I was really worried about getting the crack wet since it was slightly close to the kitchen sink and with how often I mop, I didn't want to start a mold issue. I reached out to my community inquiring on fixing the floor. I had an extra plank so there was no additional material to be ordered. Someone reached out and suggested Ed McDonald and gave me his number. I was glad that he was licensed and insured so it put my mind at ease with moving forward with this repair. Communication with him went smooth and although it was a last minute request, he was able to fit me in on the next business day. He showed up promptly and was able to get in, see the flooring, get his tools, and work his magic all within an hour and a half. Our shower needed the floor replaced and rows of tile replaced due to a pipe repair. I found James Custom tile on Yelp and saw a mention in a group on Facebook. I spoke with him and sent pictures. He sent me a bid and we set up a time to get going. He is very professional in all facets. As great as that is, his work is even better. He was very familiar with the Schluter that was used to install. He got the waterproofing done the first day, had the leak test overnight and tiled the next day. Today he did the grout and it is amazing! I was jealous of all the tools he has! We also appreciate that he was very neat and cleaned everything up. His price was very fair. After two independent home contractors' inspectors, findings of the master bathroom work were done incorrectly. Called the company to discuss my concerns, an employee stated as to say "well things happen, nothing last forever" to paraphrase. With two independent contractors review of the master bathroom, the following repairs were found: cracked tiles, waterproof board not supported at seams, label not removed from waterboard to allow proper adhesion, I was provided with pictures and written estimates. After $7617.81 total amount to repair the bathroom, I am happy with results.
