This is THE WORST nail salon ive ever been too! I came in for a simple almond French tip chrome nails and left with the ugliest nails. Tried this nail salon yesterday for the first time. Bobby and his wife Judy are friendly and seem to run a tight ship. Bobby did my powder dip manicure and it came out perfect! The tech who did my pedicure also did an amazing job. And Judy picked out a color for my toes that matches my manicure so well. It was $30 for the gel powder dip manicure, $5 to silk wrap a broken nail, and $18 for the pedicure. Well worth it! read more

This is a mixed review. Judy is an angel. She does wonderful eyebrows & nails. All of the pedicure ladies are wonderful... I'm only giving them a 3 star review because the husband does a horrible job. He's very uninterested in what he's doing. Do not let him do your nails. He doesn't care. What you will love about going here is: the owners, husband and wife Judy and Bobby. Both of which are extremely sweet, remember your names, etc. I just got my powder gel done 3 weeks ago and it is STILL ON my nails.... WOW WOW WOW!!! Also, what makes a big difference to me is how with powder they do NOT make you use the UV light unlike most salons. THANK GOODNESS. Now what you might not be so happy about: the place is small so be prepared to wait or call ahead. Like other posts have said, I have yet to see them use new sterilized tools or buffers per person. Ok so yes gross... BUT because they are good and affordable it makes me want to buy my own set and bring it with me that way I am 100% sure it is just my own dead skin and no one else's. Had a fantastic spa pedicure here. They really worked hard to get my very badly callused feet soft and buttery. I enjoyed the massage of my feet and legs and they used nice rich moisturizers. I have to say I am truly disappointed, once again. I went here last week for a gel manicure and a callus removal pedicure. The pedicure was not great or to expectation because none of the callus was removed, we pay extra money for this service and I didn't get good service. Secondly, during my manicure I had to dictate every 5 mins how to do my manicure- the girl doing my nails was clearly new but didn't speak a word of English - you have one lady there that speaks 10 languages and has a bunch of employees that can't understand or communicate with customers properly because they are foreign. here's the worst part, I told the guy in the front that I wasn't happy with my pedicure and I showed him that none of the callus was removed, he simply tells me "ok, next time they will do a better job". Then still charges me for the service and has the audacity to ask if I want to leave tip. I am anything but a cheap person but I'm not going to give tip for a service I'm not happy with. He charges my card 78 dollars when the whole thing cost 70, I ask why and he says he put 5 dollar tip and there's a 2 dollar charge for using a debit card. WTF. I didn't ask to apply the tip. I was upset and I told the girl Judy that runs the place and she wasn't apologetic but yet wanted to give me a lecture about how giving a tip for a service is a nice gesture, and kept me On the phone making up excuses that the girl was new and her other employees were on vacation. no customer gives a shit about your employment situation, We come there to get a service that we pay for. This place is run by arrogant money hungry people with the worst customer service, their prices aren't cheap but their services are. they should have at least not charged me the full price of the pedicure since I didn't even get the full expected service, plus taking tip when I didn't authorize because the guy "didn't understand me" is a pathetic outcome, never going back here again. I got my sns powder and regular pedicure done here. The pedicure woman seemed like she hated her job which made me feel uncomfortable. The manicure lady was nice but did not clean up my cuticles as I asked and they don't use clean equipment. I like to see them take it out of the packaging after it's been sterilized but that's not the case. Their customer service is bar none. I remember the very first time I went in there for a mani/pedi- Judy introduced herself and asked me my name... I've been hooked ever since! I used to travel 3 hours from upstate NY to see Judy & Bobby every 3 weeks religiously! The main reason that I continue to bring my business here (besides the warm, friendly atmosphere) is the quality of the work. Bobby and Judy always give me the best manicures! My nails are beautifully shaped, everything is done to my taste and if I ever have a problem I know that I can come back and Judy & Bobby will try to make it better! Ladies- are you looking for an OPI Axxium or Shellac gel manicure (Judy&Bobby have tons of colors to choose from) that actually lasts a whole 2 weeks? Look no further! I am a RN, I wash my hands a million times a night- all of my colleagues are constantly checking out my hands because my nails always look so fresh, even after taking a beating at work! Everyone seems to complain that they try gel manicures and they don't stay put- I've even had polish on for over 2 weeks and other than a few chips and the gap at the base of my nails, my hands can remain intact! I first went to J&B because it is super convenient for me. I kept going back because of the quality. I see Bobby every two weeks for a powder manicure. My nails have never been so strong and looked so good! Their prices are extremely reasonable ($30 for a powder manicure, $25 for gel), and Bobby and his wife Judy are so sweet and personable. They always fit me in, even if their schedule is super busy, and if anything ever happens to my nails, they are always willing to fix it. I have been a long time patron of J & B Nails I introduced my mother, spouse and daughter to their service. The service provided by the underserved workers. They were very attentive to detail. However that all faded over two weeks. I went in on August 9, 2019 and as usual the husband and wife team shouted out "Manny Petty", my usual service for the last 10 plus years. Upon near completion, I told the young lady taking care of me I wanted to pay before applying any finishing touches. I gave her two twenties, expecting thirteen dollars back. To my surprise, I received seven dollars change. I have been paying the same $27 for years.( That was one their attractions) When questioned, Judy the owner stated their prices had went up and I accepted her explanation. But they really hadn't. I returned two weeks later for a repeat, but this time all the seats were full except one; the one that is in the front by the entrance door facing Post Ave. This seat is right under the sign displaying "Manicure $9. Pedicure $18" The same sign that had been there since I first started patronizing J & B Nails years ago. The same sign I had not looked for two weeks prior,when I was sitting in the rear of the shop near the drying station. Across from me to my right behind the desk where Judy and her husband sat, on the wall behind them was another sign and the first line item was Men's Manicure [Buff] $15. The sign used to display "Men's Manicure [Buff] $10", however the "0" had been changed to a "5", evidenced by the smudges around the number "5" in 15. As the young lady doing my manicure was nearing the end, Judy brought over a buff cube and told the girl in spanish to buff my nails. I have never gotten my nails buffed since patronizing J & B Nails. I have alway requested clear polish which Judy's husband stipulated. When the young lady attempted to buff my nails, I refused the service and asked for clear polish and she complied. This week, I waited until my service was completed before I payed. Again I was told the fee was $33 and while paying, I asked Judy "What is this? ( Pointing to the sign stating, "Manicure $9, Pedicure 18". Judy immediately replied Men's manicures are more. I stated this is the price I have been paying for years. She responded by saying "You even don't know how much I have been paying" stating I had been $28, [quoting the men's buff price before the change]. Now Judy had insulted my intelligence. She further justified her statement by referencing from memory the time I patronized her shop prior to the imposed price increase when my spouse paid the bill with my card. I responded "It was with my card, how would I not know. Judy stated "Men's manicure costs more, the cuticles are different. You don't know. " I responded there is no difference between a mans hand and a woman's hand. (Notice, she stated a man's manicure costs more than a woman's manicure. Judy said nothing about a pedicure price difference.) I realized at that moment, Judy was hungry for six bucks and was willing to sacrifice her integrity and long customer relationship for it. She was willing to lie and give alternative facts to justify her actions. (She would do well in today's political arena.) I did not have an issue with the six dollars price increase. I had an issue with being overcharged for a service I did not request or receive. Also the attempt conceal the deceit on my previous visit by Judy's attempt to engage my manicurist in a manner Judy believed I couldn't understand and impose a higher price service to justify her actions should they come into question. She knew what she had done two weeks prior and had probably observed me taking quiet notice of the signage. I have my receipts to verify my payments on my visits. With that said, the service performed by the girls is good, but not good enough to suffer the lack of integrity by the controlling partner. I will not patronize their service and any business that joined me will be absent moving forward. read more

The ladies are nice. Did a regular manicure and paid a little more for a longer massage in the pedicure. Job was ok. Manicure lasted 6 days because I usually applied coat every other day. Put 3 stars because i got cut once in one of my fingers. They remove the skin/cuticle too much. If I go a next time I might make an appointment with the owner because most of the good reviews are referring to her. read more

I came here for a gel pedicure after being recommended by a friend who gets her pedicures here. I loved it and the technician was very sweet but didn't speak English, which isn't a problem at all by the way, I speak Spanish. 3 weeks later my toes still look perfect and still no chipping! Very happy about that but the only thing I didn't like is that she rushed my pedicure even tho it was not busy at all. 10/10 painting job, 10/10 nail prep but when it came down to removing the dead skin with the pumice stone she really did not try at all. Very light touch and only scrubbed for about 10 seconds. Also when she was massaging she was squeezing and pressing hard and it was a little painful instead of relaxing. I asked her to be more gentle but still, very rough. I love how she polishes, and love how she removed all of my cuticles but other than that not highly satisfied. Will try this place out again tho, it's the only place that I've tried that the polish (even gel!!) has lasted this long. read more
