Kurt and his guys are pretty awesome. Six months ago I just moved back home to KF after being across the country for 20 years and had to leave my most awesome mechanic and shop behind for good, but dad's been coming here for years and really likes Kurt, so I brought my project truck here and couldn't be happier with them. For the naysayers and their reviews... they don't look at the world through realistic lenses and understand that "estimates" are just that, estimating until further opened and finding reality. Kurt and his guys are awesome; they totally accommodate my unusual life schedule and always make time for me. They are very friendly, very competent, and from my personal experience, very honorable. They quoted us a price od 7500 for a job we hauled our rig over they had it for a week and then called us to say that it was going to be 12500 they are a rip off. We needed the rig back in time for a family trip and will now have to cancel the trip! read more

A few mishaps in the beginning, ice storm in Portland caused delays for the parts. No one's fault. Had some issues after repair, these guys took it back in and fixed it no charge and even replaced my power steering pump. Would recommend! read more

Ya know, I just can't say enough good things about Emmett's Auto Repair Center. They are just plain awesome. I've been taking our family rigs to Emmett's for over 16 years. They've worked on our Nissan's, our Subarus and our Toyotas...big and little. They ALWAYS, and MEAN ALWAYS, go the extra mile for us. My wife is self-employed and relies heavily on her car to get her from job to job. The guys at Emmett's know this, so they always bend over backwards to keep her on the road. Anyway, as long as we live in Klamath Falls, we'll continue to rely on the expert and quality workmanship AND service that Emmett's always provides. Heaven help us if we ever have leave town. We were just passing through town and realized a piece of the undercarriage was dragging on the road. We called a few places, but Emmett's said they could handle it right away. Traveling home on the road from a 2 week trip, we started having a shifting issue on the truck. When getting a new transmission was all we could think about we were lucky to find Emmet's. The guys took us in right away, as we were pressed for time to get back home. They diagnosed the issue, were honest and trustworthy. While other places may take the easy way and give you a generic answer, these guys searched for the exact issue. They found it and fixed it and put us back on the road to get back home safely. I wish I could put in no stars! Horrible service! I brought my car in to get fixed but they said it was due to something else. Long story short, I had them fixed my car as per recommendation from Emmets, but the problem still persisted. I took it to them twice to check it. The last result was that the item I did need fixing was needed. Their response was was the gear box needs to be fixed too but all the other things that they replaced the first time was needed also. They said it would cost me more to fix it! No thanks! I'm afraid that if I continue, you might not fix it as needed. I'm never coming here again! read more

As a single mom with four daughters... reliable transportation is a MUST. When my vehicles need work, I need it to be fixed fast and right the first time. I was afraid of all the mechanic horror stories I've heard growing up - you can't trust mechanics... they never get it right, they charge too much. We have lived in Kfalls for 11 years and Emmett's has been our go to for all auto repair, they've done it all: scheduled tune ups, parts replacement, and emergency repair. Kurt and Jim -- the whole shop -- have always been friendly, professional and extremely helpful answering any and all questions. We are leaving the area soon and I just wanted to make sure that if you are looking for competence, great service and your money's worth this is the place to try...even if you're just looking for a quote these guys will help you. So, I'm leaving my original review below. Originally, rated the place as 5 stars. However, in light of recent information, its no longer 5 stars. Its now dropping to a 2 star review. Not sure if they just made a mistake or not, but I had told them that in addition to the check engine light there were certain issues, which tend to be indicative of "transmission issues" -- e.g. slipping between gear shifts -- so I wanted them to check my transmission fluid levels. What happened was that after they checked my engine issue (the TPS sensor, which they replaced, apparently), they told me that they checked the transmission fluid and it was fine. I trusted what they said, even though I had earlier tested it before my check engine light came on on Thursday, and it was low (I rationalized that I must have mis-read it, or that the car wasn't quite on level ground when I did it) and didn't need to be touched. Now, that issue has remained, and I'm finding mechanics here telling me that the transmission has a leak (a $700-$800 cost I would have had to take care of anyways) and that the transmission itself probably will need to be re-built/replaced (a $900-$1000 cost that I may NOT have required if we had topped off the transmission fluid and I told to take care of the issue sooner). I think the honest answer is that they just fixed the immediate issue, the check engine light went away, and then they either forgot to look at the transmission fluid, or assumed it wasn't a problem because the car more or less drove normally (minus the gear slippage). But for not helping proactively here, you guys lose a lot of credibility that I initially gave. -------------------------- tl;dr good place to take your car I had a good experience with Emmett's last week. Was driving my 2003 Ford Taurus, relocating from Seattle to Vegas, and it started doing some weird stuff on the way down to Klamath Falls. Luckily, it lasted up until 10 miles before Klamath Falls. Called AAA to get a tow and picked Midas off the local places, since it'd have a national warranty, etc. The tow guy recommended Emmett's instead, I looked at the Google reviews real quick, and then agreed. He told me that even though I was travelling, since they were AAA accredited or whatever, they would check out my car the next day (it was 4:45pm). They did, and it was a part that had been replaced 3 years prior, and was acting up in a recent check engine light issue 2-3 months prior to that, and so it was a relatively quick $200 fix. Looking at the single 1-star review on here, I suppose its possible they are dishonest, but my experience felt pretty honest, authentic, and legitimate. I didn't look inside or educate myself as to where in the car the new TPS sensor would go, so I don't know 100% that it was replaced, but I feel pretty darn good about the place, the guys who worked there dropped me off at a nearby hotel, and kept me updated through the day with a few phone calls, and offered to pick me up when it was done as well. In short, I trust Emmett's Auto Repair, I'd recommend for anyone passing through or who lives in Klamath Falls, and I left with a positive enough impression that I took the time to set a Google Calendar reminder to write them a review "next week" (which is now today) about how great they are...I don't do that for a lot of businesses. (Of course I was also distressed by the situation so of course I was going to remember it strongly haha.) read more

Rolled into town with my temp lite on. A traveling woman's nightmare. While waiting for morning to arrive I started checking reviews for repair shops. I was pleasantly surprised to find Emmets. The cleanest shop I have ever been in. They wrote me an estimate for the radiator repair and assured me it would be finished by day end. At all times I was treated with respect. Refreshing compared to "lets take advantage of a woman needing car repair" It was alot of fun talking with the locals that were getting minor maintenance to their vehicles. I sensed that The guys were highly respected by the community. By 3:30 I was on my way feeling very lucky to have broken down in Klamath Falls. My only regret is that I don't live close enough to make Emmets my go to repair shop read more

Too bad this does not allow for zero stars. They are a perfect example of why consumers are afraid to get auto repairs done. My vehicle developed a small vibration when I accelerated. I talked to Jim and said that even though I'm not a mechanic this reminded me of a problem my brother had years ago and it was his U-joints. After three days they said they could not find any problems and charged me $190.00 for nothing. I was very angry, paid the bill, Vowed to never return and went down the street to Ford. Within two hours they determined it was indeed my U-joints and had replaced them. read more

Interesting that there are so few reviews of an auto repair place. Maybe people in Klamath Falls don't use Yelp much? We found Emmett's through Google reviews and it seemed they were one of the better shops in town. Anyway, we had a good experience here. We are not locals; we were on a trip and were getting bad noises out of our brakes. Emmett's fit us in same-day and got us safely on our way over the mountain passes. The front office is quite nice -- spacious and clean with a seating area, rest rooms, and books of comics, so waiting there isn't bad at all. There are shops nearby to walk to as well. Jim and Kurt were nice and showed us the parts of the car they were going to replace and what was wrong with them. Things could have gone differently and seriously messed up our trip and our weekend, but it worked out OK and without a ton of stress. read more

Vehicle was towed there on a Monday by AAA. When I asked about it they said they would look at it to be fixed by Wednesday. Called Wednesday and told not in shop but would be in and look at it. Called Thursday still not in shop still not even going to try to fix it. Kind of smart alack about how they were getting the rest of their lot cleaned up. Called Friday still not in shop. We needed the rig for my son going to college, this was an emergency and they were contracted with AAA. AAA was contacted early and thought Emmett's was going to work on the pick up. Talked with AAA on Monday and had the rig towed to a shop in Medford on Tuesday. Shop in Medford had truck fixed by Thursday. New distributor and fixed the fuel filter. I do not know believe the shop could fix the rig. They either did not know how to fix it or did not want to fix it. They need to get off of the AAA list to repair. read more

I was very disappointed with this shops work. They charged me way over the estimate, then come to find out, it was a different problem entirely. Long story made short, I will never go back. Customer beware... I still have yet to have my car fixed right. After they replaced the distributer and it didn't run any better, they charged me so much for that $450.00. Then they said oh, maybe its a clogged exhaust pipe!!! No thank you...I will find someone else to work on it. read more

When I arrived in K Falls they were ready for me, got the part replaced and test drove the truck & I was on my way. The service was fast and the cost was fair. Our truck started running very rough shortly after arriving to Klamath Falls, and we were able to limp it over to Emmett's. Everybody at Emmett's took very good care of us and got us right in. I'll keep the story short. I'm in the military and was away. My wife was here with the kids. Our vehicle began leaking oil. I had changed the oil myself before I left. I called Emmett's and asked if she could bring the vehicle in. I explained I was away and any help would be great. My wife showed up 10min later. They replaced the oil filter and filled up the vehicle with oil.... ALL FREE OF CHARGE!! We were in a tough spot and Emmett's went above and beyond! They didn't have to but they did. We were traveling thru in our RV when we lost our brakes after filling up with gas (lucky for us). We called the local Ford dealer, but they could not fit a large RV in their shop. However, they did recommend Emmett's Auto Repair Center and we called them and they took us right in. We had the RV towed in and they put a tech on it within a few hours after arrival. They let us spend the night inside their facility and provided us with electricity. They finished us up the next morning and we were on the road again. We were very fortunate to have found such a great repair shop with a friendly and competent staff. It was 2:30 am as I pulled up to the California Ag Inspection station that my alternator gave out. Being a AAA member I called for a tow and was greeted in about 30 min. He recommended Emmetts Auto Repair as a solution to consider of which I did. Being greeted when they opened shop I was provided three different options for repair based on varied parts cost. I made a selection and was back on the road by 10am. They pointed out future issues to keep an eye on, one of which I returned to have them execute due what I have found to be competitive pricing as well as extremely professional friendly service. I have been please enough with the service to call AAA and let them know they are delivering the level of service that a member would expect and receive. I live in Bend, Or and do what I can to have Emmetts perform my service work when traveling through Klamath Falls.
