I had my eye on a romper that was online for sale. I thought instead of having to wait for it to be shipped why not stop by a store and see if was still available for purchase. Upon entering the store I had a lovely (female) sales assistant help me out and boom I found the romper! Everything seemed ok up until I was in the fitting room. Originally I was the only one in there but eventually another woman occupied the room next to me. The same sales assistant (male) who unlocked the room for me came back only to ask the other woman if she needed help. He didn't bother asking me if I needed assistance. I quickly noticed another Caucasian woman across the room and he immediately tended to her. I rarely feel discriminated against but I did today. I wanted the outfit but once that happened I felt deflated and kinda bad, as if I wasn't good enough to shop there. I opted to leave the piece behind. read more

J. Crew is a one stop shop for women's, men's, and children's clothing. They've got something nice for everyone. If you're looking for trendy it's not here because the style here is simplistic with a bountiful assortment of color. You'll find a clothing article in like six different colors. Nonetheless, the clothes fits well and makes you feel good. The store itself was spacious and stocked well; with plenty of sizes to choose from. The staff were nice, approachable, and very keen on helping in case I needed something. Plus there was a 40% discount off marked down clothing, and an additional 15% off with a student ID. I bought a nice shirt. Be aware, prices can be a little steep though, so if you're shopping on a budget you might want to go elsewhere. If money's not an issue go right ahead and find something you can look good in. Overall, great experience shopping and with customer service. read more

Agree with other reviewers that this location is not only huge but well stocked too. It is also a well-allocated space where I rarely feel crowded (that is, unless it's just plain crowded). it's funny, I never buy anything from J Crew but I love coming in this store to browse. It's a "comfort store", one of those places you just feel good walking around in. Cant really explain it hah! Impressed with the friendly service and cool composure despite the busy crowd from the employees who work there. They carry most items you can find online and of course the difference is you can try the pieces on. I just want to start with saying that Katrina is awesome! I didn't come to Old Town Pasadena to go to J. Crew. My boyfriend suggested the idea once we were there. He told me to find a few things and that they would be one of my Christmas presents. I'm HORRIBLE at shopping for myself. I looked and looked around the sale items.Finally, I found a pair of baby pink pants to try on. Looked and Found someone to let me in a fitting room. She (NOT Katrina) was not very friendly. I liked the pants okay (I think I liked the price more). I started to look some more. I wanted a top to go with it. Another Crew member offered some advise. I was still stuck though. Did I mention that I am HORRIBLE at shopping for myself? haha... So, I continue to browse the sale racks. Thats when Katrina approched me, asking if she could help. I was a little reluctent at first because I had no idea what I wanted or what i was looking for and I had spoke to two other associate before. She then started small talk with me. Then started asking questions about what I wear and the stuff I like. Then my boyfriend stepped in and told her what he would like to see me in. She took what we told her and she helped find me some clothes that made both my boyfriend and me happy. She was VERY outgoing and I will come back to location just because of her. read more

First off, I love J Crew. The brand has come a long way over the last decade. From being stuffy-prep wear of moderate craftsmanship for boring suburbanites to Italian fabrics innovatively manufactured in Asia for an affordable consumer price in a chic urban design aesthetic for thirty and forty-somethings. Mickey Drexler, the CEO of J Crew used the same strategy for Banana Republic when he was the CEO of Gap Inc. and so, needless to say he has redefined consumer clothing so that well designed products with high end materials are accessible to the middle class. It's brilliant. J Crew alone gets five stars from me. However this review is for the Pasadena location. It goes without saying that this location, in terms of cleanliness is superior. The staff are all very polite and as helpful as can be. And lastly, they typically have a decent stock. That being said I do feel a bit uncomfortable in the way the store is laid out. Like most stores of this nature, the men's section is stuffed away in the corner and dimly lit. I have to trek through what seems like miles of women's clothing to get to the back. Once back there I often feel bombarded by the overly helpful staff. They are always polite and do their best to answer questions, however, when I'm purchasing slacks at $200 a pop I want to have all of my questions answered. Maybe that's too much to ask? Aside from the abundance of unneeded attention I often feel as if I'm being watched closely. Maybe this location has a theft problem, because I feel as if I'm always under suspicion here. It is what it is but I hate to be scrutinized while I'm dropping a bit of cash on clothing. Shopping like this should be a pleasant experience, not an exercise in self awareness. Other than the above said, I like this store. It's a great addition to blossoming Old Town Pasadena. I'm not an avid shopper at J. Crew but I like some of their clothing. At this particular store, I hate the fact that the Men's Department is way in the back of the store. However, it was worth the walk because they have some good deals. Not sure why most of their clothes look so wrinkled but when I see a bargain, I can make an exception. By the way, as in most stores, the Men's area is much smaller than the women's area in this store. With such good bargains, I guess I forgot to inquire about this during checkout. read more

This is a great company, they make an effort to ethically source the material used in their products through fair trade and environmentally friendly methods. I am so glad I no longer work for this company. I am extremely disappointed with how I was treated specifically at this jcrew today. Since today was my last day of employment I decided to take advantage and purchase a few items and decided to go here. Claudia (manager) was rude when she first came and introduced herself. She lets me know of their policy that I have to introduce myself at the beginning in a very sassy attitude (which yea I didn't let her know -.-). What I hated about this company was they always let us know that the client goes first. I waited till every customer got checked out until she was able to check me out. No conversation made, the whole time she was talking to her employee. The most conversation she made was to ask for my employee number and name. Its sad but true, The GM at this store has an attitude problem. I have shopped a lot at this J.Crew (I have a Crew Card) and even had a personal shopper, but that lady Claudia would always tell him to hurry up with me and make me feel really uncomfortable. They have really cute tops and pants which come in nice colors that are very comfortable for both men and women. Not everybody likes clothes from J. Crew it's a certain type of look more for the same person that would shop at Banana Republic then you would also like this clothes because they are of the same style and quality. Very comfortable material the average prices range from $40- and up but there is a Sale rack in the rear of the store they also carry many skirts and dresses and many things to select from. I come this store all the time and have always had a pleasant experience. But, I went in with a coworker yesterday afternoon and customer service was awful. I asked a couple questions about the jewelry and she was very condensing in her tone to both me and my friend. I was contemplating making a complaint to the manager, as my coworker and I were in awe about how rude she was to us... When I was making my purchase at the counter, the same "lady" lingered around so I asked the cashier if that was the manager.... she said yes! Although I miss hitting "Liquor Store" and Men's Store concepts by J Crew. I have to say, the service and attention I get at the Pasadena location is quite pleasant. Now, I by no means expect any of my Yelp friends nor you the reader to recognize that every time I check in here, I am rather inebriated and being extremely impulsive. The fact that these salespeople can take full advantage and up-sell me but chose to show restraint is my favorite piece of this sartorial puzzle. I'm a tough sell actually and was recently told I'm rather unapproachable so perhaps that plays into this customer experience. Nevertheless, I will continue to spiral down this alcohol infused vortex of retail therapeutics and stay on task when crunk on Colorado. Just keep providing the right assortment and off- retail pricing so that I may justify it come daybreak. I'm gonna like the way I look, I guarantee it while in store and feeling no pain. P.S. I browse the women's section upon every visit, simply due to the fact that much like my staple Ralph Lauren addiction, ladies in J Crew are more appealing to me than anything Victorias Secret can offer. Knowing this, I bought my cute, little bikini anyway. J Crew has nice clothes without huge LOGOS across your butt or boobs. I like the store. Service was helpful, but I have to agree with the other reviewer on here. I felt like I was being watched from the moment I walked in. Gentlemen in the back was friendly, but the lady at the front not very welcoming. As soon as I got to the back, where the men's section is; I hear the employee talking on his ear piece saying "yes, he's back here." "The guy who just walked in." I was dressed conservatively casual and clean shaven if you are wondering if I looked sketchy. I don't like feeling monitored while I'm shopping. I also noticed security in a suit standing at the entrance. Looks like they have a theft issue. At least I'm not the only one that got that uncomfortable impression here. read more

Unfortunately the J Crew that was located in the Brea mall has been shut down for over a year or two now, so I've been trying to find the perfect replacement, and I think I've found it. This is definitely one of the better J Crew locations in the greater LA/OC area. The store is a lot bigger on the inside than it appears from the outside, and is the biggest location that I have personally been in. That being said however, the men's section was, disappointing. It's a little bit insulting that this HUGE location has their men's collection shoved in a small section in the very back of the store. While they had a variety of shorts in every color, I noticed that the selections of suits and chinos was minuscule at best. Nothing was as bad though, as the fact that their men's sale "section" (if you could even call it that) was quite literally 3 shirts and 4 or 5 graphic tees. That's a sharp contrast with the HUGE women's sale section. My suggestion is to just use their catalog or shop online, at least for the men's lines. As far as service goes, I was really happy to see that the guy in the back was beyond helpful and was always offering to help out and offering to help me find a size. I think that it's also important to point out that the sales staff was level headed, as the sales people at some of the slightly higher up stores (i.e. J Crew, Banana, Polo Ralph Lauren) tend to be a bit stuck up and even a bit rude at times, but I'm glad to report that this was far from true at this particular J Crew. All in all though, I'd say that this is one of the best J Crew experiences I've had, this has been one of the best and surely beats the location in South Coast. Happy Shopping :) read more

This J. Crew is great, not only because of its fabulous location on Colorado Blvd in Old Pasadena, but because its J. Crew and they have some of the greatest clothes and accessories. The customer service has always been very helpful and I've had a lot of success there! Especially love their tops and sweaters, which are cute and great quality! This is my favorite J.Crew because the staff is so helpful and friendly! I work around the corner and find myself wandering in at lunchtime at least twice a week. They have an excellent selection of women's clothing from the catalog and they always offer to order something for you if it's not in stock. They also have an AMAZING sale section in the back! And the sale inventory is constantly changing, getting markdowns, etc. If you like J.Crew, this store is one to check out. This is one of my favorite J Crew Stores. It's very spacious with tons of sale merchandise & it's nicely organized so you don't have to go through heaps of piled up clothes or overstuffed racks. It's almost 2 walls of the store with racks of clothes on sale. I love J Crew but it can be a little pricey sometimes so I'm all about the sales. This is def the place! This is perhaps one of the better J crew's I've been to, they've got a large selection of sale items towards the back and every time I've been here, the staff's been nice and helpful. Yesterday there was a sale for an additional 50% off sale items - had a lot of xs and small items which I find are usually gone towards the end of the sale. I got a pair of black skinny jeans for $25 and a cross-body leather purse for $70 - a steal for the quality of their products. I didn't end up purchasing the bag on display bc I found some stains. I brought it to the attention of one of the associates and she was happy to assist me in ordering one from their warehouse. All in all, an extremely good experience this time. read more

If I could afford it, I would make this store my entire wardrobe. Their styles are always classy, sophisticated, trendy and well made. I'm always drawn to their well designed window displays. My favorite pieces are their outerwear and jewelry pieces. They always have unique finds here. They even have a pretty good sales section to the back. The salespeople are always available and easy to find. Anytime I am looking for something particular or have any questions on their products they are very helpful.  Love the spacious layout of this store. Let me start off with the fact that before I moved to this area, I used to shop at J.Crew all the time. After trying out this store several times, I'm extremely disappointed with how unorganized and messy this store is. Staff don't greet as you walk in the door and I had to hunt down a sales person to try something on, along with waiting about 10 minutes for one to go and find another size--which she forgot about and apologized - but the store wasn't busy and it wasn't a good excuse. I've been a fan of jcrew for a few years now, can't shop here all the time because it does get pricey, but a splurge now and then is ok in my eyes! Oldtown pas is one of my favorite places to shop because it's so quaint, I love the older buildings. This store is pretty big and has a great selection. WOW! My new favorite store. They have THE BEST customer service I've ever experienced at a clothing store. I took in some clothes to the fitting room, and the girl that helped was so nice! She constantly went back to bring me different sizes of the clothes I got and my fitting room was literally a mess because I had tried on soo many things. When I was done and chose what I was buying I felt bad and wanted to clean up and take out the clothes and she insisted that I leave it and stand in line beucase the line was so long. How sweet is that? I felt horrible but I left it to her. She was right the line was fairly long, but I didn't mind because the people there were so pleasant. Halfway through the line, one of the employees came and passed out water bottles to all the customers waiting. Such an awesome place!
