I took my car in for a battery thsy had in stock and they told me they could replace it. They installed the wrong battery, then the right battery backwards, destroying the inverter. They took responsibility, but a year later, they have not paid for the repair. I will update this review if that changes, read more

Absolutely the WORST place to go if you need ANYTHING for your vehicle. Our battery died that we had purchased from them in December 2016. I called to see about the warranty and the pro-rated price of a new battery. After looking up my account, the guy tells me it's still under 100% warranty and I'm they would replace it completely free of charge. I was shocked but very happy to hear that. So I jump started the car and drove it there for the replacement. How these people stay in business, I have no idea. There are literally 10 employees all standing around doing nothing, one register open and customers piling up. Not ONE of them can bother to take another customer. They know not to look you in the eye too. The one register had a man buying windshield wipers. Finally, I get one guy's attention. I tell him I just called about the battery replacement. He grumbles under his mask and comes back with a battery tester. I unlatch the hood and he opens the hood and stands there holding it. Oh, I get it. I am supposed to hold the hood while you secure it with the rod. OMG. Tested the battery and he says it's bad. No kidding. That's why I am here. Back inside. Man is STILL buying the windshield wipers! How SLOW can these lazy employees get? My guy spends the next 20 minutes trying to figure out how to do a battery exchange. He says it's probably not going to be free. I said your coworker told me it was. He says "Do you know his name?" I said, "I didn't catch his name but here's a record of my call" and show him the phone. "Well I wasn't working at that time (30 minutes ago), so I don't know who you spoke with. I need a name." "Why don't YOU figure out who WAS working at that time and ask around!?!" He stares at me and bangs on the keyboard again to no avail. Finally he calls over the manager who is STILL completing the sale of the windshield wipers! Another 10 minutes go by. More customers enter the store and there's a line of 8 people in back of me. I overhear the manager tell windshield wiper guy, "It's gonna be a few minutes" (seriously?) and comes over to help with my situation. He does some keyboard magic and states, "The battery is pro-rated and a replacement will be $35". A new battery is $169.99 so that works for me. Then my guy says, "no that's the discount off a new battery". The manager looks puzzled and finally says that's correct. A new battery will be $169.99 minus $35. I am fuming. "Your employee told me on the phone it was a free replacement!" The manager shrugs his shoulders and walks away. My guy says, "So you want me to ring it up?" "NO! I don't want you to ring it up! One employee got it wrong, then the manager got it wrong! He didn't even investigate WHO gave me misleading information over the phone! I'll take my business to Costco, where the batteries are HALF this price and last longer!" As I stormed out, the manger was STILL trying to get the sale completed for the windshield wipers! It was 30 minutes ago! I will NEVER set foot in that store again. It's run by LAZY, incompetent people. read more

I'm prepping my car for the Winter. I hate the long lines and didn't want to risk things going out of stock so I figured this was the perfect time to have my wipers changed. I walked in and made my usual request, cheapest wipers. Why would I want the cheapest wipers? Well I have a tendency to not clean the ice off my car so I go through multiple wipers each year. My sales associate points out there's a rebate for $15 which mean I get one wiper for free. I figured cool! As he proceeds to check me out he tells me I have to buy another item to qualify for the special. My saving drops to $8. Erg I hate mail in rebates but I figure ok what the heck. I have buyers remorse now because I spent $55 on wipers. Overall a decent experience but next time I go in for wipers I'll stick to the "the cheapest wipers please". I won't make an effort to stop by but if in the plaza I'll grab wipers here. Service wasn't anything special. read more

I stopped in a few weeks ago. They tested my battery for me and even installed the new one. What a tremendous help that was for me. The young man that helped me was very nice. I would recommend to stop here if you need any minor auto help with batteries, lights, oil products etc. read more

I am not one to fawn over corporate monstrosities. The auto part business is one example of a locally owned store not being able to have enough efficiency to even compete. I would use a local mechanic, but I do my own work. The only real options are between the couple big box suppliers, and online. At least here they employ local people. The reason I am reviewing this, is because I have been to all of em. The service at this location struck me. Over the last 20 years, I have had good encounters with the staff and store at every turn. Including in the 90s when I had 5,000 watts of amplifier running off of a stock "duralast gold" alternator. Lifetime warrantee lol. I went thru 7 in 15 months, and they replaced it every time, with the manager only calling me on it once. Back to the present, I was in there 3 times this week. The employees were very polite, helpful, and knowlegable. This would seem to be a given, but look around. Not anymore. I was impressed enough to think about how I wish all places treated you like this still. Too many drooling zombies who hate their jobs across the corporate wasteland. Autozone itself? Good products, cheap, and a very nice selection. The mid range priced stuff lasts and works, and even the cheaper stuff will make do. read more

A Southington Autozone employee (I didn't get his name) stopped by in his white van at the roadside on 7/13/2014 to help me and my family on I-84 when we were 400+ miles from home. He tried to help me diagnose the problem with my automobile and then found a Firestone service station open on Sunday afternoon a mile away. Because of his help we were able to get our wheel repaired (loose lug nuts from a recent Honda dealer brake job) and back on the road for home. Thanks again to this good Samaritan. read more
