Please please please do not get any of your event or wedding rentals from this business! For the day of my wedding I had ordered five heaters, the heaters were unmatching (Some were brown, some were silver, and they had different styles, they were not the same) dented and scratched, and two of them did not work. They were very unpleasant looking and cheap, I tried my best to it make my wedding nice and these heaters we're not up to my expectations. The person who dropped them off even admitted to us that two of them were faulty And we're extremely difficult to turn on. My brother and my Wedding Planner spent 30 minutes trying to turn them on. Once I looked outside and saw how ugly they looked I called them About how satisfied I was and I even sent them an email. I still haven't heard of them and it's been two weeks since my wedding! They charged me $380 and the service and the quality of their material it's truly unsafe, they willingly rented us broken Propane powered heaters which is extremely dangerous! I spoke to the man who came to pick up the heaters next day, and I told him to have Diana give me a call or the owner of the business. And still nothing. Once I have photos of my wedding I will post them. I never write bad reviews, but this is extremely wrong of this business please do not order from here. RUINNED THANKSGIVING I had 20 people up to Big Bear from thanksgiving. We NEEDED a tent/canopy so that we could seat everybody together at one big table. Well when we arrived to the proptery- Adrian Gonzales had the tent delivered to THE WRONG PROPERTY. we looked for it and looked for it and couldn't find it until we found it in the neighbors yard! It started to snow and we were NOT going to have thanksgiving without the tent. It was super heavy with big steel posts. ADRIAN said he'd rather refund my money than come back up and move it. Well, he did not come back up and I had to ask my GUESTS to bundle up and move the tent. AND ADRIAN DID NOT REFUND MY MONEY. So upset. Plus it was a janky tent with rips and holes. Initially, was pleased with the availability of quick pricing and confirmation for the date I needed. J&M asked if they could come the day before the party to set everything up, it was jumpers, water slide, tables & chairs and the large party tent. The two guys they sent to set up took all day long to do a 2 hour job. They did not even know that I paid to have the tables and chairs set up, so they left without doing that part. They did return after complaints. J&M did NOT supply any power to run the jumpers or waterslide, nor water hoses, and they did not tell me, they just left. I was waiting for them to show up the morning of the party to finish the set-up, and they did not. I had 125 people show up with no way to utilize the party entertainment. What a disaster! I was running around trying to find people to go purchase 200 ft of power cords and water hoses. Never again! read more

We ordered a Water Jumper for the 4th of July weekend from them for a gathering we were having at 3pm on Saturday. The Water Jumper wouldn't stay inflated kept on having problems with the Water Jumper and were texting the owner and the owner son in regards to the issues. After seeing the kids going down the slide we noticed that air was coming from the tarp that covered the slide and there was a Big hole in the slide part of the jumper. We immediately called around 4pm J&M and NO Answer....we texted serval times NO ANSWER....we sent pictures of hole NO RESPONSE.....we didn't hear anything from them til Monday morning when the son came to pick up the jumper. We asked if they got our text messages and phone calls and they said YES that they were busy though. They do not want to give is a refund for the price we paid of $220 and the area that got the whole was previously patched. Won't go back to this place ever! Update 7/6/2020. J&M Party Rentals offered store credit if used in 3 months.....Why would I want to to have store credit with them when I plan on never using or suggest anyone I know to never use them again. We rented tables, chairs and tents for our annual University of Redlands Accounting Program BBQ this past weekend and these guys were awesome! It was my first time planning the event so, I was a bit nervous, but the owner, Adrian, was very patient as I determined exactly what we needed and even made suggestions about quantities, etc. The delivery guys arrived early and were amazing. It was very hot on Saturday, but they never complained and were nice enough to stack things neatly to make it easier for me to count (I'm an A-type so, making sure everything was there meant a lot to me! lol) The guys who came back to get everything were just as amazing. I rented a table and chairs, pre-paid, with a promised delivery time of "10-4". I make sure someone is home all day, only for them to NOT DELIVER. I called first around 4, a girl answered who said the driver was "on his way." 40 minutes later, no tables or chairs. I called again, no answer. I called several more times. No answer. I had other people call. No answer. We resorted to actually going to the rental place (closes at 6, this was at 5:45pm we arrived) they were CLOSED. I was having dinner with 13 people who had no where to sit! I ended up having to go to a store and spending 250$ on my own tables and chairs as a last minute resort because this company failed to deliver what was promised and paid for. So fast forward, I get a phone call this morning saying the driver "attempted to deliver" but I "didn't answer my phone so he left." I had my heart set on a Mickey Park jumper for my son's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed birthday party. To my surprise, select few party rental shops had this particular jumper available. The only other place that would deliver to my area had already rented it out for that day. Fortunately (or so I thought), I found J&M's website and saw the jumper I wanted. I reserved it immediately, and drove quite a ways to their shop to pay the deposit to hold my order. Initially, I'd intended on renting the tables & chairs from a place closer to home as I live 30 minutes away from Redlands, and Diana was nice enough to match the price so that I could order it all from one place (hence, the extra star in my review). The reason for my 2 star rating: They gave me the WRONG jumper! And not only was that a catastrophe in itself considering I'd paid delivery fees, and driven 30 minutes in Friday traffic to pay the remaining balance on my order (which I've never had to pay this way, places I've rented from before have always taken a check the day of delivery), but the jumper I received was completely dirty and faded. There were pieces of candy from the previous renters and grass all over. It's ONLY redeeming quality was that it was a Mickey Mouse jumper, just not the one they advertised on their website. Not the one I'd driven all the way to Redlands for! When I called to ask why I'd received a different jumper than what was on their website, I got several stories, none of which seemed real credible to me. And though Diana offered to give me a discount, I had to fight (not literally) for a reasonable offer from her. She finally agreed to remove the delivery fees and apologized, but honestly, I was beyond disappointed. Had I known this would happen, I would have just rented from a place near home, avoided delivery fees, and paid much less for a standard jumper rather than go to the extent that I went through for that dirty old thing! TERRIBLE service. We had my daughters first birthday party. Ordered chairs, tables, balloons and linens. Linens never freakin came. I had to have my brother go pick them up at the store because the party already started and I had nothing! I kept calling the store and the lady said "they'll be there in 15 minutes". Never showed!! Then the balloons were supposed to be ready at 930. My brother went at 1030 and they hadn't even started blowing them up. He said they were supposed to be ready an hour ago. The girl rudely replied, we don't open until 10. Well then why did they freakin tell me they would be ready at 930? And why at 1030 were they not ready? Not only were they late with everything, they were VERY unprofessional and rude. The gal in the shop has super helpful and nice about deciding how many chairs to rent. I emailed this place twice to get rental quotes and never received an email til after I went to the actual place of business and ordered the tables and chairs needed. I discussed day of delivery and was told I would receive a call to schedule a time , no one ever called I called them to find out delivery time. The delivery they told me would be between 12 to 2 and no one ever arrived until 4pm. When I tried to call them no one ever answered till after 15 phone calls and the response I got from the own was your delivery is next they will be ther in an hour. Well after an hour called back due to still no delivery and again it was 10 calls just to get someone to answer and the owner response was well we have 150 deliveries yours will be next!! I explained why would you tell me between 12 to 2 if your never going to show up!! This was friday. Now it's Sunday and they are supposed to pick them up by 10am but yet no phone call so I call them and after 3 phone calls they answer and then say well call you and again no phone call whatsoever! And here I sit and no one is here or called me to pick up the tables and chairs! Since I'm giving a 1-Star review I thought about being fair and starting off with the good. This rental store was the closest retail place to our house and the lady who worked their was friendly. Now the bad- I was Not able to pay by credit/debit card but only cash. Since I rarely carry cash I needed to go and get cash (inconvenience to say the least). I made an extremely small purchase (5 white chairs and 1 linen) which came out to 21 dollars cash. To be very honest, this seemed expensive. Again, these were the most basic white chairs anyone could rent. In addition, I had to pay a 25-dollar cash deposit and was told that the only way I could redeem this cash was bringing the rental back the next day between the hours of 9AM and 11AM. A 2-hour window to me is simply unfair but this is only my opinion. I was Not able to return it the next day but did call. Someone at this facility did pick up the phone but immediately hung up. I decided to back twice knowing someone had to be their if the phone was just picked up. No one answered. I returned the retails the following day without any issue. In total, I ended up paying 46 dollars in cash for 5 basic white chairs and 1-linen. On the paperwork I received, it stated on the back that the rentals must be returned clean or pay another fee. I thought to myself, you got to be kidding me. The 1 linen I rented was dirty. I literally stuck it in the wash before returning it. I've rented many times from many places but I've never felt I needed to literally throw the rental linens into my own washer/dryer so i wouldn't be charged. Last, I will not be going back here. It was too much money and I simply disagree with their policies on A) having just a 2-hour return window in order to receive back my refund, and B) needing to return linens completely cleaned. Thanks for allowing myself to rent from you but I will be taking my future business elsewhere. read more

Once I noticed I was a table and a couple chairs short I notified the place and they said it would be a $25 delivery charge. Which is ridiculous since it was there mistake. This is the third year in a row that we have rented a water slide jumper from here. Once again, we were super happy with their service. I ordered the slide for my daughters party that was scheduled on a Saturday. About one month ago I booked a jumper from another party company the day of the party I texted them to asked when would the jumper be here they told me due to high winds later on they could not bring it, so I happened to call J&M spoke to Dianna she had the jumper that my daughter really wanted. She also threw in balloons for my daughter she had great customer service and when the guy's delivered the jumper they sanitized the jumper inside all over which was great I never seen that before. I picked up on a Friday a Jumper, 16 chairs and 2 tables. No one helped me load it into my car. I had to ask another customer to help me. I am disabled and this caused me a lot of pain. The only person at the shop was a lady and two small kids. When I returned the jumper they had a full staff that unloaded the equipment fast. If not for the issue loading I would have gave them 5 stars. I will use again but be prepared to load yourself. They are friendly and have great equipment. They blow up and clean every jumper when it's returned. I have used other companies that don't do this. Nice place read more

Rented round tables and when we picked them up they were broken, extremely filthy, with spiders underneath. I was so embarrassed when we off loaded them at the venue. If you are going to rent from here make sure you have tools, tape, and zip ties to repair the tables and chairs before your guests use them. Disappointed customer! If I could give zero stars it would still be too much! Where do I start with this terrible company? I was having a rehearsal dinner at my home and needed 4 tables and 21 folding chairs, not a lot to ask for. I called 5 days in advance and asked for pricing. A women helped me and stated that for the two 8' tables, two 4' tables, and 21 folding chairs it would be $40 with delivery. I said thank you and wanted to check the price against another competitor and would call back. After checking around for the price I determined that they were the most fairly priced so I called back and said I wanted to set up the delivery and pay for my order. The girl then stated that because I lived in a different part of town it was now going to be $60 +$2 for using my credit card. I live 2.3 miles from their store, but I just decided that I needed to set it up and worry about the other tasks on my list. I paid over the phone and she told me someone would call to set up delivery on either Thursday or Friday (day of my event) in the morning and they would pick them up on Saturday morning. Nobody called me or showed up on Thursday so I called Friday morning and the owner said they would be delivered in the next hour. I heard a loud truck pull up in front of my home, but no one came to the door or said anything to me. I went outside when I heard the truck start up and found that they just stacked the items against my house on the side. I noticed that they only provided 2 tables so I tried to flag down the truck as it drove off, but they looked at me and ignored me. I lugged the tables and chairs inside my house by myself. I quickly called the store and a women answered and said she was the owners wife and she would call him and make sure he delivered the other 2 tables I had already paid for, I thanked her and hung up. Two hours later I had yet to receive my two tables so I called again. This time the women told me that they had been on vacation and her step daughter took my order and had messed up on the price. I asked her to explain to me how she messed up and she basically agreed that the price was in fact correct and would have her husband deliver the tables. Two hours later I called again to ask when the tables would be delivered, this time she was rude and said that I should've paid $67 and I said that I really needed the tables and if they could just deliver them I would pay the $5 difference even though it wasn't my fault that her stepdaughter made a mistake. An hour later, still no tables, so I called again! This time the owner answered and was extremely rude and disrespectful! The owner said; " I wasn't getting no tables because I told his wife I'd only pay five bucks for tables so don't expect no tables!" I said that his company was unprofessional and ridiculous he then said he's lived in Redlands for 16 years so he doesn't understand the word ridiculous. I'm still not sure how that pertains to his unprofessionalism or poor business practices. I tried to explain the issue with him and he then told me "I know who you are and I live 2 doors down from you and you aint getting no tables!" I asked what that had to do with anything and that I know my neighbors and I didn't think he was thinking of the right customer. He said he would call me back in 15 mins because he was at a wedding, but I'm sure you can guess he never called me back! I had to call my sister and have her drive all the way to her church to grab 2 tables in time for my dinner party so that we'd have enough seats for my guests. This company never provided me with an invoice and never made any effort to make things right! I don't think I've been treated so poorly by a company in a while and I'm not sure how they are in business! Please do yourself a favor and stay as far away from them as you can! read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I have rented from here for many many years I have had other problems with them, but in the past they have tried to rectify the situation. For example two years ago I rented a cotton candy machine for my daughters birthday, never having rented one before I didn't know it was suppose to have a hood to keep the spinning candy from flying out. They gave me the machine for $65 without the hood. They knew when they gave it to me, it did not have the hood, when I returned it and complained they admitted that someone had broken the hood so they just gave it to me without the hood anyway. They offered me a credit for another free rental of equal value, another time as opposed to returning me money. Since I have so many parties I agreed, it was the only way I was going to have it made up to me. Yesterday I rented a Helium tank, that I was told would blow up 60 to 65 11" latex balloons. When we got it home, it only blew up 36 balloons, they told me If I brought it back they would give me another one, so in the middle of setting up for my party I sent my teenage daughter to return it, I also asked her to pick up Two small bags of balloons. She was sold 2 large bags of balloons totaling $32, which I couldn't justify, so I returned them Un-opened the next day with the helium tank. They refused to refund my daughters money. The owner was rude and unbending. When he stormed out, I calmly explained to his wife that for $32 they were going to lose a lot of business, because I would be yelping this, and spreading the word. Just a tip...Party City rents helium tanks cheaper! There are plenty of rental places in town, family owned who would appreciate your business. I threw an anniversary party for my parents and rented a 40x20 tent, 6 tables, and 48 chairs. Diane was always very courteous to me and explained that the set up team would be there between 10 and 12 on Friday morning to set up. She also said they always call ahead to let you know they're on their way. The showed up an hour early with no call. Okay, better than being late I guess. The tables and chairs were a little stained but overall in decent shape. I was told by the set up crew that they'd come between 8am and 10am on Sunday to pick up. This is where J&M is losing all their stars. At 11am the crew had not come so I called the office. Diane apologized and said the crew was on their way and would be at my house in a couple of minutes. At 11:30 I called to see where they were and I got an answering machine. I left a polite message with my number and asked for a call back. I called again at noon with the same result. Mind you I had things to do that day and had put everything off thinking the crew would need access to my gated home in the morning. I called again at 1pm with the same answering machine. At 2pm I drove 15-20 minutes from upper Yucaipa to Redlands to find out what was going on in person. Diane was there, ignoring my messages apparently. She apologized saying the crew was at lunch. I explained how I had been waiting around all day, but she just apologized and said they'd arrive by 3pm. I asked if they were going to be late to please call me and left my name and phone number. The crew arrived at 4:30pm with no call. Had they simply communicated with me I would have given 4 or 5 stars. I felt the crew and management were very unprofessional in this respect.
