J & M Aluminum added a screen room to my home in 2017 & I failed to check BBB or read reviews. I was relocating from another state and someone else found this awful company ! After installation, it did not rain for a week or more. With the first rainfall, this new installation had roof leaks in 10 to 12 locations. J & M sent repairmen out at least 8 times. Each time one leak would be sealed, and a new location would leak. The last time J & M sent someone out March, 2019. I still have leaks ! I was told the warranty is 2 years and they will do NOTHING! Horrible Horrible company. They may have been good 20 years ago but not anymore. Do not waste your money. They are quick to take it and their workmanship is terrible. And they were not cheap. They also lie, lie lie and make so many excuses. They also don't seem to have any reliable employee work there and that is not a surprise. I had two porch covers installed and they both leaked from day 1. Within the last 4 months, it has been a constant battle to have them send someone to fix them and i have to chase them like i'm a collection agency. They send the same guy who has been unable to fix it after 3 attempts. They are unprofessional, shoddy workmanship, poor roof design, the roof/aluminum panels are all dirty, bloody, bent and scratched (a result of them putting them up) like they have been there years instead of being brand new, they broke an irrigation line during install, damaged my landscape shelling, and one of the installers peed along the corner wall of my house!! Overall, it has been a horrible experience. Save your money and go elsewhere. I do have pictures and videos but I think this review is enough. Horrible customer service. Made 18 phone calls and still no definitive answer on when they will build my lanai. Do not use this company. My money is being held hostage. I was told 4-6 months and am currently at 10 months with no end in site. Chris and the women that answer the phone are all horrible with time estimation. They constantly lie and tell you "soon" "soon" but it's ALL JUST TALK - This company is terrible - Do Not EVER use them - look at their customer ratings - Go somewhere else. Mixed feelings, but mostly a difficult experience. Positive: Sales person came out to the house and was personable and easy to work with. The installation work itself was excellent and they were conscientious. Negative: The estimated time frame of 8-10 weeks turned into 18 weeks. After no communication from them, I called at 12 weeks and 17 weeks. Both times, they didn't follow through with what they told me. They've got a problem with customer service, communication, and time frame estimation. Also, there are lines on the product from a black permanent marker where the metal was marked for bending to the correct angle. So overall, not a good experience, and I won't be doing business with them again. read more

This please has a no care about customers. I went in to order some flashing. I get yelled at by a guy sitting behind a computer screen on the other side of the store named Chris. I went to him and told him what I needed and he said he could do it. He then asked a guy across the way name John how much and how long it would take. Standing next to Chris and Chi's just yelled out 10 days I said ok that won't work and ready to leave then Chris says no should have Friday. I went and paid John he charged my card and gave me my receipt. I asked John what time Friday would work for me to pick up. He then told me to go talk to Chris so I was walking over to Chris then John comes out with some smart comments. " Chis I now we have mental mental telepathy and are neurons are matching so you must have the answer to all this information. I looked at John and said you don't have to be a smart-ass I don't know would be a good time to come pick it up he started laughing I said that's okay just refund me my money and I'll go elsewhere he laughed when I gave him my credit card he refunded my money didn't apologize didn't say anything the worst experience I've ever had with customer service ever. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy and John should not have a job working with the public and Chris neither. read more

Folks be aware the owner Mike is a liar!! #1 he said we offered his employees vodka at 8:30 in the morning, that's hard to do when they never showed up showed up until 9:30 - 10:00.#2 my husband was never drunk everyday by 9 am(health issues).#3 he said it was our roof leaking not the carport ( a 3rd party verified it was the carport).#4 the carport had not passed inspection, thats why I refused to pay him thebalance. ( tried to say I didnt have money).Should have known the first day they showed up we were going to have an issue, claimed measurements were messed up. It was all downhill from there, they refuse to send anybody to fix the problem now. So they got their money and disappeared. And by the way Mike you have no clue. It has been 2 months and I have been waiting for pricing. The lady who came and measured said I would have my estimate the next day. My wife and I went to their store the following week and the man that waited on me there said that I would have something within 48 hours. After a couple of weeks I called and talked to Mike the owner, he said someone would get in touch with me and this would be taking care of . It's been 3 weeks and I still have not got what I need ed. I really wanted to work with these people because my neighbor Liked them a lot, but I see no reason to work with them if they won't even get back to me. read more

Purchased my custom measured 4' screen slider door for my 8' slider. Very well made. Chris took measurements, ordered my door and had it in store ready for pick up in 2 days. Brought the door home, fit perfectly and the wheels are easily adjustable with a Phillips head screwdriver. Priced very reasonable! read more

I stopped by 10 days ago to inquire about railings for my outdoor steps, talked to Christoper and he said they could manufacture the railings that I could install, which sounded perfect. He promised to have someone call me that same day, here is it 10 days later and even though I have called back 4 times Christopher is always busy and I haven't received a call back. J&M Aluminum just finished installing gutters along the front of my house, they did a nice neat job.

Refuse to provide a 5 year warranty as was agreed to. Did not install correctly and within days the awning leaks. So, I stopped payment on the remaining balance. That got their attention. Now they are threatening to call the cops and put a lean on our home. Fix the work and give the warranty that was promised and you'll get you money. read more

I was looking for an aluminum place that sells whole sale because I was building a screen enclosed patio in my yard. I walked in and was looking around for a good 10-15 minutes and no one greeted me or asked if I needed help. As you walk in there is a bar/desk type of room to the right and there seemed to be someone in there but they were too busy to acknowledge I was there. After doing IN-STORE and ON-SITE-INSTALLS business with J & M Aluminum for a few years and they NEVER got it right the first time, this last attempt to replace rain gutters will be the last business I do with them. I set up an estimate to replace rain gutters on Friday and was told the estimator would contact me the following Monday after I gave them NAME, ADDRESS and PHONE NUMBER. After NOT hearing from them by Tuesday morning I called to see when they would show up. I talked to the estimator on the phone who insinuated I never talked to anyone in that office because SHE never heard of me. Rather than moving past that and doing some business, SHE wanted to argue the issue at which time I ended the phone call. BEWARE and look at all the reviews, they have a 2 star rating. read more

I went in to view storm doors and I order a stock screen door on 4/28. 4-weeks later they still did not have it in stock and I cancelled. I was also priced at least $150 more than a similar door at Lowes and Home Depot. By the time my order arrived I had already had my door installed by Lowes a week earlier. When I cancelled, they said they would refund my $200 deposit when they sold the one I had ordered. I went by yesterday (6 weeks later) and no one knew where the door was (which means there was NO possibility that they ever tried to sell it). Multiple people could have bought that door (and ordered it) because they have no inventory control. So, it may take a lifetime, but I plan on following up at least once a month (40 mi round trip) until I get my refund. They have no idea what's going on...as they keep their records by "salesman". read more

These guys came recommended by my roofing company, which makes me worry about my roof. I took 3 bids for a screen room addition to my home. They came in lowest. After they had the job and came to do more extensive measuring, they told me I needed to have the roof altered which added $900 to the price of the job. No longer the lowest. The roof leaks and has probably from the beginning. They have come out a number of times to "fix" it but it still leaks. They are now claiming that my "warranty" has run out. I filed a report with the BBB but they refuse to honor their work. I am exploring the options of taking them to court. It was a $10K project which is a lot of money to me. I first notified them of the problem about 9 months after the install. The leaks are near the end of the roof and goes across horizontally. I suspect, but have no way to know or prove, that the roof was not pitched correctly and water is pooling there. Do not use these folks. read more

At the end of October 2017, I met with Chris at J&M Aluminum and explained that I had installed 3 accordion window shutters that a neighbor had given me. I wished to get 3 more for other windows with the same height. Based on J&M's showroom display sample, Chris DeCosmo instructed me on obtaining the needed measurements. I provided height measurements as instructed, based on J&M's flangeless display unit per Chris' instructions. Upon delivery, the top and bottom rails were acceptable, however, the accordion shutters were all 2 inches shorter than requested. Months later, I learned that different manufacturers have different height measurements for the top and bottom attachment to the walls (flanges). Reasonably, the showroom display model did not have flanges, as only the dealer would determine the supplier's flanges. Through July 23, 2018, after numerous periodic meetings with Chris, I received a second "lecture" on measuring - which was the same as the first. President Gary DeCosmo delivered the same short shutters on July 24, 2018. Chris had been blaming the manufacturer all year. Gary DeCosmo contends (in writing) that I did not ever received measurement guidance from Chris, and verbally told me their showroom display is not to be relied upon. MYSTERY SOLVED: Recently, in writing, Gary DeCosmo stated that there are two different measurements for guiding the manufacturer: "DLO" (excludes flange height) and "Finish Size" (includes flange height.) Chris DeCosmo had erroneously indicated "Finish Sizes" on the order form, in spite of knowing that he instructed me based on his showroom display without flanges. I had never before heard the term "DLO." How would I know the allowance for "flanges" when the dealer chooses the supplier? Why did Chris indicate "finish sizes?" This was a $4,100 expenditure. read more

I have been waiting to post this review. How this company stays in Business I have no idea. They took my order 3/22/2016 and Mary Beth said they would start the work in 3 to 4 weeks and I said great because I was heading back north in about 6 weeks and she said ok no problem. today is 4/26/2016 and they called me at 1:00PM today and said that the crew was heading over to my place to do the work. I was about 45 minutes away. Wouldn't you think that they would have called in the morning to let me know what time to expect them? The workers were great and did an excellent job. A called called Chris was sitting behind his dest stuffing down a hot dog when I went there to pick up some spline that the workers needed and he went some where and came back in about 10 minutes and said I have two sizes and dropped them on the counter and walk off some place. I called Mary Beth 3 times today to see when they were going to start the job and she never called me back. Basically I am telling you all stay away from this company they are not honest and once they take your order you have to chase them to get the work done. Designer MaryBeth is great! If they ever lose her they fail. They pull the permits for the project, BUT, worker men are careless with their trash. There was small aluminum pieces and screws left around the work area. We believe any company should clean after themselves, when paying half down & balance due the day they complete the job. They were ringing the phone wanting payment ASAP after we waited weeks for them to start the job, because they are short staffed. Now the roof is leaking & we question if we want to call them for repair, or will they make it worse. We should have waited for the inspector's sign off to give them final payment. BE WARE OF THESE ISSUES. I would look at other aluminum companies before signing. read more

I am having the same problem everyone else has had. The contract was signed 4_19-17. Contract to be started within 4-5 weeks. We are still waiting. Called this am was told they would be here today. Re called at 1:00 to get an approximate time was told by Chris they are not coming today maybe tomorrow. We have already paid them for 1/2 the job so they have us. I have used them several times in the past never had a problem but will not use them again. The staff are rude and condescending read more
