The company salesman misdiagnosed the issue at hand. We were sold an interior french drain with a sump pump and found out later that we needed an exterior drain. In addition, the pump never came on because it was clogged with rocks. The salesman stated that our warranty would come in the mail, but it did not. Granted, I should have read the contract prior to signing. When I spoke to the owner, he said I signed a contract that stated I needed to pay for the warranty. However, the salesman stated that the company was owned by a Christian, and I trusted him. JD Waterpoofing performs terrible work. Definitely do not hire this contractor! 5 Stars for the guys doing the hard work, 1 star for the company and their salesmen. Jeramie & Andrew went above and beyond with our porch lift to make sure our porch looked good. they were very quick & professional, it's now stabilized and will no longer sink further. HOWEVER I have to express dissatisfaction with the company as a whole, in particular their Higher-ups not performing the jobs. They will oversell you on the results for achieving lift and repair, then try to avoid all liability by stating there is no guarantee. You may be throwing thousands of dollars at something with no visible improvements. When the end goal is raising back into place a slightly sinking wall or porch with a bit of separation, that seems ridiculous. After speaking to the company about their deceptive practices they had the crew (to no fault of their own) do a little more mortar & repair to make the end result look passable, I still feel bad they had to pick up for the company's shortcomings. read more

These guys suck!! do not use. They were contracted to waterproof a basement over the course of 2 weeks. One week goes by, they not only destroy my things in my basement by tossing them on top of each other, but stepping on them!! After week one, THEY NEVER COME BACK. I have to beg for A MONTH for them to finish the job. I was left being told to have my house unlocked the entire time JUST INCASE they wanted to do it on a random day. They will tell you that they have fixed the problems with communication that are outlined in the reviews, that is not true. The work we had done by J&D Waterproofing was a terrible experience that we are still not done dealing with 2 months later. - The first start date (June 25th) I had to call and ask when they would be coming out, they had to call me back, they told me they would not be out that day due to PA 1 Call not coming out. They told me they would be out next Thursday - I confirmed twice that they meant 1 week (that was July 2nd and I didn't think they would start before a holiday weekend) - The second start date (July 2nd) I called and asked when they would be out, they told me around 11am - We received a call later and was told they wouldn't start till the following Monday. -Monday (July 6th) no show, so I called - they had an issue on a different job, will be out later or tomorrow -Tuesday (July 7th) no show, I called, they were still having problems on another job. Was told by the sales guy that work would be completed this week. -Wednesday (July 8th) they showed up late, worked 2-3 hours that day and then had to get more equipment. -Thursday (July 9th) they hit my house at least 3 times this day with the digger, causing damage to my 92 year old home. worked less than 7 hours. -Friday (July 10th) damaged the house 2 more times, worked minimal hours. -Saturday (July 11th) came out LATE in the day and worked 2 hours -Monday (July 13th) damaged the house again while back filling -Tuesday (July 14th) finished back filling - still needed the surface drain installed, the mound of dirt moved and repairs done. -Thursday (July 30th) the surface drain was installed, grass seed put down and covered with straw -Friday (July 31st) they called us for payment, but we told them they would not receive payment till damage was fixed. they sent someone out that day to do repairs. -Tuesday (August 4th) the disturbed area dropped (we called at least once a day with no response till Friday) -Saturday (August 8th) they returned to fix the first "settle" of the yard - but did not bring gravel, or enough dirt -Monday (August 10th) returned with more dirt -Tuesday (August 11th) returned with gravel and finished the fix Overall job took longer than anticipated. the crew damaged a lot of my property (J&D did fix the problems eventually, but only after asking for payment) the ground has "settled" twice now the first time (August 4th) was drastic, the second (August 22nd) we fixed ourselves because we aren't waiting forever for them to return our calls. The ground has "settled" a third time now (August 28th), we are trying to get them back out here to figure out what is happening. They overcharged our credit card and told us we would see a refund and we still haven't over 2 weeks later. They ignore phone calls, or answer and tell you they will call you back and then never do. - We still do not have our warranty paperwork that we were promised. read more

i feel so bad for my neighbors. I've been witness to what's not happening at their home. Your workers sit around, take smoke breaks, go on car rides more than actually work. And when they are doing something, they're moving extremely slowly and look like they have NO CLUE what they're doing. Im sure my neighbors would like to have their house done sometime this year. So unprofessional, I'm glad Ive been working outside and witnessed this before calling for an estimate on my own house. And the fact that there's paint chips all over the ground is so sloppy and dangerous. We both have pets and children. Again, I feel so bad for my neighbors. I hired J & D WATERPROOFING to waterproof my basement, they were eager to call me back and visit to give me an estimate and for me to sign a contract. I thought, 80 years in business, that must account for something. the reviews I found were mixed ( as most business' are). the guy that came down was prompt and knowledgeable, communicating by text. The day comes, they come to do the work, I am assuming the drain system was installed correctly, but my brother (who is a contractor and just happened to be visiting) noticed and filmed that they nicked my sewer and broke the drain where my utility sink was, they never breathed a word of it to me, i told them the next day, much to their dismay i am sure, he admitted to it and fixed it, or so i thought. over a month later my pipes start backing up in my house, and its all because where they "fixed" it, they never SEALED it. Much to my dismay, I have called and left messages at the business office, I texted the guy that gave me the estimate, the guy that did the job, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WILL RESPOND. Finally they put one of their staff up to call me, this guy came and jackhammered up the floor again, my dad (a contractor for over 50 yrs, and in his 70s) found the problem, took videos and pictures. Both incidences have been emailed, texted to the company. Guess what, NO REPLY. My father who I repeat is in his 70s, has fixed THIER MESS UP, so that I may have a toilet to use and a shower. So my thought is ..... "lifetime warranty"-will this actually even be honored without a lawsuit? I try and give people the benefit of the doubt, but this has pushed me to my limit. On top of all that, they brought a sealed box of plastic sheeting (my father overheard foreman telling them to cover everything up), well guess what, NOPE. They smoked in my driveway, while they were working, with my garage door and subsequent basement door was open, it went through my vents and to my upstairs living area. They left garbage, cigaratte butts, concrete residue in my driveway, and ran over my newly finished flower bed, pushing the blocks in the ground. It was my fault for paying them in full for the TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Their customer service is NON EXISTENT! Their ACCOUNTABILITY is NON-EXISTENT. NO PRIDE IN THIER PRODUCT! My basement and garage are a horrid mess and smell like sewer. This is my home, I take pride in it, and I bust my ASS for the money I paid them to "complete this job". Please, really do your research before choosing this company. I am just mortified, this has been very distressing, I feel it is only right, to receive, some sort of compensation, not only for my stress, but also for my father, and his time fixing what they refuse to acknowledge. They took forever to finish the job. They strung extension cords across the ceiling of my basement to get power to the pumps. They put in wall braces on the wall and forgot to mention that you had to torque the bolts once a month for the life of the braces. They do not return phone calls and I am overall disappointed in the service. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Do not go with this company... they sent a salesman to my home ... I live in the south side so only one of my walls is underground, he insisted that the water I saw on the ground was from that wall. He explained I needed this elaborate system with a pump to dry out my basement. When the first set of techs came to open the floor along the wall to put down the drain and pump I asked the techs did they see any water on the wall or ground because it had rained that week?????? and they replied no... that portion of my basement was bone dry. They finished and left, well it rained again that week and again I saw water in my problem area. I called and explained my concern, I was told the system had just been installed and to give the pump time to work.... well it's been three years and my basement is still wet... Our home had a system installed by J&D prior to purchase 20 years ago. The home had been inspected and we were told it was inadequate in improperly done. We called J&D and they said they would come out to look. They said they needed to put bigger better anchors, and more of them for about $4000 (with the lifetime guarantee on original job???). We agreed and paid $900 down with a date of service. That date came... we did all the things they asked. (Take down a wall, remove all items, etc.) They didn't show.. I called and got Sean about 9:30 the day the work was to be done. He said they will be there.. probably by 11, I'll call you back in 15 minutes. At 11 I called back.. He didn't know why there weren't there. Last I heard for days. My wife spoke with Sean a few days later to see when there were coming.. He FREAKED OUT ON HER, M-F'ED HER UP AND DOWN! He yelled about these F'ing nurses and medical people thinking they are so special with all this Covid Bulls$$t... (my wife is a nurse). After this cuss filled rant to very shocked woman he told her, "we'll be there when we'll be there" and hung up on her. We cancelled.. and had to wait a month for our deposit. This company in SICK... The worst company you can request for fixing your water issues! They come in with the religious pitch so you can trust them, and they do a half ass job, they even ran the pipe away from the pump so when the water came in, it still flooded my basement. Brian (the boss) even laughed when I told him about my issue and refused to come out to fix it because I didn't send in my yearly $25. So I had a friend of mine do the repair. This review is not to bash the company it is just to give an account of events so possible future customers can choose if they would rather go with J&D or another company. It is long but might be worth the read before spending thousands. I have included a summary and then dates and details below so if you don't want to read the whole thing you can get an overview from the summary. Summary: I paid J&D $7,600 to waterproof my basement and brace a wall. I originally took off 5 days from work for them to do this. Over the next several months I had to take off an additional 4 days because they sent people out to fix a problem that they didn't take the time to understand or completely cancelled appointments while in the time window they were supposed to arrive and told me I would have to reschedule. I spent a total of at least 8 hours either trying to get ahold of someone at J&D or on phone with admins, managers and even the owner himself to get the issue resolved. I was promised that people would call me and never did. In the end it was fixed but I wanted some money off for the additional time I had to take off work. They told me that their warranty does not cover the water still coming in the basement because they did everything correctly and there is more water than is normal which isn't covered by the warranty but they were not charging me so I should be happy. They offered me a $100 gift card and told me that was generous. I didn't accept it and now I am writing this review. If they read this and offer me more than a $100 gift card I will update the review to show that they are willing to be accountable for making someone take an additional week off work. If I could give these people a 0 I would. Signed with them to place a sump pump in my basement at a home I recently purchased. My first concern was they agreed to have everything finished by our closing date, I came to the home to find 1 single man attempting to do all of the labor by himself. Needless to say this was the most half assed job I've ever seen. No pride taken in their work whatsoever. My paneling was removed due to water damage, they left jagged pieces of paneling hanging off of my walls and a huge mess in the laundry room (my floors were not only scratched and scuffed to the point of needing re-enameled but piles of dirt and debris left all over the place). They disconnected everything in my laundry room to place the concrete & signed a contract to put everything back the way it was. I moved into the home after the job was "done". Went to go do laundry after I cleaned the huge mess left, & flooded my basement because I assumed they put everything back like they said....my stationary tub had brand new piping placed prior to J&D coming, and THEY LOST THE PIPING! So water went everywhere because they lost all of the pieces (except for one that they just shoved into the concrete NOT EVEN CONNECTED TO THE MAIN WATERLINE). After 5 phone calls we finally got ahold of someone to come back out and fix this. I have a child and a full time job and couldn't do laundry because no pride was taken in this job whatsoever. It's been nothing but issues. Then they agreed to take off 200$ because of the troubles, and sent me a completely different invoice than the initial one, trying to get more money out of me. Dealing with this company has been a complete nightmare!! If you are looking for a company that values you as a customer and is professional, this is not the company for you. We signed a contract in the fall for a small job we needed completed. After that we had to chase them down to do the work. When they finally showed up it was mid November and no one ever scheduled with us. We were not able to complete the job due to the lack of scheduling. Against better judgement we tried again this spring. This is when the customer service rose to a new level of terrible! Once again chasing people down for answers, to return calls and to give them our business. The people became rude, unhelpful and acted like their time was much more valuable than our own. We were told the original estimate would be honored and they may even be able to give us an even better deal due to our past experience. Then we were told we need another estimate and it may be higher then the fist... Needless to say, we have to take our business elsewhere. It is very time consuming, frustrating and disappointing to work with such an unprofessional company. Proceed with caution!!!! read more

I wish I would have read reviews before signing with J&D. I had blinders on; I tend to want to trust a company when I have a decent first impression. We had a very big job for our ranch home: over 130' and two sump pumps for a full interior perimeter french drain. We had a relatively good experience with the salesman, who basically made the company sound like God's gift to the tri-state. Truthfully, due to his friendly approach and emphasis on the company being christian, we signed right then and there. I didn't even bother get a second quote. This was a mistake. Communication leading up to the start of the job was actually good; however, once work started, I immediately realized we had made a $10k mistake. The workers (one J&D employee and a few sporadic, paid under-the-table kids) did not show up 3 of the 10 days (the job was to be finished in 6 days or fewer). The days they did show up, they did not arrive until 11am or later. I have a 6 page document outlining our entire experience. I presented my thoughts and experience in their entirety over the phone to the "Director of Waterproofing Services." He was incredibly unapologetic and even more unprofessional. I am simply disgusted. I regret making the investment altogether. I'd rather have water in my basement, and I wouldn't wish this stress on anyone. I rarely have a great experience with a contractor, but this experience was in a league of its own. This company is a scam. Everyone is related. Everyone covers up for one another. Poor management. Flying by the seat of their pants. My persistence is the ONLY reason the job was completed. My documentation is ammunition for court, and I am prepared to crush this company. read more

I cannot recommend J&D Waterproofing. They were recommended by Panhandle Restoration. The estimator was a very nice man who helped identify that I have tile block walls which means no footer. But the installation and followup have been horrible. The installers did not bring enough plastic to cover my items in the basement and it took two hours for someone to bring them more. Less than 48 hours after the job I found water pooled in a trouble area so I called. Was told they were very busy and could come out in two weeks. Still waiting for someone to show up. The office secretary hung up on me. Found the issue was the sink was not properly reinstalled and was leaking water when I used the washer. Probably will have to hire a plumber to fix the problem. I've ordered signs for my yard that recommends not hiring them. read more

House i came to close. N was told. Buy the worker he was the only doing all the work. That. They was gnna have everything done. The following day the. 26th so on my. Way to work i stopped by. To see the progress n. Found. The workers smoking weed in my garage. Not only. Tht. But was told it would take 3 days for the cement to dry. So they had. My stationary tub moved away from my basement wall with all the pipes. Off of it N. All they did was push it back up against the. Wall. With none of my pipes attacched. N all of them missing. N thats how it still sits today. Over a week i couldent wash cloths. N i have a 9month old. Son. Called n tlkd. To the sales manger to see when they was gnnna finish the job. N. I had the same experience as the initial reviewer. I set up an appointment for the end of August. The estimator they were going to send got sick, but no one bothered to notify me that they wanted to change the time. The guy who came said it would take a week to produce the estimate. Well it took 4 weeks and 5 phone calls to get the estimate. Several times I was told someone would call back, but they didn't. If that wasn't enough of a red flag, the estimate was reasonable and I told them I was willing to proceed. I asked them when they could start and they were supposed to call me back that afternoon. We someone did call me back, but it was 2 weeks later. They wanted to do the work at the end of October. I told them that was too late to dig up all the plants in front of the wall being replaced and replant them. I can't comment on the quality of their work since it took too long just to get an estimate. But it makes you wonder if they are this poor when it comes to getting your business, how they would respond if you had an actual problem after they completed the work. read more
