Food was great. I had the mentaiko cream udon and my boyfriend had the chicken yakisoba. For apps we did gyu harami, Berkshire pork sausage on a stick, and pork buns. They were a 9.5/10. Delicious. I'd rate the main food a 8/10, it was great but it could be better. The service was very fast. Yung/Young was very kind, patient, helpful, and efficient. When I requested a server or anything in general, Yung/Young arrived within the minute. Not like other Japanese/korean restaurants. The ambiance is amazing, with Japanese anime and manga displays, themed wallpaper, and décor everywhere that really makes you feel like you're in a Japanese izakaya. The service was outstanding. If you need anything, you simply ring the bell at your table, and someone is there within seconds. The staff was attentive, friendly, and always on point. As for the food, it was good--pretty much what you'd expect from a solid Japanese sushi restaurant. Nothing wildly different, but everything was enjoyable. What really sets this place apart is the unique vibe and dining experience. First time here with a friend for lunch and upon entering I was already unimpressed. We walked in and expected to see a host/hostess to help us sit down but instead we just stood there while 3-4 employees just stood there staring at us.... It was really awkward.... and they weren't even busy..... I was even thinking of leaving if no one came up to help us..... Eventually we kept staring at the employees (almost a minute has gone by) and one girl finally came up to help us and asked if we had reservations. No. Then notifies us that the tables up front are self seating. There were no signs to inform us of that whatsoever..... Anyways food was yummy though. The Mentaiko cream udon was very flavorful as compare to other places I've had it at! The beef, pork jowel and chicken thigh yakitori were also yummy. My friend has a gluten allergy and they were able to accommodate with gluten free soy sauce. Overall I'd love to come back to experience the other rooms and more of the food. This place definitely has Izakaya vibes. It's almost like you're being transported to Japan and you can be split off into little booths for your own parties. Parking isn't too bad, but it is a little tucked away and a little awkward too park. The menu is quite vast. It took me over 10 minutes to look through what was available. I do appreciate that they had photos for each of their dishes and everything was pretty accurate to the picture that I ordered. I was sat down in one of their booze, which was pretty private. I had some of their "best " yakitori items: spicy butabara which was pork belly and the kashira which is their pork jowel. Both were really flavorful and had great sauce, although the butabara wasn't that spicy. I like the pork jowel more out of the two. I was debating getting a Ramen or a donkatsu or a curry dish. They have a lot of different options, but I ended up going with the sashimi sampler and the Hako Sushi. The Hako was very visually, appealing with it squares and middle nest layer of spicy tuna. Thought overall it was pretty good, I just wish the top layers of fish were a little thicker. The sashimi sampler was also pretty good, one of the items was raw marinated shrimp, which was sweet. This sashimi cuts of fish were thicker. I did like most of them, but not all of the pieces. In order to be able to try a lot more things I would definitely suggest coming with a bigger group. It's nice that the menu is quite large so you have plenty of options to choose from. I could see this definitely being an after work or even later into the evening type of place. Came here after doing a google search when leaving king spa. My husband and I were on a staycation to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. My husband is big into anime and he loveddd the ambiance of the restaurant. You could tell this was a nice hang out place especially after 9 pm, but it wasn't rowdy or anything. We ordered drinks I can't remember the names, mine was a seltzer and my husband had one of the beers. We had good service & food came out really quick. I ordered the chili wings for a starter and the spicy island roll, I will say I have had better for both but I could see it just being because I ordered the wrong things. A large group of us had a reservation for one of their bigger rooms on a busy weeknight. I had time concerns, because I needed to be someplace right after dinner, but there were absolutely no problems. The staff here is very efficient and make good use of technology for taking your order and sorting it out at the end when everyone is requesting separate checks for 1 or 2 people each. That server robot was fun too. As someone who has admittedly only been to places not quite so authentic, I was a bit overwhelmed by the menu at first, and I stuck to more familiar items. I've been wanting to go to Izakaya Nana since I saw it on IG like two years ago so, super excited to finally visit. I made a reservation a week before just to be safe. Was fun to see folks waiting to enter when they opened. I was trying to peep the menu online but bless for Yelp and for everyone who shared pics of the menu. I will say everything looks like the picture. I literally got the Ramen Nana for the cup lol. I think the longostino is unnecessary because it's over cooked and hard to take out of the shell with chopsticks, so I had to use my hand but other wise it was a very mild ramen broth. I was still searching for some protein, and decided to order the black miso cod. The ramen nana, black cod and a Diet Coke cost me around $65. Service was quality, appreciated the call button and of course the decor was A1. Food wise, the Black cod was great, would totally get that again. A couple of my friends took me out last night for a belated birthday dinner. I'd never been to Izakaya Nana. The building the restaurant occupies used to be a swimming pool company store. We had a reservation in a small room - they are semi-private since each room is walled off from one another. Calvin, one of the restaurant managers, waited on us. We ordered a Sake tasting flight to share. There were three Sake samples in the flight. In hindsight - I should have ordered a flight just for me. The Sake was good and I could have easily drank that by myself. We ordered a number of dishes to share: Brussel sprouts, spicy Bamboo shoots, Calamari, Sashimi (salmon, tune, scallops, and a couple of other fish options that I could not identify. Izakaya nana is the first restaurant that I visited in 2026. I came for a late lunch around 2 pm and it was pretty full so the only seats available were the high top tables. I really liked the atmosphere and the way they decorated the restaurant. It was like I was in a little Japanese village with popular Japanese music in the background. My wife and I ordered a whole bunch of food to share. We ordered the Mentaiko cream udon, toro ikura don, yakitori platter, a few other yakitori skewers, crispy sweet chili wings. As busy as it was, the food came out relatively quickly. The yakitori and chicken wings came out first. The crispy wings were not crispy at all. Pretty soggy and it was just very sweet. Could not finish that. The yakitori was served on a heated box to keep them warm while eating. The mentaiko cream udon was creamy and tasted like mentaiko. My favorite was the Toro ikura don. The toro was pretty much on the money and it melted in your mouth. The bowl came with avocado at the base, rice on top and some wasabi, yellow radish, and toro. It paired well with a little bit of soy sauce. I don't come to chantilly often, but I would come back with friends. I recommend making a reservation. You may have to wait a little bit even with a reservation. 3.5 or 7/10 for me. read more

Cool Izakaya that transports you to Japan upon walking in. There are several semi private rooms as well so your party can dine and chat amongst yourselves. Nice touch. Third time here and I must say just about everything we've tried has been delicious- sushi and sushi rolls are fresh, the yakitori is flavorful, and the choice of drinks are outstanding. To name a few dishes - wagyu fried rice, mentaiko udon, yellowtail carpaccio, wings...yummy Definitely a great addition to the many asian restaurants in Chantilly. Some of our favorites were the Takoyaki (lightly crisp exterior, soft and delish on the inside, surrounded by savory bonito flakes), the Ika-Sugata (sauteed squid was soft and the teriyaki sauce complimented it so well!), and the Yakitori platter meat skewers were perfectly seasoned. The cold Signature appetizer sampler was interesting but not our favorite. The Mentaikocream udon was good but it did need more udon and roe. Sushi is always good! read more

We tried Izakaya Nana for the first time and we really enjoyed the ambiance, attentive service, and delicious food! We started off with the yakitori spicy pork belly and pork jowl, which were our faves. The beef skirt was ok and the chicken gizzards were very gamey -- definitely more than I anticipated. Takoyaki was one of our highlights with the amount of octopus and it was cooked perfectly. The sashimi deluxe platter was fresh and enough for two people. We finished our meal with an order unadon. He made the reservation through the resy website and we went on a weekday during the day for an early dinner. The food was amazing and he wanted to go back immediately. Service was quick. but don't expect anyone to stop at your table unless you press the button on the side. For those who like to be left alone, this is perfect. I rarely venture out to this part of town since I live near DC, but I happened to be in the area and my partner wanted to take me here. We went for lunch right at opening and were greeted with such friendly faces. The atmosphere: The restaurant is a standalone spot with plenty of parking. Inside, it's beautifully decorated, mimicking a Japanese izakaya. There are flowers, paintings, lanterns, and lots of small details that make the space feel cozy and a bit like being transported to Japan. The food: To start, we ordered the Chicken Karaage, which was the perfect portion and paired really well with the mayo. The Hamachi Kama was served hot and was so delicious, definitely a treat and one of my partner's favorites. He also ordered the Berkshire Pork Sausage skewer and thought it was very tasty. We shared the Mentaiko Cream Udon and the Hako Sushi. The udon was a generous portion and very enjoyable. The Hako Sushi was the only dish I didn't love. The presentation was beautiful, but the texture felt a bit one note. That is more a reflection of the style of pressed sushi itself, though, and I personally prefer traditional rolls. We had no problems finding parking, there was a decent sized parking lot. They had some bar seating and it was a surprise to see how much seating there actually was. More private than public it seemed. The decor was very cute. We had made a reservation for 7 but actually had 8. My husband and I were early and they were quite busy for a Sunday evening and so adding an additional seating took about 10 minutes. They did say normally, they request that half your party is present before seating but they sat the two of us after letting them know the rest of the party would be there shortly. There's a service button that you can press to request service. They brought water right away and for a big table, our server navigated the number of orders being thrown at him. We ordered a small bottle of sake to start (Kubota Junmai Daiginjo) and a Sapporo. The sake was very good, a little sweet but pretty smooth. They do take mobile IDs too when checking for IDs. We ordered a wide variety off the menu for the 8 of us to share, some based off of the server's recommendations. Everything came out very quickly. We ordered: Yakitori Platter - Great sampler - We really enjoyed the Butabara (Pork Belly), Negima (Chicken Thigh w/ Leek) and Tebasaki (Chicken Wings). Everything was really well falvored and it came on a hot plate that kept it warm. Berkshire Pork Sausage Yakitori - This was very good as well - a little salty but overall very good. One Meter Long Sushi - I didn't get to try everything on there but the ones I tried were very fresh and good. Definitely would recommend splitting this with 2 people (maybe 3) if you want to try more of this. The Impossible Unadon - This was delicious and definitely worth it. The tamago that came with this was a great portion size and I absolutely recommend this. A5 Wagyu Golden Fried Rice Cha Han - Very flavorful - we all definitely enjoyed this and it was well seasoned and not overpowering. Signature Sampler - Not sure if I would ordered this again. There wasn't in the sampler that we didn't like but there wasn't anything that had stood out to us. Jumb Lump Crab Maruyaki - This was our least favorite item, our server did say it was very creamy but it was incredibly overpowering and it was on top of large chunks of avocado. Taiyaki with Red Bean Paste as a Dessert - The red bean paste was good and there was plenty of filling but the batter itself, there seemed to be something off but I couldn't put my finger on it. The red bean filling was very good. They DO also offer military discount with a valid ID and the individual who is the service member would have to pay (credit card to match the ID name). When my friend showed me a picture of some manga figurines, and insisted on trekking all the way to this place solely based on that, I was like BRO. This is like an hour from us, and did you even look into the food?? I told him he had to drive because that was far for a Tuesday night... so another friend and I met him in his neighborhood, and we were on our way! We arrived and I was shocked by how much awesome stuff (including Dolan Uyghur) is in the plaza where it's located. It's so far, but wow! And it's only 5 minutes from where I go for Super Smash Con. I skipped this year, but this could be motivation to return. So we went inside -- about 15 minutes late for our reservation due to traffic, but it worked out! We were led into this room stacked from top to bottom with an otaku's dream... check out my photos. And quite frankly, they don't do it justice. The room was fantastic... I didn't get to look hard into the other rooms, but it's the only one with that type of decor. Every room appears to have an epic theme of some sort. Anyways, specials were posted on posters on the shelves, and there was a buzzer on the wall to call a server in if we needed something immediately. Looking over the menu, they are best known for their variety of yakitori skewers. But they have sushi, a bunch of appetizers and snacks, ramen, desserts, and a full bar. I decided to try their signature sampler, which is served cold. I really appreciate our server (I believe her name was Samantha) for giving the heads up on that. I would've expected the items to all be served hot, but they were still great cold. There was tofu, veggies, chicken, and much more. I also got the toro tartare -- there was no description, but it just stood out to me... there was some sort of fish on top, caviar, and more, but the other layers? There was fruit... FRUIT. I was not expecting that! Loved it, but it was very very light. Also, $20 XD. Lastly, I tried the chicken skin dumpling yakitori, which was a limited one that had just recently launched and really enjoyed it. This is really far from home, but I'd return. Great ambiance, awesome and fast service and good food. We didn't get to sit in the main area due to long wait so we sat to to the dining area next to the bar. Food was great overall, ordered the Yakitori Platters, Karaage chicken and Wagyu fried rice. Karaage chicken was hot and crispy served to the table. From the platters, all was good but my fav was actually the chicken thigh and leek. Now onto the Wagyu fried rice, while it's good, I may have expected just a little bit more uhmph on it, a little bland side on the rice itself and the Wagyu. Our experience here was outstanding! Our whole family came, and we'll definitely be coming back for more. First, this place is gorgeous! Individual rooms to eat in. Each one, a different theme. The best decor I've seen and the nicest people work there. I've never had such great service. Especially with all of us in there together. We had so much food. At the bar, waiting on a couple family members, We had the king mushrooms, baby scallops and zucchini! We had some Gyoza dumplings. We then also had the sweet chili crispy wings. OMG! Yea yea yes this restaurant was sooo adorable! I was so overwhelmed when I walked in with all the nice decor that even the pictures I have taken don't do it justice. I was in the mood for sushi and the place I was going to try was closing so I came here instead. I was greeted when I first arrived and sat at my booth which was extremely cute. The menu is very interesting as I was just in the mood for sushi...but they have some great options like different meat items and other trendy food options. I really wish I lived closer to here because I would love to try the other menu items as there was a lot dot choose from. Now I'm not sure if they actually have a full bar as I was just ordering one of their signature drinks as I don't think the waitress understood when I asked her for recommendations on other drinks. One thing I did like as I just wanted basic rolls (yellowtail, spicy tuna, and salmon rolls) and they were able to make them no problem. This is how I test out the restaurant by ordering the simple rolls because of they couldn't get those right...then I would suspect they couldn't do complicated rolls either. Tried this place on a whim, I placed an online order for gyoza at 1:25, called to ask about it at 1:45 because I hadn't gotten a confirmation text. The person who picked up was nice enough, until I asked the status of my order. I watched it change from "still working" to "ready for pickup" right in front of me as she said "you just put the order in, you need to be more patient." So I hung up because I couldn't believe what just happened, and walked over to get it. The flavor is decent, but the wrappers are cold and gummy, probably from sitting. Who knows when I would've been notified if I hadn't called? I wasted my hard earned money, and I am very disappointed. Will not be returning, and telling all my coworkers and friends to stay away. As close to Japan as you'll get in the US I went to dinner with three colleagues who have all traveled to Japan -- real deal, ate-their-way-through-Tokyo Japan. Their verdict on Izakaya Nana? The closest thing to authentic Japanese food they've found anywhere in the United States, including the Japanese enclaves of California. That's not a small statement, and I'm not one to argue. The sushi was ridiculously fresh -- the kind of fresh where you just stop mid-conversation because your brain needs a moment. I ordered the dragon balls, which arrived with a dry ice display that was just as dramatic as it sounds. Fantastic presentation, even better flavor. Every single person at our table loved their meal. The staff was attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere is genuinely breathtaking -- you'd never guess from the outside what's waiting for you inside. I love the menu with their images. It helped hubby and me because of our bad eyesight. The food was great. All of it served hot. The portions were just right for us. However, 2nd time the service was lousy...waitress that took our order had ZERO personality, not even a "hello" or "welcome", and we had to press their "call" button at the table twice before she came. The waitress only checked on us once, and didn't bother to keep our water filled (I noticed she gave the other tables she waiter similar lousy service).
