If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. The RailYard is hands down one of the best…read morerestaurants I've ever been to, and it's right here in Bluefield. From the food to the drinks to the service, every single detail is outstanding. On my first visit, I tried the fried green tomatoes, the famous chicken & waffle nachos, and the Bleu Monday burger with sweet potato fries each dish was so good that I found myself planning my return before I even left. Sure enough, the next day I was back and had the ridiculously delicious smoked Gouda shrimp mac, maple bacon Brussels sprouts, fire-roasted tomato soup with grilled cheese, and the chimmied fries. Absolutely phenomenal. The fried green tomatoes have officially become my standard nobody else compares now. The Samurai Jack salad so fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable. The drinks deserve their own spotlight. The Breakfast Club with a Sidecar is a must try, and the Basilto All Flavors series (strawberry, blackberry, blueberry) is out of this world, blueberry was my personal favorite. Creative, refreshing, and perfectly crafted. The RailYard is the kind of place that makes you excited to come back again and again. The vibe is cool, the staff/manager Brad is friendly and attentive, and the food is truly next level. Whether you're a student at Bluefield State or just passing through town, this place is an absolute must. The RailYard sets the bar high for food, drinks, and atmosphere in West Virginia. Worth every single visit and then some.

I live 50 minutes out from here and I had a doctor appointment, I stopped here because I hadn't eaten on the way down and I wanted to try something new. On my way in, the host was nice and sat me at my table, the atmosphere wasn't bad. I was in a quiet corner and it seemed like slow day for them so it felt pretty peaceful to me. I had the Mac n cheese bowl and it was delicious! Very nice and hot and it all tested pretty fresh! It came with three garlic/butter bread and they were lightly toasted on one side and it was perfect. Chad was my waiter and he did a very nice job as well, he checked on me in timely manner that wasn't to much and he was very polite and calm. So I'd definitely say I'm very satisfied with my first experience, and I think it's a nice place to give a try if you hadn't eaten there before. Of course everyone experience will be different and not as good as mine, but this definitely deserves a chance, and if I come down here again I'll definitely come back and eat here! My only "complaint" is that I would've liked more broccoli in my Mac n cheese, but it was so good that it didn't even affect my experience.

Met a friend at 8. For the first hour, the atmosphere was solid. For the second hour, it was okay. For the third hour, it wasn't good. The clientele kept going downhill. It had a bit of a troublemaking vibe. Just letting you know. But you probably already know. This is more for the people coming in from out of town and considering it as an option. If you want a chill vibe, I recommend going during the day or evening.

The menu is also very southern and tough to choose what get, but the fried chicken was amazing, pimento Mac n cheese was amazing, homemade biscuit/apple butter was amazing, Cole slaw best ever. I was caught off guard when my friend walked up the stairs to the house because from initial appearance, I wouldn't have thought this was the restaurant! Upon walking in, the host greeted us and told us his name was Dan and that he was the owner of the restaurant! It was really cool to see that the owner is truly passionate about his restaurant and will show up to put in the work, even during the later hours. In terms of the food, I went with the Hungry Hokie which was a mashed potato bowl with with bits of meatloaf and chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese. It also came with a biscuit or cornbread, I opted in with the cornbread. The food was absolutely hearty and had pretty good flavor! The one wish that I had was that it came in a bigger portion as it didn't fully fill me up. If I was in town again, I'd definitely consider going back to try the other items on the menu!
