This is supposed to be the Big Kahuna out of the Davenport family green markets/farms located in Stone Ridge. Yes it's much bigger, yes it has organic items in a supermarkety feel, yes it houses a weekly Flea Market, has hot foods and of course, fresh produce. The produce here is smaller in quantity than what I'm used to and costs a bit more than my fave spot in Westchester Cty. Call me crazy, I've been trying to find a duplicate greenhouse/fresh market in my neck of the woods and surrounding areas similar to what I've grown to love while living in Westchester County. But I haven't. It's not them, It's me. I like to discover new items I might not otherwise find elsewhere- but I love more shopping for all my produce under one roof. Service is great. In the last year we've had our home, we just let our landscaper know our mission and he'll tackle it with the type of look we want. But this time, hubs and I visited and decided to personally select( 2) 5-6' pine trees on our own so he can go ahead and plant. Penny is one of the head honchos here and knows a thing or two about plants and trees especially when I asked about certain types of plants that would deter bees- since I was stung the summer of '22 and left me traumatized. The service is personable AND they offer Veteran discounts. They're pricy for sure- but if you're willing to pay the price to add a stunning look to your garden, a visit here is essential.

Petalos, on Fair St. in Kingston, hit that nail on the head! I met the man behind Petalos- who's bringing a whimsical and cozy oasis to the space. Brian's love of flowers is on full display throughout his shop. Whether my visit on an early Saturday morning was spontaneous or not, the succulents, house plants, pots, gardening items and loose bloom selections here are almost endless. The several stems I selected to create my own arrangement at home all varied in prices from $3-$5 He'd mentioned the names of my individual cuttings- but their names escaped me. I was here for one thing only and Brian made my day. My stems were gathered in a bouquet, wrapped in heavy duty brown paper, lined in green tissue paper and tied elegantly with a navy blue ribbon (with attached care notes).
