But this weekend we wanted to try a new place to eat and heard a rumor that the fish fry here was pretty good. The restaurant space is pretty spare, but hey, it's a bowling alley. The bar is big and you can eat at the bar. We sat at a table and ordered three fish fries and one shrimp fry. We had the breaded two piece Alaskan cod for 10.99. It includes choice of potato (including sweet potato fries), baked beans, coleslaw, and homemade corn fritters with honey butter. My dad liked his shrimp, but my review is only about the fish. Delicious! The cod was very lightly breaded with a seasoned batter and very lightly fried. Not greasy at all. Flaky fish, fantastic taste. Fritter has corn kernels baked in and were yummy with honey butter. (See photo) I feel like a damn fool for not discovering their fish fry earlier. Here's the bummer: fish fries are only served Sept-April and 4 or 5 pm til 8 pm. Now I have to get back to Baraboo before the end of April!

The atmosphere really makes this place stand out. It has a fun, retro vibe that's been well kept--a classic, cute bowling alley with a small arcade and a pool table. The service was very friendly and attentive, which added to the overall experience. All in all, it's a solid, family-friendly spot with good food, fair prices (for the area), and a nostalgic feel. For just $15, you can play as much as you'd like, with a wide variety of games from classics that are even older than me (if you can believe that) to things that are quite a bit newer. Games are mostly organized by type, so all of your racing games are together, shooters, etc., which is nice for the most part, but can make mounting and dismounting some of the racers a bit tricky or have you slightly closer to a stranger than you would prefer. Most games were in good repair, though a few were not so good, such as House of the Dead 4. Would have preferred a bit more in terms of snacks and beverages to allow me to stay longer and play a bit more, but I'll just prepare better next time!

He asked him his name and the bartender did not want to give it, looks like his name might be Eric from some of the other posts. Then he was insulting to my friend.
