I work on North Avenue and unfortunately station North has lost a lot of great places to eat while working in the area. I found this gym via social media and it is a main stay my lunch rotation. The wait time has gotten tighter so I typically don't weigh more than 5 to 7 minutes for my food quick and easy. Witnessed an interesting exchange while I waited. Gentleman was nice, brought his sandwich to the counter and said, "Ma'am this has fried onions, I don't eat onions and there is black stuff all over the burger." The girl at the register INSTANTLY got an attitude. Her whole disposition shifted. She said, "It wouldn't be on there if you didn't order it," in a real sharp, nasty tone. The gentleman restated, "Ma'am I don't even like onions." She just said, "what black stuff is you talking about?" The man told her that if she opens the sandwich she'll see it. She looked at the sandwich and said, "that's the stuff from the grill when you fry the onions" and turned her back and walked away and told the guy at the grill with the bonnet on to handle him. The guy walks up to the counter, no hello or anything. He just immediately says, "you gon' have to pay." That interaction I witnessed was ugly. Definitely didn't want to make me come back. The NY pizza was EXTREMELY greasy. Make sure you get a ton of napkins if you order pizza. And my son complained that it was very undercooked. It was wasted. I have been hearing about this sandwich for months on social media and finally stopped in to try one! I tried to call my order in but their phone was not going thru so I had to walk in to order. The cashier was nice when I asked what toppings were options and she read thru every single one! I ended up with fried whiting and LTO special sauce (don't miss this!), fried onions and honey with American cheese (you have options of American and cheddar, one other I can't remember) It was buzn!!!!! They are black owned and located not too far from mt Vernon. The lady that took my order was nice and friendly and they use fresh ingredients you can see them making your food as you wait. This is strictly a carry out. They do have 2 seats if you have to sit at a counter to eat. It seems that people mainly order over the phone or in person and grab their food to go. They do have a one person restroom to use as well. I tried calling in my order several times and I could never get through. It amazed me that while I was in the establishment the counter person picked up the phone and took an order. My brother recommended this place and treated me to a Crabcake and fish sandwich. The sandwich does not come with any sides and was $16 for a 5 ounce crabcake and two pieces of Whiting. I was not impressed at all. The crabcake did not taste good and my whiting was not hot and fresh. This really surprised me because I waited the 15 minutes in the establishment for my food to be ready. I literally pulled over three minutes after getting in the car from receiving my order and took a bite of the sandwich. I was told this place is known for their fish sandwich and maybe I should've just got straight fish because that crabcake was really bad to me. I'm torn on this place. I went here for the viral fish sandwich. There were a few people in front of me, but the wait time was short. I ordered the tilapia fish sandwich with lettuce, mayo, fried onions and cheese; a Rotisserie leg quarter; and 10 honey Old Bay wings with fries. First, the fish sandwich... it was humongous! But there was only one little square of cheese on it, a few pieces of shredded lettuce and NO ONIONS (that I ordered) ughh!!! The fish was ok but definitely could've been seasoned more. The party wings tasted different. My daughter didn't like them, but I did. They were not crispy, but kinda soft. I don't like hard wings. So, they worked for me. The fries that came with them looked old and wrinkled and there were pieces of the fried chicken grease in them. Idk if that was intentional or not. We didn't eat them. The leg quarter was also interesting because it looked fully cooked but the meat was a little hard to pull off the bone. Perhaps it just needed to be hot. However, the seasoning was among the best I've tasted in a while. Came here on a Wednesday afternoon. Big Keish sent me to try the fish sandwich, and I did just that. When you walk in the place is fairly small, but cozy. Lots of items on the menu to try. Markiya was at the front and she was super sweet. She ran down the menu for me, and made a couple recommendations. I got the seafood salad, and of course, the fish sandwich. You have a choice between catfish and whiting. I got catfish with lettuce, tonatoes, onions, cheese and extra tartar sauce. And boyyyy it did not disappoint. The fish was actually seasoned, and the sandwich itself was huge. Markiya recommended the "blue drink", which was blue raspberry lemonade. It tasted just like old school kool aid. 10/10. The seafood salad was also delicious. Even with a good amount of orders ahead of me, I waited less than 20 min. Im not in Baltimore a lot, but you can bet this will be a stop when I return. The woman who took my order was very patient and helpful! Everything was correct so customer service A+ in my opinion. The catfish sandwich was delicious! Seasoned, fresh and hot! Next time I will omit lettuce because the heat from the fish aged it faster than Caucasian skin. Parking is challenging but I found a spot. This is a to be continued post here because my experience the other night was beyond horrible. It was right around closing (20 minutes until dey closed). So I'm trying to give them the benefit of doubt cause I walks in it's 4 customers ahead of me. But all of them had ordered so I was good or so I thought. The cashier comes up prepares the first one food. Cool no big deal he proceeds to do the same to the next customer. Then we get to the 3rd customer at which point I've been waiting like 10 minutes. When he gives the next guy his food then instead of waiting on me he decides to stop the guy from leaving out & start a conversation with the guy about his bike. At which time I get frustrated & ask him wassup. He looks at me & keeps talking, i simply just shook my head & left out as bad as I wanted to try their fish sandwich i refuse to tolerate disrespect. I waited 20 minutes for this omelette, and unfortunately, it did not justify either the wait or the $17 price tag. The presentation was sloppy, with ingredients spilling out and unevenly cooked eggs. The omelette appeared rushed rather than freshly and carefully prepared. For $17, I expected better quality, attention to detail, and at the very least a meal that looked complete and appetizing. Delays happen, but when there's a long wait, the food should make up for it -- this didn't. The waiting area, or lack there of, was very small and there was barely any standing or sitting room. I came with friends and we were waiting well over an hour because they kept messing up the grits for my friend's order. When we reached home to eat the food there were multiple issues. The "Watermelon Lemonade" tastes like basic Watermelon Koolaid. I ordered Chicken and Waffles and the chicken tastes exactly like the restaurant Hip Hop Chicken and Fish. The waffles were damn near impossible to cut through or even chew. I ordered turkey sausage but the sausage I received tastes like pork. The home fries were overly salty and tasted old. The eggs were bland. My friends ordered breakfast sandwiches and one was overly toasted while the other wasn't toasted at all. My friend also was consuming eggshless while eating the eggs. I believe in getting what I pay for. If I order something a certain way that is what I expect. And if anything is altered with my order please allow me to decide if I want altered order. As I explained to Marquita owner/supervisor, if I gave you counterfeit money you would be upset. Your business would have loss money. This is how so many businesses fail due to POOR customer service. You may have a good food but mistakes with people's orders (not properly correctly the mistake) isn't going to allow your business to thrive!!! Keep your empty apologies that don't remedy the situation. Once I picked up my order (I treated a friend to sandwich as well and both of our sandwich were made incorrectly). Don't assume that I want my food with the missing items. I should be made aware before you just give me what you want to have. I did order what you gave me. I did not get what I paid for.
