my laundry for the past 6 months, and i've never really been disappointed. I got my birthday dress altered here too, I needed the zipper moved and since Shirley wasn't impressed with the quality of the zipper, she went ahead and replaced it! Rocket laundry is the best in the area. The owner and his wife are always cheerful and helpful. They've made me feel at ease coming in here. I know when I leave my clothes in the dryer, that the facility is attended, and no one can pick up my things and walk out. They are always courteous and clean! I don't live adjacent to this laundry anymore, yet I still drive my car over that way to do a few loads! I have heard that the alterations come back flawless, so I am soon to inquire about a pair of pants I need tailored. Plenty of machines, even on busy days. The cost for drying is lower than most in the ares. (25 cents = 15 minutes) I will continue to be a patron here for a long time! read more

Okay, now I know some people have lost their socks here. That's terrible, but really, you don't know how great this place is, like I do. I love them! They're my favorites! Shirley is the best! I love to do my laundry here and when I do drop-off laundry it always comes back. I'm never skeezed out. I never feel like somebody will steal my clothes, and they have great prices. This laundromat is so dirty!!! My clothes smelled funny after wash and were still wet after 40 min in the dryer at max temperature. Customer service is non-existent; no one even says hello to you when you walk in. Very disappointed! Will not be going back... read more

Shirly is a fantastic tailor! She mended 3 of my favorite dresses in record time and could not have been sweeter. I felt guilty paying only six dollars for each dress. She wouldn't let me tip her!
