Having been to Vietnam recently, we wanted to try out this place for a comparison. Their menu offerings were very similar to what we had in Vietnam. Everything we've ordered came out well prepared. Portion size were large as well, and pricing was competitive. Interior dining area resembles that of a no-frills dining with plenty of seating. First time here. I ordered the special pho which has a bunch of meet. I feel that their broth is authentic because of the grease on the soup. It's tasty but a bit on the greasy side, but that's just my preference. It will require too much work to make it less greasy but still tasty. They used a thiner noodles but they didn't get too soft so it was OK. Soup was nice and hot. My wife ordered her typical grilled pork Bahn Mi. She liked it too. She said it was on of the better ones. The place wS comfortable and clean. They have some outdoor tables too. The host was friendly. He sat down and had a nice chat with us as if we've been friends for a while. Food was ok. Not the best I've had but could have been worse. Attendant (can't classify as waiter - come you'll see why) was very direct. We sat down and we were greeted with, "you good with water?" Stank of cigarette smoke to the point that I'm assuming they have a mini smoke tent out back they huddle in all day. Pho was average although the grilled shrimp in the pho was really good. Pad thai wasn't a strong point for them but edible. Would love to rate the egg rolls we ordered but still haven't gotten them and I've given up hope. I assumed they weren't going to come when we ordered them because the look of disgust and sheer disappointment that they would have to cook them was apparent. Probably for the better. I wish that I could write this review and say that my experience was horrible because of terrible service or terrible food, but honestly I didn't have the opportunity to really experience either. I went to this restaurant on 2/28/26. I had read reviews and been passing by daily for almost 2 months. When I got inside it looked super cute and the staff was friendly enough. After getting a cup of water and placing my order, I waited. Scrolling on my phone and laughing at Tik Tok videos. I was very excited to try their oxtail pho. I never got to try it because I was not waiting alone. Unknown to me, there were several roaches crawling on and around my table. When I became aware, I was startled and immediately moved from my seat. I tried very discreetly to inform the staff but due to their responses and questions as to why I was leaving, I had to announce louder than I wished what was happening at my table. Never once did they apologize, offer to go look or do anything that might have smoothed over this very uncomfortable situation. They shrugged and looked at me as if I were wrong for saying I could not eat there. I am not clueless and know that maybe food establishments have critters, but to have them blatantly crawling where I am sitting waiting for food is too much. Pest control is a thing. Even if management had been even remotely concerned with me advising them, I could have just chalked it up. Unfortunately, it seemed familiar to them and that is not familiar to me. read more

Great place. Pho has more star anise than my other place. But it was tasty just different. The spring rolls were crispy and delicious. But there are only two and I feel that is a little pricey for only two and no dipping sauce. The pho had a nice selection of meats and the condiment plate was chock full of basil bean sprouts lime and sliced jalapeños. There was plenty of condiments on the table as well for spicing the soup up. I would like to see some chili sauce, but there was sriracha. All in all a good lunch. read more

Outstanding personalized service! Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and was extremely helpful. The pho broth was perfect! It was clear, aromatic flavorful, and steaming hot. It has the right amount of savory and sweet. Also ordered the grilled chicken hoagie aka bahn mi. Okay, the bahn mi was just so good! I was so delighted to see the perfectly toasted Vietnamese French bread. Oh my my my! Reminded me Bahn Mi DC in Annandale. The filling had the picked radish and carrots, cilantro, creamy Mayo, and liver pate. There are a number of other items that looked very tasty and worth coming back for to try. My husband and I were in town visiting his family and were recommended J&J's. After leaving Texas we have not been able to find a decent Pho spot. Not only was the service amazing but the Pho cured our souls. The owner was very attentive and the place was very clean. We wish this place was closer to us so we could enjoy it weekly. I have been enjoying the food here for 4 years now but the last 2 times I did not get the extra side of meat o paid for. The first time it was a delivery order so I chalked it up as a forgotten item placed in the bag. Last night I ordered rare steak pho and added a side of flank steak. Upon pick up i check my bag and no extra side of flank steak. I notify the staff. The gentleman says he put them both in the bowl. I ask him how much a portion of beef weighs. He first says 4 oz. I state well if I order an extra side then I should have 8oz correct? He says yes. I then state we'll this is not even 3 oz of meat. For reference I'm am a chef by trade of 30 years. He chuckles and said I guess this time I give you a little more. I said no I just want what I paid for. He takes the food in the back and separates the meat into two smaller piles and comes back. I called him out and asked him to get his scale. I got to my car and get my scale and calibration weights out of my work bag. I then calibrate both scales and weigh the meat, in total it is 2.5 oz. He chuckles again knowing he was caught. Then continues to think I'm stupid or slow and say I can't add. I then say to him not only did I not get the extra side I paid for I didn't get the full portion that goes in the dish. He then spends another 10 mins trying to convince me I'm wrong. I finally said just refund me for the extra side. He did after much back and forth. They lost a loyal customer and it's sad as the food is good but I won't spend my money at a restaurant that cheats it's customers. read more

Really delicious hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant. Me and my boyfriend frequent Vietnamese restaurants and this place really stood out to us . Their charbroiled pork was delicious and the perfect texture. We did not get to try the pho but we will definitely be back to try it soon. read more

We recently moved to elkton and was thrilled to find a Vietnamese restaurant nearby. Their service is great and pho is amazing! I have tried several entrees and pho seems to be the beat. I also think their cold vermicelli noodles is delicious. I thought the Vietnamese pancakes were okay, but I have never had it so I don't have anything to compare it to for a better sense of how it might have been better. I also tried their crawfish boil. The amount was great, but it doesn't seem like crawfish, sausage, corn, and potatoes were actually boiled with seasonings, instead it seems to be boiled and then tossed in seasonings. Even though I ordered spicy, it wasn't spicy at all. Seasoning was tasty but lacked depth. I think overall, If you stick to the traditional Vietnamese menu, you will find some delicious meals here. We have been here twice now, and both times the food was really delicious. First visit was with 4 of us, and we each ordered different items (pho, broken rice, a noodle, dish, and one more), and on our 2nd visit, it was just 2 of us, but we tried their papaya salad, cheesesteak roll, and a couple of the entrees). Everything tasted fresh & flavorful. The food is what draws us back to them. The service is also good. There's a young man who has been our server and he takes care of us with a little prompting. We are not regulars in the Elkton area, but over the past few months we've been here twice for dinner. And if we are in Elkton again, this is a really solid option for dinner. read more

The food was decent. Ive been to pretty all of the pho places in middle to northern delaware and many in philly. The portions are about average. When we went, the place did reek of bleach but i wont hold it againt them for keeping it clean. That said, it did detract from the experience. The cleaning mop and cart was left out until i complained about the bleach odor at which time they put it away. Aside from that, it seems that they are a bit slower to deliver food than what i typically get from a pho restaurant. J&J Pho! I am over the moon to be able to get Pho nearby. The chicken pho is so good we don't care that we throw out the terribly dry chicken meat and inedible chicken meatballs. It's that perfect. We gave this place a try as we like exploring new cuisine's and food of different cultures. The Decour was gorgeous and very bright and beautiful inside. Being that they are new, their waitress could use a little work on her service skills but was very nice and friendly. Now onto the food. I ordered some kind of neef and while most of the food in the dish was tasty, the pork seem to be a low-grade beef with lots and lots of gristle that was on edible to me. That kind of ruins the whole dish when I crunched down on that. I'd be willing to give it another try and order something different As I never let one experience complete my judgment. I was really excited to have not one, but two Vietenemse restaurants in Cecil County. This place is located right next to the Walmart in North East. My only measuring stick was Nam Phoung in South Philly. So how did it compare? I thought the food was just as good, if not better to Nam Phoung! The spring rolls and papaya salad for starters were out of this world. The Pho was very good and the pork/shrimp vermicelli (no 31) was also excellent!
