We just moved into our condo and our garage door was super, super loud. The previous owner had shored up two panels with 2x4's. I had 2 companies coming both saying I needed a whole new door and a new opener. But I did try to open the door with lift disconnected. It was pretty smooth and quiet. Call J&B and spoke to Kyle. Right off I knew he was an expert. He told me to disconnect the door and I told him it was pretty quiet. Told him about the 2x4's. He said, if needed, they would repair the door (the price he gave was super reasonable) but it sounded like to him all I needed was a motor. Gave me a great price. Recently I had damage to my home, requiring my garage door to be replaced. A spring on my garage door snapped this morning. I called and was quoted clear costs for replacement. Someone was out within two hours of my call, wore a mask upon my request, and replaced both of the springs and oiled all of the hinges and rollers. The cost on the invoice was exactly what I was quoted, and I have a three year warranty on parts and labor. A+, 5 stars, would definitely recommend J & B Doors. read more

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE TREATMENT! Guess I should have read the YELP reviews BEFORE hiring them. Had to order my garage door for rental property and Kyle said it would take several weeks, which was fine. When it came in and he called me and wanted to go the next day to install and I could not meet him that day as it was last-minute and I had plans. He then said he couldn't do the next week because he was out of town. I told him I was out of town the week after that. He complained saying he couldn't store the door that long. I then suggested he could possibly work with my tenant while I was away to install the door, that I was OK with my not being there, and I provided the tenant's contact info on a group text. Meanwhile we set the date for today, 7/7/23 since we would both be in town. Evidently while I was away Kyle and the tenant used a text that I wasn't copied on and rescheduled for last Monday. 7/3. On Sunday 7/2 my tenant used the group text to tell Kyle Monday 7/3 didn't work for him after all (I didn't even know they moved it). I suggested we stick with today. Then a bit later on 7/2 tenant said 7/3 DID work so Kyle was planning on going there Monday 7/3 and asked if I would be there to give him payment. Told him I would try to stop by but I had plans to have my family over for a get together that day (4th of July holiday weekend). He then CALLED MY HOUSE on SUNDAY 7/2 and proceeded to YELL at me about him getting texts on a Sunday, that he needed to do this, etc. Every time I attempted to speak he cut me off yelling at me. I couldn't get a word in edgewise. I was appalled and, in fact, hung up on him and sent a text that we would stick with the original plan for today. My kids were here when he called me and since I had him on speaker phone they heard this and couldn't believe he was screaming at me like that, and they told me I should cancel the order. I support small business and didn't want to stick J&B with the door they ordered so I left it alone. Today was installation and when Kyle called me for payment I told him he owed me an apology. He was quick to get hot and bothered again, refused to apologize and said I owed him an apology (not sure for what?). I have never been treated this way by a business owner. He asked me questions like "how do I know he put the garage door In", um because I'm the homeowner and I'm looking at the bill? The line of questioning was very defensive oriented on his end as though he spends his day having to be like that- hmmmm. Even though I only ordered a keypad for my garage door opener my experience was good. The owner Kyle and and his associate Jason were both friendly and knowledgeable about garage door openers. Kyle and I went through all my options including a full replacement of my system and at no time did I feel forced or intimidated to replace it. Another issue was whether I needed more garage door openers but I decided not to go for it for security reasons. The newer systems use a WIFI system which is more difficult to beat if a remote is stolen. When Jason came out to install our pad, he showed me how to add additional remotes to our system.
