When I went in I was greeted by the friendly staff, and immediately accommodated. They saw my design request and clearly it had them in a pickle. Quite advanced and I assured them they could have creative liberty and simplify it if necessary. Little to my knowledge I would have two lovely ladies actively watching videos, constantly repeating things if they weren't up to par, and spending countless hours making this design perfect. I hired them for my wedding and lets start with the fact that they'll do a trial with you before signing a contract and putting down a deposit; something that's becoming increasingly rare all of a sudden. The trial turned out amazingly!!! I felt like the prettiest version of myself possible! And the best part was, after a couple of minor tweaks, it was even better on the actual day! I hired them to do hair and makeup for me, my mother, and my 4 bridesmaids and every single one of them felt the same way. The stylists were super professional, so sweet, and so careful to make sure we were getting what we wanted and were pleased with the results! Every single one of my girls said how happy they were with how they looked and felt and how good a job these guys did. We all have different facial structures and coloring and hair textures and lengths and they did such an amazing job with everyone. Not to mention how well it all stayed!!! We started hair and makeup at 9AM and the day wasn't over until almost 10:30 PM. Every single one of us looked as fresh at the end of the night as we did when they first finished. And that's despite wind, girls diving under the wedding dress skirt (these things are intense to get into/out of), vigorous dancing, etc. No one had to touch up fly aways, or add in pins later or wipe off sagging eye liner--nothing. (And I at least always have issues with makeup staying on well. Not a single issue this time!) I don't know what they did, or how they did it, but these women are magic. Go to them. Seriously, you will be the absolute 100% opposite of disappointed. Definitely my favorite vendor out of the entire wedding. At some point I'm finding an excuse to go back to them just so I can feel that pretty again.

Then 3 hours later, I get an email stating my appointment has been rescheduled for same day at 11 am. I tried to call the salon to figure out why the change occurred, and there was no answer. The voicemail said a text was better and you'd receive a quicker response, so I did that. But, no response. A little while later, I tried calling again and there was still no answer, so I left a voicemail this time and followed up on my text message. Still no response. I even called a third time, but to no avail. I figured I would still show up to my appointment at the originally scheduled 1:30 time, since they're open 9-5. When I arrived, the door was locked and no one was inside. I called again but obviously no one answered the phone. I even checked all social media platforms to see if possibly they closed for personal reasons or anything stating why no one was answering my call and no one was in the salon. Needless to say, there was no information provided on what was going on. I gave her multiple chances because her work is fast and lasts, but there's been a clear pattern of disrespect when it comes to honoring this request. At first it was just eye rolls or sighs, but at my most recent visit on 8/23/25 (12:15-1:40pm), she went too far. When I asked for shorter nails again, Lava told me "I slap you" while motioning her hand like a slap towards me -- with another employee standing nearby observing the service. They both laughed, but I did not. I defended myself and reminded her this is a paid service, not free, and I should not be made to feel like asking for shorter nails is a problem. She then tried to change the subject by pointing out her haircut, which she had requested short at the salon she went to. I explained this was exactly my point: as clients, we pay for what we want, and our preferences should be respected. Her response was simply, "I like long nails, I tell my customers long, long, long." The nail work may last, but professionalism and respect are just as important. It's unfortunate, because she is skilled and the nails did last a month on me -- but the lack of professionalism outweighs the quality. For that reason, I won't be returning.
