very unprofessional repair shop. Had some repair work done. I had them replace transmission fix oil leak on front engine and air conditioner. the transmission was installed poorly gear selector is off took it back twice, first time they installed transmission using old oil cooler, which took transmission out. second time did nothing as the selector still isn't working. the front cover is now leaking out of front main seal. and at conditioner still doesnt work properly. would never recommend this business paid close to $9000 and have to have it all redone at a different place. read more

Really can not speak highly enough about the folks at J&A - We were on the last leg of a roadtrip between Seattle and San Francisco when something in the undercarriage of our car started loudly rattling. Fearing the worst, we called around and J&A were the only folks in the area that would help us out. Given the circumstances, I braced for the worst, but they saw to our car right away, quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem and charged us a fraction of what I expected. It's not often that you find an auto shop that is so professional and so honest, straightforward, and extremely competent. No mystery as to why they have been in business for so many years. We were so lucky to find J&A Auto Repair when our car started having troubles on a recent road trip! We had been having some issues with lights coming on while driving on forest service roads so we wanted to get it checked out before continuing our trip. We showed up at J&A at 8 am the Monday after 4th of July and they technically weren't supposed to be open. The main mechanic/owner's wife had already called him in to come help out one of their regulars, and he was kind enough to look at our issue too even though it should have been his day off. Because no major issues came up in the diagnostic results he ran, we did still decide to go on our trip but just spent less time on forest service roads. :) We drove many more miles and made it home with no issues. Driving the barren stretches of Highway 97, our car suddenly lost all electric power and the engine conked out. We had a few moments of excitement trying to get the vehicle to the side of the road without power steering. Fortunately we had a jumper kit and we were able to restart the car. The question we faced ... was it going to happen again but in a more dangerous location like an intersection? We then started calling garages in Klamath Falls - as we were miles down the road. Five garages couldn't take us on the spot. One even said oh our earliest spot Is April 26. As that day was April fools day, I wondered if he was pulling my leg. The six place we called was Jay and A. They said bring it on in. 15 minutes later we were out the door with a replaced battery terminal. Nice folks too. read more

There are barely words to describe other experience with J & A, it was simply amazing. We were on our way to Burning Man, experienced an engine light and scary codes while getting gas, hunkered down for the night and called shops in the morning. A couple of other shops were to busy, but when we spoke to John it was obvious that he cared about us and our plans, so much so that he made time for us in spite of a full workload. He told us his wife would kill him for accepting more work, but thankfully they found the time to address the misfiring cylinders on our e450 shuttle bus (half of the 10...), replaced spark plugs and ignition coils, and taught us about our vehicle in the process. It took longer than expected, but the price was incredibly fair and they worked as we figured out how to pay them and we were back on the road by 2:30. The entire staff here was amazing, funny, honest, and thorough. I live in Eugene, but I'll be bringing my vehicles here if at all possible in the future. They deserve your business, that's for sure. read more

I was hauling a boat from FL & my transmission blew miles from the shop. Had my truck towed to AAMCO where I was given an estimate of almost $8,000! Our truck broke down just outside of Klamath Falls while pulling our travel trailer. Truck was bouncing all over the place. I thought it was needing ball joints replaced, according to everyone else. Plus no one could see me for several days because they didn't have the parts. Thank God they didn't. Folks at J&A lifted it, and found it was a quick fix and handled it within hours. I didn't make an appointment, & they were slammed.... But they were willing to fit me in. Not only did it change my rides world, their customer service was second to none. Highly recommend these guys, nice, honest, professional (and grrrrrrreat sense of humor) Don't pay extra to a corporate company. Keep it local, and get real service from real folks. J & A came through in a pinch, and we'll be forever grateful. I was hauling six horses from Eugene, Oregon to Las Vegas, Nevada when my truck lost all power. We were quite literally crawling over the mountain passes, limping along between 1 and 10 MPH on the shoulder, as log trucks and RVs swept by. We called at 3 pm on a Monday afternoon, desperate for help (we had to get to Vegas for a big horse show starting on Wednesday and there was no way we were going to make it without some major assistance). J & A agreed to take us in immediately. We limped into town, and they sprang into action. They quickly diagnosed the issue (the covers on all ten fuel injectors had been broken by a different mechanic when he replaced the motor earlier in the summer), quickly located 3 covers there in town replaced them right away, enabling us to get the horses to the fairgrounds where they could spend the night in safety, and then J & A ordered the remaining 7 covers overnighted from Portland. They were ready to go to work at 8 the next morning, when I brought the truck by. Served me ice tea and doughnuts while they were working on the truck, and had me back on the road by 10 am. AMAZING service, kind-hearted people, and skilled mechanics. AND their charges were incredibly reasonable, especially considering the great lengths they had to go to in order to get us back on the road. I'm seriously considering driving back to Klamath Falls from Eugene for future mechanical work on my truck. J & A rocks! read more

I have always been treated kindly and courteously when bringing my vehicles here in the past, and John and Amanda (owners) have always been very helpful and reasonable with their rates. However today, Memorial day 2019, was just amazing. I had just personally rebuilt the carburetor on my dual sport motorcycle, and was out for a test ride when it became plugged again, and I happened to be in the neighborhood of J and A. I literally could not keep my bike running, so I walked it down the street, hoping that someone was there. And there was John, out working. I asked him for some simple tools to borrow so I could disassemble my carburetor again, and not only did he allow me to use any tool I needed, but he also provided a workspace and some brake cleaner to use... for free. We were driving through K Falls Friday morning when our battery started rapidly discharging and went into red, then gas pump quit. We rolled to a wide spot in the road and called J & A Auto repair. John there gave us a probable cause so we had our RV towed that shop. We were told to go eat lunch and when we got back it would be fixed. Hour and a half later it was ready to go. We were amazed because the last time we broke down they kept it three days. We had no idea what it would cost and when the bill came it was slightly over $300 bucks......we couldn't believe how reasonable it was. We cannot recommend these people high enough. We are from the Seattle, WA area and had our A/C compressor seize up while visiting Klamath Falls one night. We're talking horrible sound and smoke and sparks here. We were scheduled to leave 2 days later to return home and we went to other mechanics in the area who all told us they were too busy and were quoting us something like $1200 for a part. J & A Auto Repair took us right away. They were so honest and kind to us. They looked at our car immediately, let us know that we could at least make it home safely without an expensive and timely repair right at that moment, pulled our serpentine belt off to show us that it wasn't damaged so the car was safe to drive, and removed our A/C fuse so we couldn't accidentally turn it back on on the way home. They explained everything in detail and even showed us the parts and explained the issue using diagrams and another vehicle where the compressor was easier to see. They even gave us the ballpark of what a quote to fix the issue should cost us once we did get home. I felt like they were family for the hour I was there and I wish every shop had people that were this knowledgeable, kind, and honest. read more

They were extremely friendly, and very quick to check out my vehicle. made an appointment to fix a thermostat on my jeep, when this shop ran out of their time to fix it due to a minor complication they quit working on it. my partner who took it in left shop and tried to drive it to me at work 6600 ft elevation and for the 1st time engine overheated and had to be towed but not back to this shop. in my opinion they kicked us out on the street. the front desk person was rude, repeated her opinions numerous times like I'm an idiot , highly unprofessional in both not finishing the job then to argue about it like it is my fault they couldn't finish the repair I sent it in for. now I have to worry about a blow head gasket or?? it never over heated until this shop touched my jeep. can not recommend them to anyone, feel completely horrible at my unfortunate experience. to finish story a what should have been a simple fix!!?? ends up destroying cooling system and with tow bill, projected rise in insurance, totalling 995.00 dollars. next time J & A Auto needs to finish a job because this "not allowing time" shouldn't cost me 700.00 dollars more than it should, can't recommend any auto shop who treats customers so poorly@ read more
