The owner loaned to me a space heater until the job was complete. I only have one request from the company to use drop cloths as not to make a mess on their future projects. The owner, Chris was in touch with me from beginning to end of the project. I appreciated that very much. The two technicians that came over to the house were very polite and helpful. Will I continue doing business with this company? Of course I will and I think you could too. I would like to keep a good relationship with this company.

We ordered 100 gallons of oil at $3.49 a gallon and they claimed to have delivered it, but never…read moredid. I attempted to contact them via Facebook (they read the message but chose not to respond) and I also emailed the owner and received radio silence. We finally had time to call and they agreed that their driver messed up and said they would we refund us. During that time I had ordered another 100 gallons at $3.59 with a note mentioning their earlier mistake, hoping to be charged the $3.49 a gallon (it was about 5 days later). They ended up refunding us for the $3.49 a gallon order and not the $3.59 gallon order. So because of their mistake we paid an additional 10 cents a gallon. My issue is more of the fact that they knew they messed up and it was up to us to call and fix their mistake and that they ignored all written correspondence. They should have refunded us for the the 2nd order that we paid $3.59 a gallon for, not the first order of $3.49 a gallon.

I never have that issue with Roberts, as they are ethical and their pricing is competitive and updated daily on their web site. Also, despite the company being based out of Enfield and my residence being in Simsbury, I have never had an issue with oil deliveries, with most being delivered same day, since I always seem to order oil at the crack of dawn on their web site (super easy and convenient). They also typically do same day delivery if you order before 7 AM (I've maybe only had to wait the following day one time and it was during a holiday week, I believe). Roberts is also good about sending out reminder emails when they believe you are due for an oil delivery, which is great for someone like me who is on the go and doesnt always remember to check the oil gauge. I am very satisfied with Roberts and am grateful they are my oil supplier. Keep up the great work, guys and gals!

This would be 5 stars if they didn't end up price gouging for a routine maintenance visit…read more I've used them before, once for a routine service visit and once when a radiator pipe was leaking (they ended up also doing our next service on the boiler at that time). The first time they did the maintenance, they didn't drain and refill the boiler, which was always done by any previous service techs. The second time I asked them to (after they replaced the bolt on the leaking pipe) and they did. In June of this year when they came for the maintenance, I mentioned that I'd like the boiler drained/filled again. Steve starts talking about how if I want the boiler drained, there are separate charges since they are different jobs, the burner and the water. This is news to me; every reputable tech has always drained the boiler as part of the service, even when we had an oil boiler, and the charge includes both services. After spending no more than 15 min total on my boiler, I go to write a check ($125 a year ago) and he says he needs to call the office to get the price. Red flag. They did not quote me when I called, but I also had used them before for the same service and knew that if the price went up, say to $150, I would have been fine with that. He returns and says it's $325 and does this song and dance about how their costs have gone up and he's not going to charge me the $125 fee to come out. What? It would have been $450 for a 15-minute scheduled routine maintenance call? I followed up with the office a few times to get an invoice with the 2 "charges" broken out. You guessed it, a month later they have ignored the request. I try to keep my business local rather than go with the big companies. Top Mechanical gave me a great lesson on how the little guy will choose to rip you off if he feels he can get away with it. Go with the big company is the takeaway if you don't want to be ripped off.
