Talk about Christmas Spirit. The whole family is involved in the endeavor and are so kind. We loved the ornament (we were told this is an annual treat) as well as the cookies and hot cocoa. However they seem to be known more an more for every year their sunflower fields! With thousands covering the area, so many people stop to take photos and admire these beautiful flowers. I go back each year and it never disappoints! Located on the corner of Clover st and Calkins rd. The sunflower field is across the st from the farm, well you can't miss it!

Nice little FAMILY run Christmas tree farm. The man that helped us said his father used to run the…read morefarm and now he has it. They have a little bit of a walk to the actual trees. So, they have a wagon that carts people out to the trees. It was a nice little touch. When you get out to the trees they have some handsaws that you can take to cut your tree. If you don't want to cut it yourself, then you put a little tag on the tree and they will cut and haul it for you. They had pre-cut concolors, which is what I wanted to buy. The owner brings the concolors in from someplace in Springwater. But my family wanted to hack one down, so we went out to the trees. They have white and blue spruce trees, and I think Douglas Fir. We cut a blue spruce which perfectly fit into our corner. The majority of the trees appear to have grown naturally. They don't seem to do a lot of shaping of them throughout the year. They are still pretty and natural looking. They wrap the trees in the baling stuff and even help load and tie the tree to your car. There's a small shop that they sell homemade wreaths in and some crafts. They also had some cookies and hot chocolate there. A great touch after a cold trip to the trees. Price... very reasonable. I think ours was $35. STILL wish we got the precut concolor though. They hold their needles so well. Maybe they will plant a couple for the upcoming years!

The space is inviting and houses a huge variety of rare houseplants, and the owners are happy to share their huge breadth of knowledge on each one! Stem is nestled right next to Sinful Sweets on Alexander, making it easy to stop for cupcakes AND a plant if you want to have a particularly great day. I parked on Park but there's also ample parking on Alexander or any of the side streets. Prices seem reasonable considering you are also getting access to help with your plant and things that are REALLY hard to find other places around town. If you're a veteran plant parent or looking to learn more/start a plant family - this is the spot for you!

I do not fault the farm for that, but can't give a 100% full and accurate review until we are able to experience those things. As noted above we were unable to see the animals, which was really disappointing! But we understand why. We stopped at the office to check, and they were very friendly. They informed us that due to Covid the walking trail is the only thing that is open to visitors, so that is what we did. The farm itself is cute. The grass was groomed, there is a sign telling you what was where, and swinging benches were all over the place. We visited the greenhouse, but there wasn't much going on in there. You can buy plants and flowers. It looked like there was a sand table that kids could dig around in that is probably busy on better days. We walked the trail, scoped out the pond (watch that loose board!), and went into the woods. This is where it got interesting, because I had no idea it was lined with "fairy houses"! My daughter was elated about this, and we checked out every single one. There were also signs with cool nature factoids, like what prints certain animals make, and how to tell how old a tree may be. There is a really nice pavilion just outside of the farm entrance, and a playground there too. Another fun thing we discovered by the playground was a Little Library! This place has great reviews overall, and I believe them. I think that we'd really love it once we are able to experience all that it has to offer. I still recommend it now if you are looking for a fun and easy trail to walk. Especially if you have kids! And it is right around the corner from other trails and fun playgrounds to explore, too. We will definitely come back and try again when Covid precautions are lifted! :)
