Bushwick is sleeping on this cobbler. I gave the guy my leather boots at noon on Saturday. They were in bad shape - tip and heel rubber busted, stitch ripped, scuffed like mad. He made them look good as new in 5 hours. Same day pick up! I couldn't believe it. careful when bringing any shoes to this establishment. I have lived in this community a little over 50 years and I am a firm believer of shopping in my community. However, this was one of my biggest mistake thus far. I decided to bring my wedding shoes so that the straps in the front can be adjusted and the heel shorten. The shoes were made by a designer on Etsy and I took my time to buy these shoes; it was the best purchase ever however, to my surprise, they ruined my shoe. The fabric on the strap which was white was dirty and it appeared discolored, a little dark. I was happy with the repair but I was not happy with how the situation was handled. I then told the shoe maker that the shoes were dirty, he told me , when I brought the shoe it was never white. I was in disbelief and could not believe what he was telling me we went back-and-forth. and wanted to know what the problem was. I explained clearly what the problem I paid him the money for the repair. He then accused me of being a liar, which was insulting to me, but he then denied calling me a liar, which was a joke. The only one thing said was that he would take the shoe and try and fix it, and told me to come back tomorrow. I spent all day contemplating going back to the shop and see my shoes again the shoemaker was not present, but the woman from yesterday once she was passive aggressive. She went to the back and brought my shoes. The box was opened, and the shoe look better, but the fabric wasn't the same color (pure white). she too defended the shoe maker although she was not there when I brought the shoe. she then told me that a lot of people with way more expensive shoes come in and never have a problem. then she questioned how much I paid for my shoes? " You said yesterday 200 now it's 134?? I t replied it doesn't matter how much the shoe is, it's about the service. she then became upset and asked if I wanted the $40 dollars back for the repair. I responded yes. once I received the money she told me to get out "Get out Puerto Rican. what's sad is that she is a Latina woman herself it's interesting all the great reviews, but I'm a sure it wasn't a wedding shoe . please consider your choice. they are rude, liars and racist read more

There are some difficult elements to navigate. It's cash only and cash up-front, and sometimes the owner steps out on errands/breaks for ambiguous periods of time. So, you sort of have to take your chances and hope he will be there when you arrive. Still, he fixed the worn-out heels on my boots for $7 with a one-day turnaround. He also let me pay the next day since I didn't have cash when I dropped off the shoes. The repair feels sturdy, and I'm happy with his work. read more

Very excited to have found this place! I've been a few times now and am consistently impressed. The best was when I brought him my boots. My doggie chewed the top off one of them and so now, VOILA! STAY AWAY STAY AWAY! THEY WILL SCAM YOU! I dropped off three pairs of pants in the morning. The store owner said his wife was the seamstress and that I would need to talk to her. We had agreed that I would call after she got in, and I left my pants and the hemming adjustments I needed with him. This was so she could assess the price quote. When I called that evening to speak with her, she said she didn't speak English, and then gave the phone to her husband who proceeded to quote the jobs. He over priced it and then we argued. I said that's too high, I am coming to get my stuff. He lowered the price, I said that is still too high. Then he said that I could get them in the morning and I said that's fine but I don't want you to do the jobs. You're pricing it too high. Then he started lying, said that his wife already did the jobs, we argued because that wasn't what I authorized, and he hung up on me. I called back, he yelled at me but mind you, referring to me as 'mami' incessantly, and then hung up again!!! I have to go in the morning to get my property, having no idea what condition they're in, or if he will deny ever seeing my property to begin with etc. when I call the god damn police to mediate this bullshit. OMG! Having no shoe repair near me I asked my tailor to recommend one. I had purchased 3 pairs of exquisite $600 Roberto Del Carlo boots on sale! at $300 per pair, and a pair of Vic Matie loafers $400! I sprayed shoe stretch on one pair of the Del Carlo's and it lightened areas of the BEAUTIFUL perfect blue.Should have kept them as they were! I told him if you can't restore them, don't touch them! I wanted them dyed to original color. He used shoe spray paint! They were a gorgeous MATTE leather. Now they look like shiny Electric Blue Plastic! Paint is already chipping off, and leather turned crinkled in areas.Just picked them up today! One pair just needed stretching, he ruined those and the leather color as well! The loafers have holes in them from a tool, I suppose; and there is glue stuck all over them! One pair I wanted dyed black came out wearable, but not great! Dying a shoe does not mean using shoe spray paint! He charged $15 to stretch, $30 per pair to dye when he used spray paint! Not cheap! I am in tears, never got the chance to wear any of them. Over $900 plus repairs down the drain! Should have gone to Mid-Town. Oh, he took a month to fix-ruin! I know a lot about shoes, and quality repairs; this guy doesn't have a clue about shoes! I have never seen a shoe discolored and misshapen from stretching! If you need a heel replaced, maybe. Anything else, stay away! Run don't walk! UGGGH! Wonder if I can take him to small claims court.
