The store was completely picked over--bare shelves, no stuffed animals, but a plethora of overpriced leotards and dance-like costumes. I guess somewhat understandable, but still disappointing. My daughter left extremely saddened. The second time we came (and also *paid* for parking), we walked to the entrance to find it--CLOSED (6/9/26)! I had to whip out my phone because why would a store be closed on a Tuesday at a day and time of normal operating hours? Another family with a little girl asked if we came to see the store and I said yes. She said they posted on their Instagram they were closed and were also saddened they couldn't go inside. I get that things happen but we live 1.5 hours away and made a dr specialist appt nearby and made sure to stop here specifically since we were finally close. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is. I don't go on social media to make sure a business is open that day. I *did* check their website and they were supposed to be open. From what we saw the first time around (picked over items) and what we could see through the glass the second time, we won't ever be coming back for a third time. The store is small, not a huge selection, but a higher price point for the same items found elsewhere. I told my daughter if she saw anything through the glass then I would just google it and buy it online for her. I would much rather support small businesses but it makes it hard when they don't really seem to value their customers. As I said, this store is quite small and doesn't have anything we wanted that we couldn't buy elsewhere. I wish they were better stocked the first time and had more employees to actually run the business during their supposed operating hours, but this just left my daughter devastated and me frustrated and angry the second time. We won't be back to be fooled again. Shame on us.

A Slice of Shopping Heaven in San Marino…read more Serafina is less of a boutique and more of a retail paradise where the fashion angels sing and the decor whispers, "Go on, treat yourself." Nestled in the heart of San Marino, just a stone's throw from Pasadena, it's the kind of place that makes you feel like royalty--no tiara required. Upon entering, it's clear this is no ordinary clothing emporium. The mix of designers is so carefully curated, I half expected to find a gallery label next to the Nili Lotan display. And with threads by Sea NY and Helmut Lang hanging around, you're not just shopping; you're adding to your art collection. The handbags? They've got more personality than a reality TV star. Shoes that make Cinderella's glass slipper look like a flip-flop. Fine jewelry that has you sparkling brighter than the twinkle in your eye. And let's not forget the gift items--because who doesn't love presents? But wait, there's more! A children's boutique so adorable, even your little ones will want to extend playtime to dress-up time. With names like Splendid and Ella Moss, your kids are walking out of there runway-ready for the sandbox catwalk. Sipping on Pellegrino while the staff, who are more like your personal fashion consultants, cater to your every need? Check. Enjoying a cappuccino as you peruse luxury labels? Double check. Feeling as comfortable as if you were lounging in your own living room? Well, if your living room was a casually chic sanctuary of style, then yes--triple check! If Serafina were a song, it'd be a symphony of style, luxury, and comfort. So next time you're in San Marino and need a dose of retail therapy, float on into Serafina and float out like the fashion deity you truly are.

I recently moved to the area from Brentwood and was excited…read moreto see a cute shop with a nicely curated selection of some of my favorite brands like Xirena and Saloni, they also have a nice selection of home items like candles and hostess gifts. I hate giving 2 stars, but in this instance my two stars go for the low level of customer service. No one greets you when you walk in (I've been a few times), no one asks to hold your items at the counter when they see you holding an armful of items, when I ask for a size they say that's all they have and can't be bothered to say they can order it for you or provide alternatives. This store seems to cater to the white and 60+ set (that's all there was at the store both times I've visited) and if you don't fit that demographic, they don't care you'll be dropping $5-600. I wanted to support a local business but I rather make the drive back to the country mart than give my money to a shop that does not value all of their shoppers. Perhaps I expect too much out of my shopping experience, but now more than ever (pandemic) I want my limited entries to shops to be memorable. I don't want to think "oh, I had a shitty time when I bought this $400 dress".

The owner is kind and very helpful when I clearly state what I'm looking for and the occasion. While the items aren't individually tagged with pricing, you can always ask and the owner can quickly quote you. She isn't pushy, but rather helpful. I've bought Petit Bateau dresses for a friend's daughter's first birthday, Mayoral birthday dresses for my nieces, and Easter, Christmas, and wedding guest dresses for my kids. The store also carries very cute separates that you can match. Depending on the brand, some of the older youth sizes fit petite adults so I've been able to get the same jacket to match my kids. There's also a small section of the store where the owner sells "vintage" clothing that has been previously loved. My favorite brands to buy here are Mayoral, Abel and Lula, and Tartine et Chocolat. The store also carries cute European toys and sometimes books. The one star Yelp reviews seem strange as it seems those reviewers don't understand how a business is run and they expect to see department store pricing and discounting. This shop is a small business that doesn't have the volume of Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's; thus, the pricing reflects the overhead to run the business and the transportation costs that imported clothing incur. There's a reason folks choose to shop local. The beauty of life here is that no one is forcing you to shop here specifically. If the price doesn't fit your budget, drive the distance to another shop, pay the fee to buy it elsewhere and have it shipped to you, or you can fly to Europe and buy it directly at the stores there. Long story short: try this place out as the clothing is high quality, the selection is great, and the owner is so kind. Support small business!

Highly recommend if you're looking for high quality children's clothing and amazing customer service.
