However, I'm currently very upset with the outcome we had the other day. My dog was taken in for a teeth cleaning, which we had done before with Rusty. This time when my mother arrived to pick my Yorkie up from the clinic, Rusty informed her that he had pulled twelve of my dogs permanent teeth in the front! I don't believe this was a procedure that absolutely had to happen to prevent health problems, he just told her that they were pretty bad and were soft like butter. We brush his teeth each time we give him a bath and so does our dog groomer. If his teeth were like "butter" they could have fallen out while we were brushing them, or while he was eating. If this was done for medical reasons, I could understand because I definitely want to keep my dog healthy. But I think a decision to pull TWELVE teeth warrants a phone call to the owner to get approval prior to doing this! Why on earth he wouldn't think it was important to call us first is beyond me, and I'm very upset about it. I was not there when my dog was being picked up, otherwise I would have spoken to Rusty myself, but I will definitely need to have clear communication about what he is allowed to do without my consent beforehand if we use him in the future.

Throughout the entire process, he was knowledgeable, compassionate, and took the time to make sure both my mare and I were comfortable with her treatment plan. We brought him home, put him in the shop and went to check on him a few hours later. He was pretty much paralyzed, struggling to breath, and had lost control of his bowels and bladder. We took him back and they did blood work. His liver functions were abnormal. They administered fluids but he died that night. We believe they overdosed him on something. He also had marks on his neck that appeared to be from a snare. The cat was taken in a humane trap and all they had to do was sedate him in the cage. They didn't need to drag him out of the trap. It was a horrible experience. I will never take an animal to this place again.

Rather than treating every dog the same, they tailored his experience to meet *his* needs, and that has made such a difference. For context, I live a couple of states away and I still make a trip to Moab if my dogs ever need any expensive procedures such as dental cleanings. Every vet around me quoted me between $1100 to $1600 for cleanings / extractions. At this vet clinic I brought BOTH of my dogs here for dental cleanings and extractions. One had nine teeth pulled and one had seven teeth pulled. COMBINED, including pain meds to take home, I still paid almost half as much money as the bottom quote of every vet I've contacted around me. This vet clinic is the only one I am aware of that is genuinely trying to ensure your animals are able to receive care by NOT robbing you blind. There are no price regulations in the vet industry so many vets inflate their prices to absurd levels. Okay, now that is out of the way. The staff here are great. They are great at communicating information and ensuring you know how to properly care for your animals after procedures. They encourage you to call with questions if you have any. Everyone I have encountered has been friendly and polite. I feel like they love to see my pets with how they talk to them. If I can't be with my dogs, then I like knowing people who care about my pets, are taking care of them. The building is small but their hearts are big. To all of you who live in Moab, count yourselves blessed to have such a wonderful vet clinic available to you.

This is a heartbreaking review…read more I was planning on spending 2 days with my dying dog but they ended up having to put him to sleep. I called late, like 9pm last night from my cell in an RV park not too far away. They were willing to travel to me but I ended up going to the. They readily agreed to put my dog to sleep in my RV so he wasn't scared. They let me feed Cargo tons of treats and a raw steak before. She listened to his heart and confirmed it was failing again. And they let me hold him and talk to him as long as I wanted. We talked about the breed and how he was incredibly lucky to like 13 years as Weimaraner's tend to like roughly 11years. Although I don't remember the names, they were sisters and the tech gave me a big hug afterwards as I was uncontrollably sobbing. They were patient and kind and gracious to a stranger who was passing through taking her best friend on one last road trip. They took the time to really listen, learn about our dog and consider the best care for him. They really care to treat their patient as a whole vs symptoms only. In a world where everything is so fast paced and regularly we feel rushed out the door it couldn't have been more opposite here, the Doctor really took his time, and you can tell how much he cares. After a routine spay, my dog developed an infection at the incision site. When we returned to give them a chance to fix it, things went from bad to worse. A vet tech took her into a back room--away from our sight--and shaved her entire underbelly to the skin to deal with the oozing from the infection. They shaved her so aggressively that it caused a severe skin rash/burn, which the clinic then refused to take any responsibility for. The most terrifying part? After seeing no improvement, we took her to an emergency vet for a second opinion. We were told the medications Payson Family Pet Hospital sent us home with were actually formulated for a cat and weren't even close to the correct dosage for a dog. This clinic is negligent, their staff is reckless, and their lack of accountability is appalling. We will never return. If you love your pets, do not bring them here.

6.25.2026 We took Ethel our cat to Mapleton Family Pet Clinic to have her teeth cleaned and since…read moreshe would be under anesthesia we requested that they also clean her ears. According to the vet office everything went just fine and we could pick her up. We did this and figured she was still groggy from the anesthesia as she was so floppy and didn't seem right. Took her home and realized something was not right. Each eye was either flipping side ways and going around in circles. And she couldn't hold up her head or stand or walk. We called the various numbers published by them to tell them something was very wrong and and request help, each email or phone message had a response of "we will get right back to you." Called again and left messages the next morning (a Saturday) and again "we will get right back to you". Ethel had not gotten better through the night and still couldn't stand, or support her neck (eat or drink). Again after leaving numerous messages and forms of contact from what we could find for them and still nothing. We ended up taking her to the Payson Family Pet Hospital. She was examined and given an IV because she was dehydrated etc. the examination found that one of her ear drums had been punctured and infection had gone into her inner ear causing her to have severe vertigo and a condition called "Vestibular Syndrome". Ethel was given a shot to help with the infection etc. Over all Ethel was well cared for and the vet was very knowledgeable and empathetic. Monday I received a telephone call from Mapleton Pet Clinic saying they received my message and did we want to bring Ethel in. I kind of laughed and said oh, I thought you were maybe calling back to give a refund etc. and NO we would never return or trust them with an animal we cared about, explaining how sick she is and has been all weekend and thanked them and that was it. Never any further communication, apology nothing. All we were left with is a crazy expensive bill from them and now bills to another vet trying to treat what Mapleton Family pet did to our initially healthy cat. I believe we are now 6weeks since they hurt her and she still isn't not well, better yes but not back to being healthy. I caution you with taking any animal to Mapleton Family Pet and if you have an issue after a surgery know that they no longer care for animals or check messages etc. after 5pm or on weekend's.

From the moment we walked in I felt comfortable with the wonder staff up front, Brie and Amanda. I was in a panic and they were calm and comforting. My little Yorkie was hospitalized but within 24 hours they had her doing so much better. She was discharged and happy and well. We had a EKG apt with the cardiologist Kya Fedora who was completely wonderful and thorough, I only wish she could continue to be her cardiologist if we didn't live out of state we would continue to see her. I appreciate each and every one of their staff members who worked so hard to get my Lola healthy again! I'll be forever grateful! Thank you
