I learned what to look for in a roofing company and what constituted a good job by a roofer. Armed with a base of knowledge, I evaluated eight different roofing companies. I read a ton of reviews from various web site such as yelp, google, Angie's List, the BBB, and HomeAdvisor and I scoured information on their individual web sites. Of these eight, I had five roofing companies provide me with estimates. Most of them visited my home and just provided me with a sheet of paper outlining the work they'd do and the cost. Some provided a detailed breakout of the materials they'd use and the total cost but no details. James Pruett, with Secure Roofing, was very detailed with me from the very first phone call. He was very professional, obviously very knowledgeable and just plain nice. He was also the only one that discussed his quote with me in detail and in person and provided examples of the material he would use with options. He even showed my his license and insurance. He explained the materials, options and the work he'd do in detail. No other company did any of this. Furthermore, the quality of the materials he offered and used on my roof were superior to most others (Certainteed) and his was the best price! James' team showed up at 7:09 AM and they had my entire roof stripped in two hours flat! My new roof, with new & extended ridge vents, was fully installed by 4:30 PM...on a very windy day! He sent me pictures throughout the process while I was at work, showing me that they were using the proper number of nails per shingle and installing things correctly. They left my property spotless...no nails, shingle bits or anything left in my yard. He called me to let me know they were done and waited until I got home to explain what all they had done and answer any questions I had. Communication was a bit frustrating at times as the time table kept changing and we were running up against another round of multi-day rain chances, but it all got fixed in the end. The team came to replace the day after I got a call from the owner. I spoke to a gentleman and I got all the info. They came early in the morning and finished before noon. I didn't count how many people. The supervisor constantly ensuring the safety of his crew and clearing up the area where debris fell. It's rare to receive call from the owner of business.
