I switched to J&J about 3 months ago, and have had no problems at all. Pickups happen on the days scheduled and all the trash in the can is emptied out. I have a neighbor who doesn't understand that the company won't pick up loads of boxes, bags, metal and wood that are stacked next to the can, but these rules seem pretty clear and simple to me. I called the office only one time to ask a question about billing, and the customer service rep was polite, professional and very helpful. Based on my experiences so far, I would grade them at an A level. read more

I was very disappointed with the service. I had yard waste service starting in April and my yard waste was never picked up this went on for months. I called 6 times and complained about the service because it wasn't being picked up I was told no refund back on any service. I had to dispute the charges on my CC I won the dispute . Absolutely horrible customer service. The receptionists interrupt you and always extremely rude. They never apologize if they make a mistake. They come at the random times it could be 5am and could be 4pm so you never know with them. They charge a fee for each box if it's not in the bin (which sometimes wind blows away). If you try to cancel in the beginning of the quarter you won't get your money back. So you pay for 3 months and they'll keep it even if you stop using their services. I have never been talked to like I did by the He was very ripped up the bags that I had yard in and then would not take them I called the office, spoke to a manager, Alexis, which ended up hanging up on me because I told her I was going to the Better Business Bureau and Consumer affairs. Switched from Apple Valley due to their inconsistency and lack of communication when they were going to pickup or not. We switched to WM first and after 2 months, never had 1 pickup and never even received our bins. Cancelled them and went with J&J. Same signed up online quick and easy. Had our bins out in 3 days. Pickup has been on time every time so far and they even send an email when the schedule shifts for weather or holidays. Could not be happier with the service. read more

J& J Trash could not pick up my trash due to work trucks not giving the truck enough room to pick up my trash so they drove away. After calling J & J I was told they would notify the driver to come back and pick up my trash. A half hour later, the trash truck came back and the driver blew his horn to let me know he had come. This company lacks in communication with it's customers. We cancelled services with them back on 01/24/2025 we were told that we would receive a refund. Here we are in August 2025 still no refund. I called 4 times to be told 2 times that a refund check was being mailed, 1time that I needed to speak with office manager who was on vacation and they would have her call me back (didn't happen) and finally today, (8/15/2025}, to be told they have a no refund policy. Like most of the other reviews, they never communicated their policies, holiday schedule or price increases. I didn't chose this company I was switched to them by our former company who went out of business. I have reported them to the BBB and I hope they will refund my 2 months as I refuse to do 2 months of service with them. read more

Don't recommend at all. Signed up in June of 2025, Issues in 3rd week already. Driver drives by trash can and won't pick up. Call J&J to tell them, they say they'll come back. They say they will come right back to get and don't. Email J&J to tell them and they advise can't come back till days later. Everyone would probably be best to avoid doing business with these guys. Their truck drivers are incredibly dangerous and careless. One of them crashed into my collector's car as I pulled off the road to let him pass and he proceeded to commit insurance fraud by lying to their insurance company. Of all the refuse companies I have had in the past 28 yrs, I have had to contact J and J more times than any other about billing questions, issues with obtaining a J and J sticker for a customer purchased bin from collectors trash service for which J and J took over the route from Collectors in 2023. They do however have a good record for picking up the trash, there has only been two times since December 2023 when the bin was not fully emptied . read more

Called August 2, 2024 to cancel my service since I was moving out and selling my house. Was told that I would get the full refund of $75 that I was charged on July 31st. 2.5 months later, get a check for $48.75. Called customer service and found out that the person I talked to in August lied, said I didn't call until August 9th, claimed I had a pick up on August 5th and that I should keep the trash can since it would cost $ to pick up. So I was charged for a trash pickup that never happened and a trash can pickup that never happened. Now they want their trash can back, which fine since I was charged for it but what scam artists. Lied to me and put incorrect information into their system to scam me more. Shit customer service and liars. I had a great trash company that forced me to switch to J&J and this is what happens when you cancel. Customer Beware. read more

I had trash service with them for many years. The rates kept increasing. When I finally decided to change companies, they told me there is a charge to wash the trash can when they pick it up. I never asked for the trash cans. They rolled it out many years ago as a courtesy. J&J trash also stopped my service 3 weeks early and never refunded the early stop. NEVER USE J&J!!! read more

The guys who man the trucks are very, very good. They don't leave trash that falls out of the bins laying around on your lawn. That is highly appreciated. My only complaint is with their computer program. I travel away for months at a time and have a problem with being charged a late fee for nonpayment or late payment when I have stopped the service. The office staff is quite nice about everything except that darn late fee. I have to complain about it multiple times to get it removed only to have it pop up again the next billing period. It is quite frustrating. I have had them for nearly 6 years and only had this problem for the last few years. If they fixed that one problem I would give them a +5 rating as everything else is super! read more

We moved into our home about 5 months ago and the HOA has blanket trash pick up Tuesday and Friday for everyone with J&J, as well as bulk trash on Fridays. There have been multiple times they have just left some of our trash, while taking similar items from neighbors. We had yard waste in a paper bag sit for two weeks, while they picked up paper yard waste bags from other neighbors. I finally put the paper bag in a big plastic bag to get them to take it. This is all not even to mention that there is trash everywhere around the neighborhood after they leave because they are not careful with it. We are fed up with J&J. I look forward to complaining at every HOA meeting until they are no longer our trash provider. We haven't even gone to an HOA meeting before, so thank you for giving me a reason. J&J is priced slightly better than their competition and usually dependable. I am slightly disappointed this month as two times within this month. My trashcan has been left half full. I will exceed the space within the next week and which the trash will be packed and most likely next week it will be half full again. I wish they would check and see that the can is empty. Will update this as I use them a bit more. I like that they provide a large trash can. I dislike that there is a fee to use a credit card when that is typically the easiest to ensure on time payments. There $5.00 fee is about twice what they should get charged for processing a credit card and that isn't fair. If they ARE charged that much, then they need to look at a better service to handle payment. read more

This company is real trash. I decided to switch service for two reasons. One, they charge extra for any bags that don't fit in the can. Two, we often wouldn't get a payment reminder in the mail and without notifying us they just didn't pick up the trash. I obviously set up auto-pay after that, but to not pick up trash and not be notified that service is canceled can put you in a real bind. Trash sitting in your can for two weeks?! After we cancelled service I told them over the phone that I'm happy to hand over the trash can and to just let me know when they're coming so I can have it ready. Without notifying us, an employee came on to my property and took the wrong trash can (my father had given me an old one he wasn't using. It just happened to be the same color as J&J. I had their trash can sitting to the side in my barn). No worries, I'll just use the one they should have taken. Nope, a driver saw that can and took it off the street at least two months after service with then was cancelled! To not have the decency to give someone the benefit of the doubt and treat them with this much distrust doesn't make me feel valued as a customer. I switched to 777 Sanitation, I suggest you do the same. They're cheaper, don't charge for extra bags and they didn't charge me a rental fee for their trash can when they heard of my ordeal. read more

J&J Inc has been our trash collector since we moved into Parkridge Dr in August of 2010. The garbage is ALWAYS picked up on Wednesday's rain or shine. If we have a bulk item, it is easy to arrange for pickup and payment with them. Week 5... still no trash can. I have called twice a week for 5 weeks to get a trash can delivered. Every week they tell me the same thing. You are on the list to get one delivered, yet it never arrives. I can understand maybe two weeks, but 5? I think maybe I'm angry because they continue to lie to me about the delivery. Unfortunately, I'm not dealing directly with them. This is part of a HOA service provided to me by Clagett Real Estate. So this is something I need to take up through my HOA... and then possibly I will get results. Also, I was told I could leave the trash out on Monday's (this is pick up day), and they would get it even if I didn't have a trash can. This too... a lie. Nothing beats coming home to hot garbage that has been sitting out in the sun all day. Disgusting. I just wanted to give a heads up on the type of service to look forward to. Worst trash service I've used , they decide what trash they want to take on pick up day . Some days they pick it up and some days they leave it in the can . They tell you trash needs to be in plastic trash bags in the trash cans causing more trash in our landfills . It takes 10-20 years for a plastic bag to decompose. Since we have used this company their service has declined over the yeasrs. Having picked up twice a week to start, they now only pick up once a week at the same price. Now in the past few weeks they don't show up at all. When I call them, they ask to just put it all out the following week. When I tell them the can is full, they ask to just put it out and the driver will pick up...which he will not. When you tell them you want a credit for missed pick up, then they get nasty with you.
