If I could rate this store more than 5 stars I really would! I came across this place as they were advertising Santa pictures (for free might I add) and they came out so cute! Immediately after entering the store I was greeted by Erin, Brenda and Kim who were the friendliest, kindest, most helpful working employees I have ever met. I really need to highlight Erin and Brenda for a moment to give you an accurate understanding of why I am so appreciative of them! My senior pug does not do well with walking on the floor so I went to go pick him up and as I picked him up he started to pee in the air like a newborn baby totally going in the direction of her about to completely drench her and thank god missed. I was soooo embarrassed and Erin and Brenda could not have made me feel more comfortable and laughed it off with me! As if that was not enough, my dog proceeded to pee down the whole aisle as I was reading ingredients in treats!!! Again, Erin and Brenda to the rescue totally laughing it off and cleaning it up with no ounce of aggravation or irritation. Brenda held my Rosie on the leash while I paid at the register and Erin helped bring all my stuff to the car! I am so overly impressed with their customer service and knowledge of their products. Erin was able to recommend a powder to add to my dogs diet for senior nourishment. I'm very pleased with this establishment and truly hope they continue to thrive and cannot wait to return soon! read more

I came here after having a weird/uncomfortable experience at the Kinnelon Petco today. This store had the food I was looking for (natural balance puppy) . I came in for the salmon but ended up getting the lamb which was actually my first pick (I didn't expect them to have it because it's been out of stock everywhere but they had it). The young woman who helped me was very friendly and even offered to bring the large bag of food up to the register (she really didn't have to but it was a nice touch!). She even said "you should bring your dogs next time!". I like supporting small local businesses but I tend to go to large chains (where no one goes up to you) because of my anxiety but I would definitely come back here for sure. read more

HIGHLY Disappointed with the new ownership and staff. Prices have gone up, up and away. It used to be truly an outlet of sorts, reasonable prices. No longer. Prices are as high as the large chains unless they run a special or coupon deal. Highly disappointed with the new staff and ownership. I used to walk in on a first name basis. Now I'm ignored when I walk in the door so I stopped going there and find MUCH better prices online at chewy dot com. Premium shipped food is cheaper at Chewy than JB. JB used to be competitive if not a drop less. No longer. I support local owned businesses over chains normally. With my new supplier they have 24/7 staff that answers an email in 5 minutes. The staff at JB just says "we don't carry that anymore" and walk away. Rick was wonderful. I have no idea who owns JB now but they don't handle it the way Rick did. Adios JB unless I find out things have changed. Online shopping at Chewy with coupon codes NOW saves me a fortune on the thousands I used to spend yearly on food and supplies at JB. It doesn't feel like JB anymore. They should have stuck with Rick's retailing at lower prices than the chains. Most of my friends no longer shop there either and when I brought a friend in from out of town, she couldn't believe this was where I used to shop. She found the prices insanely HIGH too. read more

Don't go here. Order from amazon, much cheaper and they deliver to your doorstep. I parked out front for one min, which is a no parking, to carry a 50lb dog food bag to my car. The cop saw me walk to my car with bag and gave me a ticket with no warning. Then they store actually gave me an attitude from the store. Prices are reasonable and they recently started carrying Blue Buffalo brand at a nice savings over chain pet stores like PetCo and Petsmart. But I have a dog with food allergies so one bag I bought didnt sit well with him. Made him puke for a few days. I tried to return the food or get store credit and was told all sales are final although it is not noted anywhere.. not even on their receipts. After putting up a stink, and stating that I had been purchasing from them for over a year now the store manager finally gave in and allowed me to get something else for comparable price in the store. So just make sure your getting something that you have had your cat/dog successfully on food or treats that wont interact with them. All in all, still a good deal, just kinda makes food purchases alittle harder with a dog with food allergies when one day he's fine and next maybe theres a recipe change and has a reaction. read more
