My backyard fence was damaged in 2 spots after the removal of a tree. I was only made aware of one spot (probably because I caught the guy trying to patch it) but only saw the second one the next day. A lot of debris was also not removed. Late on a Sunday night on a holiday weekend a huge oak fell all the way down my driveway, effectively blocking me and my AirBnB guest from leaving. I immediately looked for a tree service and noticed J&J accepted calls 24/7. Mike answered at midnight and offered to come right away. Not wanting to wake up the neighborhood or for his crew to work in the dark we arranged for first thing in the morning. They were done in an hour and because of Mike's professionalism and reasonable price I asked for an estimate to remove several dead trees. He identified a rotted base on another oak that, had it come down would have taken out the power, the fence and sunroom. He brought in an enormous crane to lift it over power lines. Charge was very reasonable for the time, equipment, professionalism and hard work. The crew was responsive, friendly and they left the yard in good shape. Made an appointment for a tree-trimming estimate. Confirmed the time with them 2 days before. They never showed up, never contacted us by phone, email or text, and did not respond to our email or phone calls (got a machine and left a message). Wasted a day off waiting. They showed up on time, removed two huge leaning pine trees and took the time to answer every single question my four year old son had. Very disappointed took the day off from work to get several trees removed. Called them after they were an hour and a half late, Mike informed me that their chipper broke and they were not coming. Asked if they had planned on calling and was told he was just going to an hour and a half after he was suppose to be here. I was told that as soon as the chipper was repaired they would let me know and that they would come on a Saturday, so I didn't have to take another day off. Didn't hear from them for over a month so I hired someone else. Coincindentally they called the same day I made arrangements with someone else. Mike left a message stating they had not heard from me. Theses guys are great. We had a willow fall across the road a couple of months back. The town cleaned up most of it, but we were left with a huge stump lying in the front yard. We got a lot of estimates and J&J were the cheapest by far. They gave us a date and showed up nearly two weeks early because they had a sudden cancellation! We were surprised and very grateful. The removal was fast and efficient, and we could barely tell they'd had a very heavy truck on the lawn. They then came back on or scheduled day and filed the hole with dirt. That same day they ground a stump for our neighbor so quickly we didn't realize it until they left. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone needing tree work. read more
