    Mini chimi

First time at this restaurant, it wasn't very busy. We were seated right away, and I was with my boyfriend. The waiter assumed I spoke Spanish and only asked questions in Spanish to us which is fine since I'm fluent and Hispanic but my boyfriend is not and he doesn't know Spanish. So he felt a bit left out of the conversation. We were seated and provided with warm tortilla chips and pick de gallo and refried beans! Yum! We placed our orders and not even 5-10 min later or hot food was in front of us. The food was typical of a chain and we were satisfied for the most part. My boyfriend had a chicken taco and mini chimi, the taco was shopped plain and the chicken unflavorful. I ordered the pollo a la crema, it was tasty. I'd come here again. The staff was nice and the restaurant was very colorful, the booths were also very roomy.

This Ixtapa in Duvall is great! My husband and I ordered a vegetarian tortilla soup and my daughter ordered the chicken burrito. I was so happy to find vegan options on their menu. Last time I visited, there were no good vegetarian or vegan options on the menu. Although, you can always ask for sides and create your own meal. I appreciated that their menu is becoming more inclusive.

Ixtapa you have stepped things up. I've loved this local haunt for years, but after a short hiatus due to vacations I stoped in for late lunch and early margarita. My scratch marg came in an amazing cup, extra delicious and the new menu had so many great options. I went with lunch fajitas and it was delish. Thanks Ixtapa!

Ixtapa Duvall best food anywhere. And the service is 5 star. Carlos is the best waiter in all of Washington State. He remembers you and what you like and the service he gives is so warm and caring you feel you're truly at home.

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Food - delicious! Service - friendly. Atmosphere - relaxing. Favorite part - sitting in the booth by Gideon's pictures in the bar. Muchas gracias to everyone at the Duvall Ixtapa restaurant.

Fabulous find in this small town! Great service, delicious food, clean, decorated restrooms and booth. I had an enchilada picadillo and was stuffed with high quality shredded beef. My hubby had the pork tamal. Not super busy and it's lunch time on Father's Day. We'll be back.

My coworker took me here for lunch. The starter was chips, salsa and bean dips. That was good start. I ordered lunch small combinations with tamale. It was good portion. The Highlight of the dish was the bean. That is why it is just 3 stars. Tamale was on dry side. I have to pile on salsa to be able to finish it. I did not finish the rice. The service was good, the guy came by to check on us often.

15.50 for a tiny bowl of soup....I had more margarita than soup!

Are you kidding me?! 15.50 for a tiny bowl of soup??? I should have taken a picture of the bowl. I literally had more margarita than soup. And the soup was so full of raw onions that I couldn't taste anything else. The Ixtapa in Carnation is right down the road, and WAY WAY better. Not impressed. At ALL.

We have been going to this restaurant since I was a kid, we all leave feeling full and satisfied! They were very prompt at bringing chips/salsa to the table and we added a side of bean dip. Delicious! We ordered the Mexican Pizza, Molcajete and I had the Ixtapa Burrito. They were very Covid friendly. All staff wearing masks, hand sanitizer at the table, and a QR menu for you to scan. I miss the basket of candy at the exit like they used to have before Covid- looking forward to having that back someday!

The margarita was very strong. We had dinner here. The portions are pretty large but I feel likt that's normal for a Mexican restaurant. The food we got were delicious and the customer service was also very attentive.

I went with the machaca (tender shredded beef with eggs), and it was incredible, super tender, rich, and packed with flavor. We also shared the garlic parm wings, which were crispy and addictive, and the chips & guac were fresh and done right. Our kid had a quesadilla and loved it. One of the coolest touches was the kids menu! it's interactive and even teaches them how to count to 10 in Spanish, which is such a fun and thoughtful detail. Great food, welcoming vibe, and an awesome brunch experience all around. We'll definitely be back!

Monroe, Washington, April 2026…read more This colorful building is located on the main street in downtown Monroe. The minute you walk in you are greeted immediately. An older gentleman and a younger guy were quick to tell us we could sit wherever we wanted as it was a Sunday evening. Booths line the wall and there are about four tables in the middle of the restaurant. Very small, but very colorful and extremely friendly staff. We were quickly asked for a drink order and they brought chips and salsa. The chips were a perfect thin yet crunchy texture. The salsa was very flavorful. It had chunks of onions and lots of cilantro. However, I wish the salsa was spicier. We both ordered chicken and beef enchiladas à la crema. The presentation was nice and I'm so glad there was no lettuce decorating my plate. My whole beans came in a little tortilla cup but the rice lacked flavor. It taste more like a puréed risotto. The enchiladas were covered in the cream sauce that also had cheese. There was no flavor to the cream sauce and the chicken was extremely dry. I liked the flavor of the whole beans. They don't give you a full basket of chips when you sit down. So we asked for more as they were delicious. But then we received only a quarter of a basket this second time. They don't post prices of the soda or the drinks. When we inquired to see a bar menu, they said they had none that we could order anything we want. We asked the price of a particular drink and he said don't worry. When I receive my bill, my non alcoholic bottle of Heineken was $7.25. I think that is outrageous for a nonalcoholic beer. I will give this place three stars because the chicken was tough and dry. The cream sauce was boring and the salsa needs spice.

First of all, this used to be an Italian restaurant. When it reopened as a breakfast place I asked…read moreif the reason they kept the same name was so they didn't have to pay for a new lit sign, and I was told that was correct--makes sense as those signs aren't cheap. The problem here is that in keeping the same name the reviews and overall rating reflect both the previous Italian and the current breakfast restaurants, which doesn't provide a realistic overall view of it. It's also why it's still being reported as closed. This might be more of a Yelp problem but it's still nevertheless a problem. Regardless, I gave two stars and that's being generous. The waiter was friendly and the service prompt but that's only a small part of the equation. The main breakfast dishes contain four eggs which sounds generous but really, who eats four eggs in one sitting? The only "light" options are for "seniors and children"; there was no omelet offered there and those options are only for one egg. Weird that the choices are too much or too little. I was able to ask for a two-egg omelet and the waiter was gracious by offering me a $2 discount though the cook still used four eggs. That would have been fine but what I got wasn't a traditional omelete as everyone knows it. I asked for link sausage and swiss cheese and it was really a kind of scramble--it wasn't an omelet at all, it was flat and the combination of eggs and cheese seemed to lead me to believe that the eggs may have been underdone. There was either way too much cheese or it was of inferior quality (maybe both). Either way it was unappetizing and I barely ate any of it. For a breakfast of this size I would expect two pieces of toast and got only one. I asked for the hash browns to be crispy and they weren't. My wife got the senior scramble with cheddar and bacon, and the menu wasn't clear about the meat--she thought the bacon would be on the side but it was actually in the scramble. She said it was just ok. With the tip it came to close to $50 (with two cups of coffee, which was ok), which is still too much for a breakfast that was lacking in quality. The menu is enormous and the other breakfast and lunch items sounded interesting, but this first experience doesn't instill a lot of confidence for anything else they offer, to me at least. Readers may feel differently based on the other, more positive reviews for the breakfasts seen here but based on this visit we probably won't be back, and if nothing else be forewarned that what they call an omelet just isn't.

The deck off the back of the restaurant was fantastic, I just wished anything would have matched that energy. We ordered 2 jalapeno Margaritas, and 2 "fresh natural" margaritas. They brought out chips and salsa and beans to us following our orders. The salsa I am not sure how it qualify as salsa. It was more like a can of stewed tomatoes. No spice, no flavor. The beans were the same. Plain, nothing to them. While fajitas had been walked by many times we opted not to get food. After letting the server know we were not ordering food, I believe the manager came over to ask if everything was ok. We were like yeah, we just came by for drinks. Both the server and the manager seemed annoyed after that. After receiving our drinks they were to be nice, just plain disappointing. Jalapeño margaritas are my drink of choice and this one fell well short of the mark. There were jalapeños in it, but there was zero spice and a very strong flavor of just the margarita mix. My wife enjoyed her fresh margarita, but upon receiving the bill the fresh margarita was a $4 add on for the fresh lime juice? $65 for 4 margaritas in pounder glasses. Maybe it's because they were not good that I find that as steep. Thanks Monroe El Paraiso, we won't be back.
