I visited this restaurant around 8:00 p.m. on a Monday evening while in town for a business trip…read more It was conveniently located near my hotel, and my first impression was very positive. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere, was busy with guests, and I was seated within just a few minutes of arriving. Unfortunately, the experience began to decline after I was seated. I waited approximately 10-15 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. While waiting, I looked through the menu and was surprised to find it noticeably dirty, which wasn't the impression I expected from a restaurant of this caliber. When my server finally arrived, she was polite but didn't seem particularly welcoming or engaging. She appeared stressed, which made the service feel rushed rather than hospitable. I ordered a Diet Dr Pepper and my meal at the same time since I had already decided what I wanted. It then took another 10 or more minutes for my drink to arrive. Shortly afterward, someone delivered bread with honey butter, which was excellent. However, no bread plate, napkin, or silverware accompanied it, so I had to flag down another employee before I could enjoy it. After waiting another 20-plus minutes, my steak and fries finally arrived. I had ordered the steak medium rare, but it was burned on one side, barely seared on the other, and when I cut into it, it was blue rare--nearly raw. I asked my server to send it back, and she promptly took it to the kitchen. About 15 minutes later, a replacement steak arrived. Unfortunately, while the opposite side was now burned, the inside was cooked to medium well. I let my server know this was still unacceptable, and she asked if I would like another steak prepared. I agreed, requesting simply that it be cooked medium rare without being burned. To the restaurant's credit, the third steak was prioritized and delivered by who I believe was the manager. She asked me to cut into it to confirm it was cooked correctly. Although the replacement was noticeably smaller and thinner than the original, it was cooked to a proper medium rare, so I accepted it. By that point, however, my fries were completely cold. The manager apologized briefly but never returned to check on the meal or my overall experience. My server didn't return until I was nearly finished eating, at which point she asked if everything was okay. I simply requested the check. What should have been about a 30-minute dinner stretched to well over an hour, and after a long day of business travel, I was ready to return to my hotel. I wasn't expecting my meal to be completely comped, but after multiple mistakes and significant delays, a small gesture of goodwill--such as discounting the entrée or even comping the soda--would have gone a long way. Overall, this restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere, and I believe the food has the potential to be very good when prepared correctly. However, the service, management's follow-up, and overall attention to the guest experience fell well below what I would expect from a restaurant of this quality. I hope they can improve these areas because the restaurant certainly has the potential to provide an excellent dining experience.

With all the fanfare coming into the place all around saying how wonderful this place is, gives a false sense of security to me. I am not sure why my experience this time was so critically awful but it is unfortunate. Although the service was standard of the current food industry here in El Paso, TX, the connection from website to currently available products at the location were a huge disparity. The inside of the store is like all 5 Guys, deadly to a person with a nut allergy, and not that unclean but it looked like it'd been a day or more since the floor had serious attention. My wife's Veggie Cheese sandwich was clearly overly-greasy and disgusting, and it straight for the garbage. My hamburger that I ordered did taste funny but I decided that it was just me. It was not. I ate nearly the entire burger until my body rushed me into the bathroom with a severe hamburger allergic reaction that sent my rear-end on turbo-flush. I spent the next couple days trying to get over the food poisoning and from that moment forward. After spending over $50, 5 Guys has been banned from any future business with us.

The milkshakes fresh, the kids loved them. Lots of burger choices to choose from, tastes really fresh. Service was 5/5. We came in about half an hour from closing and they were so friendly, despite us being so late. Love the diner atmosphere! Popeye was playing, as well as 50s music. The decor is really cool, as is the warehouse door being open on a nice night so you can see the kids playing at the park. Definitely worth a stop in!

The food still had a great taste. But everything else just didn't feel organic is the best way I can describe it. It honestly felt like a Mooyahs with AJ'S name on it. The AJ'S on N.Mesa which I've been going to since High School over 25 years now, just feels more welcoming. I feel like I'm walking into the 50's & 60's at that one. At this new location I didn't get the vibe as much. They tried adding the era correct decor but missed I felt. Also a lot dirtier than what I was expecting especially for a new location. Though that needed to be addressed. The service wasn't the same, as you now have to order at the counter. I'm not saying this is a bad place to eat but I am saying the original on N.Mesa is worth the extra 10 mile drive. Food was delicious.
