Large selection of frozen goods along with sauces, flours, snacks, candy and drinks (One Tree Hard Cider, mead and a few GF beers). Prices aren't cheap but it's a one stop shop. Have bought Superfree Bakehouse vegan pies ($12.99 USD) and vegan cupcakes ($5.29 USD). Strawberry rhubarb was better than the dutch apple pie. Cupcakes (snickerdoodle, strawberries and cream, apple streusel) not too sweet with a pleasant texture. read more

As a gluten free girlie, this place is heaven on earth. They have a massive selection of gluten free items and there is always something fun and new to try. About half of the store is fridge/freezer and there are some awesome products in there- I keep going back for the pasta shells, hand pies, and amazing variety of pizzas. Pretty much every gluten item you would find in a freezer, they have a gluten free substitute for! The rest of the store is snacks and pantry essentials. There is a large variety, but it's really all of the good stuff, none of that gluten free stuff that tastes like sand. The store is very well organized so it is super easy to find things, see prices, etc. The staff is very friendly and kind. While all their items are gluten-free, they also have an amazing selection of other niche categories too -- low-carb/keto, low-fat, grain-free, plant-based/vegan, etc. and I was shocked by how reasonable the prices were. Specialty foods are always more expensive to some degree, but I left feeling like I'd gotten just as much (if not more) for my money than I often do at the regular grocery store. Its like a dream shopping here! No looking at labels - just shopping for what you want!! In addition to many thing you would find at a Whole Foods or PCC, they have many other brands and food options. It includes dry items and frozen. Licorice - one of my favorite things of all time. Wow. Totally amazed to see everything in one place Gluten Free. Very clean well organized and prices are very reasonable. Love the selection of snacks and frozen items. First time having a 100% spring water in the box. Taste divine. I'll definitely go back and purchase more. Loved the sale track in the back of our dated items. Good products to choose from and try. I highly recommend this market. The manager was very helpful when I walked in and said to let her know if I had any questions about anything. It was my first time and I'm glad to have stopped by. Great place to find gluten free and special stuff! Little place but well stocked! I came for cookie dough and left with lots of things :) Gluten free crackers, pies, noodles, gingerbread mix for this season, etc! They do work hand in hand with distributors so they can keep their stock :) Be aware the address shown is a bit tricky. GPS brought me to a nearby mall. You will have to locate the Post Office. It will be a block far from it near the freeway exit. Road has to parallel roads separated by train tracks so look yo your map closely. read more

About to pick up my birthday cake and wanted to shout out to J-Bros. We rely on J-Bro's to have all the things that make GF life worth living, especially bread and pie. I love that we can find staples as well as specialty items. More importantly, we have more choices when it comes to staples here. Whereas the big box stores have a lean selection. My son gets to make GF gingerbread houses and enjoy cinnamon roll breakfasts with his friends. I don't think there's any other place we can rely on that makes it so my kid can enjoying the food holidays with his non GF friends. read more

I really appreciate these type of markets that dot our awesome Pacific Northwest region. At first, I thought it seemed rather hodge-podge/unorganized a little bit but then I just figured there must a method to the madness. There's an awesome variety of sauces, seasonings, snacks, bars, bites & bits, noms & nibbles, baking things and frozen things... and even though the focus is gluten-free, generally if you encounter a business with a diet sensitivity, they're fairly privy to carrying other diet-friendly options - especially my favorite: vegan. Lots of #vgang products here, dudes. Many products touch on the usual health markets (think WF, Co-ops, PCC, etc); interestingly enough Janell's may have some things rare. For example, potato tortillas sound yummy. They have Nada-Moo vegan ice cream which is a HHV YT vlogging favorite I'm still curious to try. I ended up with some King Soba sweet potato noodles and similar plus a coconut water. A really cool, little health market in the upper Eastside. read more

Great little establishment to have here in Woodinville! I shop here for vegan staple products we like to keep in the fridge such as cheese, coffee creamer, dips/spreads, butter, etc. They have lots of other processed vegan products that are competitively priced with the larger surrounding grocery stores. This place has a really good range of gluten free and vegan products, but could do with a little more attentive customer service. I was here to buy several gluten-free, vegan cake making ingredients for a friend's birthday, and I had NO idea what I was doing, since I've never done gluten free and vegan baking. I literally stood in front of the baking/flour shelf for twenty minutes, and the lady in the store watched me indecisively look through a bunch of different flours but didn't offer me any assistance. I'm sure it looked weird as well, since there's only the two shelves of baking stuff and I was there for a pretty long time! I eventually just grabbed some random flour and asked at the counter briefly if that would work, and I was told it'd be fine. Later, I discovered that I also needed to buy xanthan or guar gum to mimic the properties of gluten, but hadn't been advised about this at the time, so that meant I had to make another trip to the store. It's considerably pricey as well. A box of gluten-free flour, a pack of vegan butter and a bag of rice cakes turned out to be over $17. I understand gluten-free foods can be pricey, but I later found gluten-free flour and vegan butter at the TJs next door for several dollars less per item. They did have some cookies and other treats that looked promising. I think I'd come back if I was buying specific GF products like that which I couldn't readily get at a QFC or TJs, but for basic things like flour or butter, I'll stick to a regular grocery store. read more

While working nearby at Evergreen Hospital, I noticed the large GLUTEN FREE sign in the storefront neighboring the Kirkland Trader Joe's. I desperately awaited their opening to check it out. Once the creepy standup cutout was put up, I noticed the NOW OPEN sign. Janell's offers a large variety of all gluten-free products, but at steep prices. Many of similar product brands such as Udi Breads, GF Barilla Pasta, and Snyders Pretzels can be found at Safeway or TJ's and are less expensive than here. The owner and other employee were not very welcoming or friendly either---which was a bit of a bummer being a small market. It remains new with some more improvements coming (I imagine) but is a great addition to Kirkland for those with Celiac Disease or Wheat/Gluten sensitivity. read more

Awesome little market with tons of gluten-free goodies, and some that are very difficult to find in other stores (cauliflower crusts for example - they have a huge variety for cheaper than the company who makes them sells online for). They also sell items I've never ever seen from some of my favorite brands (Schar, Udi's, Katz). All the prices were what I'm accustomed to from Whole Foods, Sprout's, etc. Will definitely return. read more

Great selection of gluten free foods and ingredients. I will be sure to come back to get more of their things in the future. If I had a deep fryer, I would be sure to pick up some of the panko for Japanese style fried food. Although some of their the prices of the food is a little more expensive, most gluten free food has a typical upcharge for being gluten free. I like the connivence of coming here to look for food that doesn't have gluten. The store owner was really nice and helpful for finding where things were. She was also open to any other suggestions people might have for carrying goods. read more

They have stuff that no one else has, except if you order online. Their prices are very reasonable, the price on their cassava noodles was the best price I could find anywhere, and I did not have to wait days for it to ship to me. The noodles were literally half what Amazon was trying to charge for them, and I would much rather support a small business. They have items for grain free as well as gluten free. The customer service is always stellar and I believe they are family owned. I recommend them! And pray they are blessed and able to thrive during these tough times. read more

The products are awesome and many are local which I love. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because I bought a loaf of bread that was on a rack and had a price tag of 3.99, and as I walked out I realized it had expired a month ago. I went back to return it and the man helping me was not subtle about the inconvenience of returning the product as he audibly groaned and rolled his eyes. He informed me "that's why it's marked down, and food is still good after the expiration date". All of the items are stickered the same so there is no way to tell what's "marked down". No one was in the store so it's not like he was doing anything else, and I don't appreciate the attitude. read more

They have an excellent selection of gluten-free products and also stock a lot of products for other dietary restrictions (vegan, paleo, etc...). Their markdowns are also the bomb diggity, and I have gotten some killer deals on some delicious products that I otherwise might not have tried. I was really excited to see the big GLUTEN FREE sign when we drove by a few weeks ago...and for some reason I thought this was a bakery and I was ready to see what kind of gluten free baked goods they would have. Before finally stopping in, I realized it was a market and that actually made it easier to get the gluten free eater in the house interested in going...because he really likes a certain gf cookie and he hoped to find it here! (He did.) This is a small market, but big enough for the gf items they offer. Lots of sweets, snacks, bars, cookies, all those "grainy" items. Pastas, flours, sauces, frozen items and specialty goods. It seems they even have season items -- I spied some Easter goodies on the way out! There are some small carts inside the market and baskets for a quick run in too. Even though there are only a few aisles here, they do have a great selection of food and food goods. Lots of different brands, some that are definitely tricky to find anywhere expect online. The staff was helpful and friendly too. My little one really enjoyed the hidden gem we discovered in the back of the store -- a little kitchen and play area! I would not leave a child unsupervised here though because there are many breakable bottles nearby, but it was nice to find that this market is definitely child-friendly! Being almost next door to Trader Joe's we did step in there first. We noticed that a cereal that both stores offer is a bit cheaper at TJs, but they definitely don't have as much selection of other gf items. Both shops are good, but for gf items, this is a great little market to try! read more

J-Bro's is the ONLY gluten free market in all of King County and oh, so, so wonderful for those of us who have to eat gluten free. It is like walking into a wonderland when other stores are so sparsely stocked and there is no selection. The whole place is gluten free! And what a selection there is. Jordan (owner and operator) often takes my requests to stock something and there it is the next time I shop there. And there are items for those who need to eat dairy free and those who are on Keto or Paleo diets as well. There is a lot of free parking in the lot outside and a lot of deliciousness inside. Anyone can appreciate the delicious locally-baked and frozen items available weekly, not just those who have to eat gluten free! Please keep this lovely place in business! read more

What a GEM this place is for people who are looking for gluten free, Keto, low- carb, Paleo friendly items. It's a one stop shop specialty store like no other. There's so many items in this tiny store that you can't find elsewhere, and some of the items that you can find at Whole Foods, Janell's is cheaper! It's too bad her location is where it is. She would blow up if she was in Bellevue or Seattle. We spent about $180. My husband has been on Keto for over a year now, and it was a treat for us to explore and stock up at Janell's. Great store. I was blown away when I visited JBro's GF Market for the first time recently. They have so many unique varieties of products for the GF world and beyond. I started Keto, and have found many of the products I need for that diet at JBro's! They have a lot of the boutique brands that are stellar. The store is clean, organized, bright and cheerful. The staff is incredibly helpful in pointing out the products that you might like, and are very kind. I love this gem in Woodinville and will be back! read more

I have shopped at Janell's Gluten free market for many years.  They were originally located by Trader Joe's in Totem Lake, then moved to Woodinville. The new owner took over in April, and while familiar with the products, has a definite negative attitude. When questioned about a price difference of an item carried at other stores, he was more interested in proving himself right than keeping me as a customer. I didn't ask for a lower price, just mentioned that their store was higher for the item than the grocery stores.  His other employee was very nice, helpful and pleasant. She was also his mom. If J-Bro wants to attract and keep new and existing customers, he might try observing how his mom interacts with people. It's never too late to learn something from your mother. read more

Great selection of hard to find gluten free goods, beer, breads, etc. Xo baking company box mixes are the best cookies you will ever try, worth the price. They have tons of paleo products too. The staff is always so helpful and knowledgeable with brands and products. They will order me full cases of awesome gf food I can't find anywhere else. Janell, the owner/operator is currently serving our country in the Army and was an intelligence officer in at least Afghanistan, that I know of. She needs, like many of us, to follow a gluten-free diet. One American out of eight are highly gluten intolerant. Janell's is one place where we can shop where nothing contains gluten and, yes we don't have to read the contents if we don't want! So, you say, her prices are certainly spendy! NOT! Most everything she sells is competitively priced. She is, of course, highly knowledgable, and also tries everything she sells, from what I've discovered. I have never been disappointed! read more

This place is AMAZING and I am so thankful that the new location is open. I've tried many new, fun, delicious treats here after years of trying to a) create them myself or b) go without. For those of us with serious dietary restrictions, the market offers a variety of options of frozen foods (pies, ice cream, cookie dough) as well as crackers, cereal, etc. My in-laws now shop here as well before family gatherings because they love the peace of mind in knowing that anything they purchase/prepare from Janell's will be a hit for big groups as well as safe for me (yes, they are the best). As for logistics - plenty of parking, easy location to stop by while running errands, good business hours. Prices are fair. One of the benes moving up to Woodinville was having this in my backyard. I was so excited to be able to go weekly and stock up on all of my goodies and staples that I use for my recipes. Huge selection of seasonings, cake/muffin mixes and tons of frozen foods. With such a selection I have been able to try all sort of foods that I have not had access to in the past. It's so nice to find a store filled with gluten free items! I've been looking for gluten free puff pastry forever, and finally found a store that carries a couple of varities. I've been there twice and was pleased with the selection. The only downside was the staff isn't very friendly. Both times there the same guy checked us out. Both times he didn't say a single word even though I tried to chit chat. The prices are the same or similar to PCC and Whole Foods which are both closer to my home. I really want to support this business and will return. Maybe we just caught him on a bad day. read more

Love Janell's, but we live in South Everett, and were dismayed when they had to close the Evergreen Way store in order to devote attention to the larger Kirkland store. We will always go here to get those impossible-to-find items. We have been gluten-free due to Celiac for 3 years, and Janell's was our best source. Now that many chain groceries and even Costco are carrying more GF staples, we still go to Janell's for the items that are unavailable everywhere else, even Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. Anybody who has the sense of a hamster can find their way around the store; if you bother to ask, they are so kind and friendly. Janell has given me great advice on many brands, what has worked well for her or for her customers, etc. I would advise anybody who's new to GF cooking to do their own research through the hundreds of great GF blogs or books out there, and come in with their grocery lists to get what you need. read more
