I brought in my wife's pair of cheap boots and my pair of expensive boots to be resoled. It was $200, which seemed fair, but they used the same soles on both pairs. Now my expensive boots look cheap. I'm not sure if something was lost in translation; my boots are vegan, but the man I spoke to insisted they were leather, even though the tag clearly said "VEGETARIAN SHOES." I wouldn't recommend bringing a nice pair of boots here. I'd happily pay a bit more for better quality, which wasn't offered. read more

Took a pair of leather prada boots and had them stretched and widened due to being pregnant last year they became to perfect of a fit. Picked them up four days later and they were the perfect fit. I do not recommend this business despite the all good reviews. We brought a $200 pair of shoes for a repair. We needed to repair the sole and the cobbler recommended to paint the tips to hide some wear and tear. He promised to finish it in 3 days. After 3 days we came to pick up the shoes but were told it's not yet ready. Apparently he didn't even started. Came back after 2 days and noticed that he applied almost a pink paint on the light brown shoes! Who does that!!!??? Moreover the work on the sole was mediocre quality. We refused to accept the job and were told to come back in 2 days. Came back again and apparently they didn't have the right paint and had to order it. We decided it's enough and we'll take the shoes and pay only for the sole job. And this time we were talking to the tailor since the cobbler was absent. Not only the tailor was rude but he started aggressively demanding to pay the full amount. We refused to pay the full amount and were arguing with the tailor until another customer came in. Only then the tailor changed his tone and agreed for the lower amount. I would also not trust the cobbler. 1 star for: - No customer service - Being rude and aggressive when someone disagrees with the quality of their work 2 stars for the quality. read more

This repair shop is a absolutely outrageous and the owner is rude, not professional whatsoever, and his in-appropriate comments were uncalled for and unnecessary during my last visit to pick up my purse!!!! I know the owner for many years now as he has been a patient at my place of work. Upon leaving my Louis Vuitton bag for zipper repair, he did not give me a ticket because as I stated we know one another. He asked me to give him some time so he can order the appropriate parts in order to fix My LV. I gave him a little over a month and WHEN I FINALLY CAME FOR IT .... he apparently lost his memory and didn't remember what item I left with him and who I was !!!! Again we know one another for years. I was absolutely shocked and upset . His attitude was very unprofessional telling me I have no ticket and no proof of the item being left for his services !!!! He even told me that he probably gave it away to Salvation Army ! I can't explain how upset I was !!!!! I called my husband and asked him to call the shop and talk to him man to man -handle . Whatever my husband told him apparently worked !!! The very next day this man gained his brain back and remembered who I was apparently because he came to my place of business and delivered my "so called missing bag" - horrible fixed and semi damaged ! Please be aware of this place DO NOT GO THERE !!!!!! The bag is now ripped in a few areas and the zipper repair looks so cheap and horrible . Beautiful job resoling my vintage cowboy boots for a very reasonable price and ready within a week.

I don't think there's a town anywhere in the world that has as many shoe repair shops, or cobblers as they were once commonly called, per capita than New York. Which is a good thing. All of them seem to be family businesses that pass down from father to son and have been around forever. And for the most part they're all pretty damn good at what they do. So how does one distinguish itself from another? Well truth be told they don't. No matter where you move in manhattan queens or brooklyn you're bound to find a long established shoe repair shop around the corner that does good work and charges a ridiculously low price for their work. And this place is no different. What does stand out is that the owner is a SUPER NICE GUY. He's social and cordial, can speak decent English, isn't rude or snotty, does good work and charges average prices. (I've seen lower to be honest. But I don't mind paying this guy a little more due to how clean his establishment is and how nice he is.) And so far I've not been able to bring him anything he can't handle. Just did a complete resole on one of my favorite pairs of boots. Now they're good as new once again. Good work. Good guy. read more

I need VERY extreme orthotic adjustments to my shoes (due to very bad foot problems). Nick does an AMAZING job doing this VERY difficult work -- work that enables me to continue walking upright on my own two feet. I seriously have no idea what I would do without this 100% GENUINE TREASURE of a shoe repair shop. This is the BEST shoe repair shop I have ever worked with, and I have needed orthotic adjustments to my shoes for several decades now. This is a great find. They do amazing repairs and not just of shoes. I had them resole my hiking boots and rebuild the linings. The did it for less than the mail order services for hiking boots and faster. They also went over the sole choices which Resole America did not and got wrong twice. I also had them renew my orthotics. They charged 20 dollars for what the doc wanted 100. And they're perfect. They also do clothing repairs. I had them reset a zipper in a pair of ski pants and they were perfect. I've used other sewing services in the neighborhood and they've not been nearly as good. read more

This place is amazing. Hands down, the greatest shoe/leather repair shop I've ever come across, and I have ventured into more than a few. I found a flyer of theirs in my mailbox a few weeks ago, and decided to not immediately trash it. I bought my boyfriend a great leather wallet that was broken(the snap closure broke clean off and Brooklyn Industries refused to help, thanks jerks), and after he decided to wear his favorite leather boots to the muddiest Governor's Ball ever, I needed to call this place up. I walk in, flyer in hand, and the man behind the counter was as happy and helpful as can be. He was super enthused that I had the flyer and lived nearby, so he gave us a deal. To fix the intricate wallet was ten bucks (I asked him if it was possible to open up the stitching and replace the snaps like that which is how it was originally, and is more difficult), and he said not a problem at all! The boots he had cleaned, polished and waterproofed for me for ten bucks as well. Twenty bucks for a wallet that was in major disrepair, and boots that we thought were goners for sure and now look 'better than brand new', as my guy puts it? This place is the only place I'm ever taking anything to again. Their great demeanor is a big plus as well! read more

Just dropped off for my next repair. This is place I go to because he is good, fair, and fast. He does very good work while offering a fair price. I'm never in a hurry, so to do what he does in a timely fashion is fast enough for me. This place is like when you find a good auto mechanic. And a week later my boots are done. His work is top notch. My boots are from Timberland Boot Company and not only to he repair the shredded opening at the achilles on both boots, a problem caused by by wearing almost every other day, are now even better and looking even more bad ass. read more

I have been coming to this place since it was first open, and there hasn't been one time that I've walked out of this place with regrets. There is nothing that the owner can't do, he does all fixtures to perfection, I've even taken to him my 1 year old daughter's booties. The last job that I brought to him were some old suede ankle boots which I was thinking to trow away but I decided to give them a second chance. When I wen't back to pick them up I was really amazed when I saw the end result, they look better from when I first bought them. Don't even bother bringing your shoes here. Dropped off shoes Thursday and was told they'd be ready Saturday. Came in Saturday and they weren't even started yet. No big deal we'll come back later because he said it wouldn't take that long. When we came back hours later they were done but my girlfriend was unhappy and it was a rushed and sloppy job. The glue wasn't dry and they were already fringes coming up.When she started to complain the cobbler started to rip the new insoles out of the shoe and took the old ones out of the garbage to give to us. I had told him before hand to keep the money and we'd go elsewhere. Then he didn't want to give us the shoes back . He was complaining about him wasting his time when I had to stop him by screaming "Just Give Us The F@#king Shoes Back!" All of this could have been resolved with a calm communication and customer service. They can keep the $15 because I'll never go there again and I've lived down the block for 20 years. read more

Local cobblers can be hit or miss and even though this place has been open for almost a year now, I only went today since I didn't want to lug my shoes into the city to go to the cobbler by my work. I walk in and lo and behold, its the same dude that used to work at the cobbler by my office. The same cobbler that high end shoe stores tell you to go to because that's where they send their repairs. The prices are definitely cheaper than what I paid in the city and they do just a good of a job. So happy to find a trustworthy cobbler that's open early enough for me to drop off my shoes before I go to work and pick it up on my way home. Put soles on my shoes the same day I brought them in. Quality job for a fair price. I've heard of people putting rubber soles on their welt construction leather soled shoes and boots, doing it themselves, which makes no sense. My new boots hadn't been worn yet and I wanted to make sure I get the most traveling done before the leather sole wears out or cracks from moisture. I also couldn't wait to start wearing them, so getting them back in a few hours was much appreciated. I went in on a Saturday so there wasn't any weekday crowding.
