    The cantina

Agave is deceptively large inside, despite a the small storefront in a strip mall. The trick is that it has not a front and a rear entrance. I went straight to the cantina in back, where I passed through the restaurant portion which was very welcoming. The cantina had roll up windows, a more intimate atmosphere, big screen TV's and some great Mexican music playing. The food came very fast and was very good. Even the chips and salsa was above average. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they never mentioned their specials, nor were they listed anywhere near the bar. I knew they had them since they're on their website and they will tell you then if you ask - so make sure to ask. UPDATE: I'm giving them 5 stars since I did find a table top with their specials!

This was such a wonderful surprise -- tucked away in a strip mall and located between DSW Shoes and Ulta Beauty Store. The ambience, decor, artwork, friendly staff was perfect. Like they say in French, the "piece de resistance" was the food. Likely the best Mexican food we have eaten, including in Mexico. The salsas and chips were spot on. The chopped onion, tomatoes, cilantro, chiles, included cabbage -- a pleasant surprise I had a Tecate beer and the Spicy Fire Grilled Prawns. It was absolutely stunningly tasty. My wife had the Enchiladas Vegetarianas. She also found it to be absolutely delectable. We loved the food. All in all an outstanding meal. And the price was perfect. We're definitely going back. It's worth the drive from anywhere in King County!

My new fav. Only thing missing is the band Art work matched the delicious food Is there a link to buy the art? Servers immediately brought out lots of salsa for the fam. Oh yeah, best horchata I've ever had too!

Agave offers quality Mexican food in a nice setting on the East side. Chips that are fresh and aren't greasy, served with 3 different kinds of salsa. I ordered carnie asada and camarones combo. Carnie Asada was perfectly done, shrimp was clean and large. No wilted or brown lettuce! Refried beans that didn't come out of cans. We love their Diablo Wings. Delicious sauce that is to die for. I grew up in Southern California with abundance of authentic Mexican food. While Agave is not quite that level, it did hit the spot and we really enjoyed the wonderful service from the friendly wait staff.

Consistently good food in a nice space with good service. Can't go wrong with a lunch at Agave.

Stopped in for dinner and had a great meal. Servers were helpful and knowledgeable about the menu offering great suggestions. The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant, a good buzz about it, but not overwhelming. The dishes were delicious as were the cocktail and beer choices. My meal choice was the steak salad, cooked perfectly, quite a large portion too. Paired with a local Hazy IPA, double good!

Came here for a business meeting. This was my first visit. I had carne asada with shrimp added. The steak was cooked well when I asked for medium rare. Besides that, the food tasted all right. Tortillas were store bought though instead of housemade. They weren't busy but took a long time to take drink orders. Then, the shrimp was missing from both of our orders and had to ask for that to come out. This arrived when we were both about halfway finished eating with a lot of talking. Had to ask for the check. Weren't asked if we wanted more tortillas.

I'd say YUM YUM to this hidden Gem that I drive by all the time. I love chips and salsa and they give you 4 salsas!!!! I went back 3 days in a row. Service was stellar as expected. Ambiance is normal with

Seafood Enchiladas with grilled asparagus and corn sides.

Most of the time I'm dining solo, and this place just has a great vibe. The music is always on point, the artwork and decor throughout the restaurant are awesome, and it's one of those places where you can relax, enjoy a good meal, and feel comfortable whether you're by yourself or with a group. Daniel (I believe that was his name) was outstanding. He made sure I was taken care of the entire time, stayed on top of drinks, and checked in just enough without ever being overbearing. Great service like that doesn't go unnoticed. As for the food, I always order the Carne Asada (steak) Burrito and have them add guacamole inside. It's become my go-to and has never disappointed. Great food, great atmosphere, great people. Matador has become a regular stop for me whenever I'm in town, and I look forward to coming back every chance I get.

It was served not hot but cold hard and stale - al pastor taco: the pork was hard and chewy, and extremely dried out What a big miss. Why was everything out of balance/dried out/over cooked (which was even visible)? This restaurant lacks consistency and quality check. I gave it five stars the first time, and now giving it one star for the quality of food served today

The food here is good for what it is, but it's definitely more on the Americanized side of Mexican cuisine. If you are hunting for strictly authentic, traditional Mexican street food or regional dishes, you will probably want to look elsewhere. But if you are craving that classic American-Mexican style, think big portions, melted cheese, and familiar favorites, this is a very solid spot that hits the mark. The service here was really good, attentive, and incredibly welcoming to families. The absolute biggest highlight for us was how family-friendly the environment is. Our kids had a great time, and the staff made dining with children completely stress-free. While the food isn't necessarily my personal style, you can't beat how accommodating they are for a family night out.
