I knew he'd be treated with respect. Brought my dad's 20 year old truck in to be smogged. Was worried if it would pass, but it's well kept and passed just fine. If you don't pass, they can tell you exactly what to do so you pass next time and not break your bank at all. Went here today for the first time. I really enjoyed the fast and friendly service. They have a nice big area where you can wait while they smog the car. The guy was friendly and quick with getting everything done. He mentioned I could have some of the popcorn they had. I also saw a cooler with some drinks that I assume are for customers. I did not have to stay too long at all. I was in and out pretty quick, maybe 20 minutes and that was with him doing a smog when I parked. I will be coming here from now on for my smogs! read more

Getting your car smogged is not a lot of fun. But this shop did it fast and the price was right. They are super responsive on yelp and when I arrived I was able to get in and out of the shop real quick. I love the fact that there were no surprises and this is on a 2004 Honda CRV so you're always expecting a surprise so thank you for that. Have been not wanting to get my smog done because it is always such a hassle. I wish I knew places like J&S smog existed. Drove up and was able to get in right away with an appointment. They have fresh popcorn and drinks as you wait. Was in and out within 10 mins. Had to bring my 6 year old and she was so happy with getting popcorn that we will be customers for life! I asked if 30 minutes would be good and they responded immediately with a Yes! I can't believe more people haven't taken the time to review J&S Smog! I went there today and had a wonderful experience. As others have mentioned, the lobby is clean and spacious and YES, they do have delicious, fresh popcorn, even in the morning! They also offer free water, soft drinks and coffee to their clients, I think I was there less than 15 minutes and all 3 gentlemen I encountered were just super friendly and seemed like they all love what they do. It really started my whole day out great - and Yes, even though it was "just a smog test"! read more

This shop is awesome! Called to get a last minute smog totally forgot my husbands vehicle needed it for registration! I called before sending my husband and the owner was so nice I was really impressed! He said come on down let me know he was open until 7. We got the smog done and it was quick and easy! I was so happy that we were able to get the truck in before the registration was due the next day it's great to know there is businesses that are willing to help in a time crunch! I work Monday-Friday business hours and weekends are often too busy to squeeze in anything else, J & S Smog was open after 5pm when all the other options have closed their doors. DO NOT GO HERE. These people are not trustworthy. Go to Karl's smog instead. The owner wanted to buy my Toyota Highlander for his daughter and wouldn't pass my smog even though I had passed it through the same shop less than three months before for my registration renewal. Guy tried to convince me I had a failing catalytic converter even though I had a brand new one installed less than 4 years ago. Offered me some lowball price for my car, told me it would only sell for parts and insisted I "shouldn't sink more money into it by taking it into a shop." Ended up taking it to a mechanic, the mechanic noticed that mysteriously one of the air intake valve lines had been snipped and that it wouldn't be able to pass smog emissions test until it was reattached. He reattached it, I took it to Karl's and it passed the same day. Run don't walk away from here and if you do go here, don't sit in the waiting room. WATCH EVERYTHING THEY DO TO YOUR VEHICLE. They literally cut one of my air intake valve lines so that it wouldn't pass smog and I would be forced to sell them my car for a much lower price than it was worth. Karl's smog is just down the street and 1000x more trustworthy read more

I popped into J&S this morning and was immediately moved into the bay. Twenty minutes later I was done. These guys are quick! You have the option of waiting in a nice air conditioned waiting room. They had fresh popcorn at 8:00 am in the morning and coffee as well. But I chose to hang out in the garage where they have a comfortable leather couch and and a wide variety of motorcycles to look at. All in all a great experience! read more

We were traveling in to Grass Valley, bringing a car to a family member and needed to smog it for transfer. J&S answered phone promptly - made an appointment time for us and were ready for us to pull right in when we arrived. Smog check was done in 15 minutes while we waited.
