THIS GUY IS THE REAL DEAL!!!! He is the holy grail of contractors. I was amazed by his professionalism, attention to detail, and his promptness. Israel responded to my many messages in record time and was super accommodating with scheduling. I only requested he do touch up paint on our base boards and he painted THE WHOLE THING! They look better than when we first got them. His caulking technique is so clean and the finished product is truly amazing. We had gotten our floors redone, and as a result our base boards were pretty torn up. After deciding to keep the base boards we had low expectations on what the final result would look like. Israel took the time to carefully caulk around the baseboards and repainted the whole thing. They look brand new!!! I was renovating a condo in Park City, but I live out of town. Unfortunately, Israel took advantage of that. For what was contractually outlined as a 6 week project (from start to finish), it took about 7-8 months to get halfway done. We moved to a pay-as-you go structure after about 6 months, where he took two last payments from me (which added up to the progress payment he was looking for) and then he stopped responding to me altogether. Along the way, I would check in (on a weekly basis), and he would tell me he wasn't able to make it that week for various reasons that didn't seem to add up (eg, saying he got snowed in - even though the weather app said sunny and 65°). At one point, he had finally admitted that he took other jobs and had been blowing me off, but said he was quitting those jobs to start on mine (this was good since I had paid him half upfront and was getting worried). At first, it seemed like he was telling the truth, because for the next month or two after that, he got a lot done. But, ultimately, he ran out of steam and I ended up with half a project and having to find a new contractor to finish it up (again, he completely disappeared and stopped responding to my texts/calls altogether) Difficult for me to comment on the quality of the work since everything was half finished (tiling without grout, light fixtures dangling from the ceiling, appliances not installed, cabinets never built, etc). The paint was fine enough - not too much that can be messed up on that. And the light switches seem to work (though they're all dangling out of the sockets as well). I'd caution he's lacking severely in integrity/honesty, so if you decide to work with him, I'd suggest structuring a deal that keeps him incentivized/motivated to work. If you rely on honesty/empathy you may run the risk of getting burned. Most of all, I would recommend avoiding working with him if you don't have the ability to check on the project, in person, on a regular basis (say, twice a week or so). And I'd suggest you get solid evidence of work being complete before making payments. read more

This contractor was awful! He said he'd be here at 8 a.m. then texted that morning to say it would be 9 a.m., showed up at 9, then said he and his workers were going to Denny's for breakfast. Finally started working at about 10:30 a.m. he had a kid helping him that had never laid flooring before and it looked awful. It hadn't even been locked together upon removing it. I had to pay someone else to come in and re-lay the flooring. They wasted so much flooring, I had to buy 7 more boxes at $4/sq.ft. Terrible experience. read more

I bought a front door and simply needed a professional installation of that door. Communication: We texted back and forth, I sent him pictures and he was very prompt in answering ALL of my questions. Reliability: He came to my house when expected, made no excuses and just got to work! The demo was fast, the install took some time but got it in. He had to come back, but EVERYTHING remaining was done to Perfection! Door closes well, locks good & NO air penetration in to the house. Honest: He offered a free estimate and stuck to it, although my job was much more difficult than he and his crew estimated. He didn't try to upsell or give me ANY B.S. about why it's now going to cost more.... I watched how difficult my project was to them, and they did not complain! How Awesome & Professional! Respectful: He explained the extra things that he and his crew had to do to fit my door, I have an older home, so that was great. They Always swept up after themselves and were very polite/professional to me and my family! He spent SO much time making sure everything was perfect.... We are remodeling our laundry which contained a half bathroom into a separate 3/4 bathroom and laundry. We had the plumbing moved around by another company (Evolution Plumbing). Israel, Chris, JT and Israel's brother (did not get his name) installed a pocket door, built the divider wall, waterproofed our new shower area and leveled the floor. My wife and I are going to do the finishing parts (tiling, painting, drywalling and flooring) to save money by providing sweat equity. Israel and his crew are great people, and provided excellent service. They did a fantastic job, and the structure looks great. Israel always does respond when you ask him a question, and is very flexible in what he will do and will listen to you about what you want. He has an excellent eye for building, and does the job right by making sure that things are built well. His pricing does seem fair, and Israel and all of his crew are polite and had great manners. They also did clean up well, and the site was broom clean once they were done. Since there would be some dust, I did ask him to close the doors to contain the dust, and they did just that. I do not know for sure if they would have been mindful enough to do that on their own, but I assume that they would have. In addition, they know their own limits and can recommend tradesmen when they can not perform a certain aspect of a job, for example electrical work. The only negatives I have for them is that they might take longer on a job than anticipated. Israel thought it would be a 2 day job, but it dragged out to 3 days of work. He was also a day late with his initial estimate too. For us this was not horrible, but if you are on a very tight schedule you should probably let him know so he can plan accordingly. Finally, I would recommend J&D Home Innovations to anyone who is looking for some remodeling. They are honest, fair and great to work with. Thanks again Israel! read more

The service was friendly; however, the brothers who provide it have difficulty staying on schedule, and consequently cut a lot of corners. Israel first rescheduled from Thursday to Friday. On Friday, he texted to say he was 15 minutes away, and then called to say he was sending his brother instead. The brother, Clinton, did not show up until over an hour later -- at this point pushing six p.m. Clinton immediately fixed my front doorknob, which was nice but not something I asked him to do. He needed my ladder to get to the roof, where he assessed my old swamp cooler. He repeatedly told me it would require a vinegar rinse as well as new pads. He also looked at my dryer ducting and said it needed a clamp to hold it to the wall. Leaving to purchase supplies from Home Depot (2 miles away), he said he'd be back in 25 minutes. He was gone for over an hour. When he eventually returned, Clinton worked very hard at manually scrubbing calcium deposits off the swamp cooler. He told me he could get it running, but that it could use sandblasting and refurbishing which he'd have to do off-sight, and which would cost upwards of $350 more. I asked him several times if he was still going to do the vinegar rinse, and he said yes each time -- up until he left without doing it, after nine p.m. He vacuumed up a mess of dryer lint but turned out not to have bought the clamp we had discussed. He explained as he was leaving that his brother -- who was never at our house -- had told him the clamp wasn't necessary. Clinton did work hard for several hours, and I believe he has the knowledge and initiative to do the tasks we hired him to do. Unfortunately, however, he and his brother did not seem to have the time. read more
